East bikes need to be registered.

@turboflat4

It's a good start. Although the ones who illegally modify e-bikes will obviously leave them unregistered. Might as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb, eh? And how do they propose to catch the illegal bikes without plates?

By the way, why do many of the limey wankers commenting on that story think this has anything to do with the UK? [laugh]

Coe for e bikes!

You tell me then we'll both know...as to registration. Make it a condition of sale? There's going to have to be some forms of number plate right? Otherwise like you say...no point.

I hope they've properly thought through the logistics.

On a related note...they're going to make it legal for regular people powered bikes to use footpath....dumb arsed move if ever there was one

Punish them the same way as those riding a motorbike w/o license.

Then you're sure it's enough? Go for max protection if you're unsure.

Can an electric scooter b used in 'manual mode' w/o damaging the motor?

Not sure about those cheap ones but the better ones have regenerative braking so they can charge the batteries while coasting down a hill or while slowing down.

Good ones like those , inova. Or somethin, does it have enough torque to go up slopes. E.g., 0.5km slope.
