Sharing this DIY on how I replaced my W212 left side mirror actuator. The left mirror will tilt down when i reverse my car, but recently it has been making strange noise, I knew one of the micro motors must have gone bad, I could buy a micro motor from taobao to fix it, but upon removing the refector , I realised that the actuator assembly screw is bad, so i decided to replace the entire actuator unit instead. The micro motor should look like this, it should be on a plastic worm gear, not the one as shown. I replaced it on my W211 before and it costed me less than $10 from taobao. These are the simple tools I need. a set of Torx screw drivers and a platic pryer. bought this from Surpass, Mr Lim, jiang zua ji. for $195.00 first, I removed the reflector using the plastic pryer. The reflector is snapped onto the actuator with several snap-on clips , do it gently to avoid damaging the clips. The reflector has two heater wires on it, be careful not to stretch the wires . I did not detach the wires because they did not cause any obstruction to my work. you can see a few of the snap-on clips at the back of thereflector. once the reflector is removed, I could see the three screws that mount the actuator onto the casing, I removed the screws and the actuator came out naturally. there is a cable connected to the actuator, disconnct the cable gently. Reverse the same process, and job is done. Maybe 15 min job? Now i am a happy man, no new car but i have a new actuator, very silence.

Hi all, Anyone can advise me where to find the kit for Honda City 2017 facelift side mirror motor with folding and unfolding feature. Brought one that came without and would like to DIY. Thanks and have a nice day ahead. Rdgs

Think that there are no need for blind spot mirrors actually if the can adjust your side mirrors correctly and adjust your driving style to always look at both the rear and side mirrors. Also read about it somewhere before. Agree?- 98 replies

My right side mirror was damaged. Cannot fold also. Left Right Up Down no problem. Toyota altis registered 2008 Anybody know where to replace / repair and cost? Thanks!

Hi, Anyone know where to repair auto flip side mirror, one side of the mirror not working. Workshop told me to replace both side mirror with respray at $400 plus. Not sure if repair option is available in the market?

Dear bros, Need your help urgently. Do any of u have left side (passenger side) mirror to sell for our Alfa 159? (just mirror, no need housing) mirror shattered by another vehicle opening his door. workshops no stock, order need 1-2weeks. it's tough driving without the side mirror. can PM me. appreciate your help!

This is the second part of some crazy modification/alteration photos that I saw on the internet and I wish to share it with everyone. In this instalment, we get to see more photos of repair work done on cars instead of modifications. In the first photo (above) we see a SUV with a wooden plank door. Judging from the dents and the missing side skirts, this vehicle was involved in some form of accident. The original door probably could not be used anymore and the owner replaced it with this.
