  1. Hi Folks, What you are seeing now is a new upgrade of MCF. This upgrade is nothing aesthetic but we just update all the forum function to match with you need for a 2022 world! Thank you all so much for your patronage! I hope to learn more from you guys here!
  2. As above, anyone gone through this upgrading? What are things to take note of, especially for toilet/bathroom upgrading? It's gonna be messy so need to cover the furniture, cabinet with plastic sheet they say. Where can I get the plastic sheet & the cost? Or other method for coverage? And any protection for the flooring? Workers will be going in/out of the house so was thinking of laying canvas or cardboard. Will also take this chance to redo bathroom fixtures & water heater which is already >10 yrs. Can the contractor assist? Maybe pay a token fee? Seems must tahan for 10 days before work finished.
  3. This thread is set up for discussions of anything technical, features, functions, tips/tricks or technological gadgets relating to fuel consumption (FC) and performance for general drivers. It is not for the discussion extensive or extreme car modifications and similar irrelevances. Do share what works for you, your aspiration and related information. Do ask if you have any questions relating FC and performance.

  5. New roads, new places to explore. Three new roads to open in Bidadarihttp://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/three-new-roads-to-open-in-bidadari Three new roads in Bidadari estate will be opened partially on Jan 14 to serve the upcoming developments there. They are Bidadari Park Drive, Alkaff Crescent and Woodleigh Link. The Housing Board said Bidadari Park Drive is a major road that will serve as the main transportation spine of Bidadari. It will eventually traverse the full length of the new estate, from Bartley Road to Upper Serangoon Road. Most residents living near Bidadari estate have given the thumbs up to the development of these new roads, especially Bidadari Park Drive. Engineer Saiful Said, 26, who lives in Potong Pasir Avenue 1, told The Sunday Times that he often rides his motorcycle in the direction of Bartley Road to meet his friends in MacPherson. He said: "Right now, I have to ride down Upper Serangoon Road before making a right turn into Bartley Road. This leg of the journey takes about 10 minutes. When Bidadari Park Drive is fully open, I think it will take about five minutes." A housewife, who wanted to be known only as Madam Wong, 42, shared a similar view. She said: "There are some students living in Potong Pasir who go to schools near the Bartley area, such as Maris Stella High School and St Gabriel's Secondary. I think this will cut their travelling time." However, a retiree who declined to be named is not too enthusiastic about the new roads. He said: "I don't think the roads will cut travelling time that much. I've been living in Potong Pasir since the 1990s and I really miss the old Bidadari cemetery because it was so peaceful and green. Now, the area will just be another housing estate." New traffic lights will also be set up in the area. They will be along Bidadari Park Drive, at the junctions of Upper Serangoon Road, Upper Aljunied Road and Alkaff Crescent. Since November 2015, HDB has launched more than 6,000 flats in seven new-generation public housing projects such as Alkaff Lakeview, Alkaff Oasis, Woodleigh Glen and Woodleigh Village. It added that these units have seen strong response, averaging about five applicants to one flat. The masterplan for Bidadari was launched in August 2013 and it draws inspiration from the area's rich heritage and unique landscape. Spanning 93ha, roughly the size of 150 football fields, the estate is bounded by Bartley Road, Sennett Estate, Upper Serangoon Road and Mount Vernon Road. It is built on top of what was once Singapore's largest grave site. The estate will feature lush greenery and social spaces, in line with the area's vision of being "a community in a garden".
  6. What is the best way to hammer the little nails from the trunking to the wall? I have difficulties holding the tiny nails while hammering it into the wall. and most of the time, the nail will bend or only can go half way. :(
  7. I was thinking, currently the 3rd brake light only gives a 'on' and 'off' indication, but does not reflect the intensity of braking force. Therefore, while traveling on the expressway we do not know the car in front when the brake is it a light tap to slow down or hard braking. Possible improvement I'm thinking was a 3rd brake light which would reflect whether the brake is a light tap or emergency brake, by the length of the lighted 3rd brake light. IF it is a light tap to slow down, 1 foot length of 3rd brake light showing. If moderate braking, 2 feet length of 3rd brake light showing. IF its a emergency brake, full 3 feet length of 3rd brake light would show. If there is such a 3rd brake light I believe the accident would reduce, because people would not hard brake unintentionally because he can see whether the car in front is a light tap or hard brake. Does such a 3rd brake light exist?
  8. Ok..since I complained them so much last time, I thought I should give them back some credit when they did improved. I sent a parcel to Vpost USA 2 weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised that I can do my own self declare for shipment now. I don't need to send them my invoice. Previously, sending them the invoice and getting them to recognise the invoice and giving me a shipping bill take a bloody long time. Now, when the parcel arrived at my Vost USA address, they will inform me (via email) that the parcel has arrived. Then I just login my Vpost account, do a self declare, and it will automatically show me the shipping bill. I do payment and that's it. Item will arrive 3-4 days later to my destination in SGP. It's fast. And they also didn't delay informing me when the parcel arrived at my Vpost USA address. Not bad...hope they maintain this well.

  12. Hi Bros & Sis. My Mit Lancer is 2yrs 3 mths and just change its tyres(GR-80) and currently undergoing respraying of whole car in a Yishun workshop(900 bucks/same colour). I know the ride is just a humble car(OPC by the way) and cant expect much, but i intend to convert to normal plate soon and drive another 3-4 years if possible, so would like to improve the comfort inside the car a bit more. Hence im looking at the sound proofing and sound system areas. Can any bros here advise if its feasible for Lancer to install sound proofing and a good ICE ? Or it wont help at all? Do i need to go for the full package for sound proffing(roof, bonnet, doors, fender, etc etc). And whats the diff btw 2x Amplifier & 4x ? Any good recommendations on the contacts for the 2 services and its pros and cons are welcome. I dont need a tok-gong top of the line system. Just reasonable standard can liao. Budget abt 2+k thereabouts for both. Btw...is Silent Pte Ltd a good place to approach for these 2 services ? Thanks....
