Even if allowed doesn't mean should do it to block and irritate drivers behind this case. What a pity that idiot not spending Christmas in hospital.

 

Like road hoggers.

Block driver still will not cause that road rage. It's when the limit is push like for the cyclist case went extra of throwing water bottle to the lorry driver plus blocking.

The 2 lane Loyang Avenue has many cyclists cycling abreast on weekends, even if it’s just 2 cyclists. The main culprits are the caucasians – they are very arrogant. Just a slight tap of the horn when you overtake them (to warn them that there’s a car overtaking on their right) gets them very agitated and they will start to show all forms of hand signs and even shout out loud profanity.

 

I have learnt to take this in my stride. If I am shown any hand signs or any profanity when I over take them,  I will take it easy on the left lane – and play the role of a F1 safety car. This escort by the safety car will continue all the way the Changi Coast Road where there is a cycling lane on the extreme left.

 

These cyclists like to cycle on the road (lane on the immediate right of the cycling lane) instead of the cycling lane. I will cruise one car length ahead of them, so the entire convoy is stuck cycling on a single file on the cycling lane for eternity, till they reach the end of Tanah Merah Coast Road – that’s an enjoyable 15km of “slow” ride for these bunch of smart alec. This makes my day!  [:)]

 

or blow diesel smoke at them.hahaha

2 abreast on the left lane la. There is another line in the rta that states as left as possible. I have clarified with a TP before. It means stick to the left most possible lane. So 2 cyclist abreast should stick to the furthest left lane. Not one lane each.

Aren't you the one who said you don't want us to become like China (with the implication of over-regulation) when I suggested bringing back visible registration for bikes?

 

Isn't your notion of writing to LTA to clarify every little thing also supporting over-regulation?

 

Isn't simple common sense on the roads better? Like not insisting on blocking the lane in crowded traffic by going single file? Or do you want us to become "like China" when it suits you, and appeal to authority every time?

 

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If you look at the video of this particular dickhead of a cyclist, it's clear he was intentionally blocking the lorry's path just because he felt entitled to the lane. So in this case at least, there was definitely a slowing down of an already slower motor vehicle and traffic piling up behind.

 

I am not against cyclists using the roads considerately - that means not just insisting on legal rights, but also looking at the volume of other traffic, and choosing the right time and place for elective journeys (not related to commuting) so as not to inconvenience others unduly.

 

It's the black sheep like this prick who give your community a bad name.

 

Agreed. Demanding that cyclists pay is just being punitive, and may be self-defeating.

 

Just make them non-anonymous on the roads and also ensure they have something to compensate others with if they cause injury or damage (third party insurance).

Like you mentioned, it's a video of one particular cyclist only. Most would have just kept left and don't hit the lorry's mirror as he's overtaking.

 

Lorry took so long to overtake because he was bent on overtaking the cyclist on the same lane. He had many opportunities to do what the cam car did and change lanes to overtake and it'll be over in seconds. He chose to tailgate and provoke the cyclist and the cyclist also chose to retaliate and provoke the lorry driver. Both deserved it and both deserve to be taught a lesson.

 

I wonder if now the lorry was provoked by another car and the lorry use his vehicle to swerve and run the smaller car off the road, will the comments here be still supporting the lorry driver.

Looking at the sheer amount of posts here and other forums arguing on LTA Road Traffic Act.

 

I can concluded that this ACT is really SCREW-UP.

 

Can the relevant Authority look into this ACT and make amend on all the loopholes if necessary.

I've said this many times and I'll say again.

 

Cycling abreast is like farting in a lift full of people or a crowded enclosed space.

 

It is not illegal but it's farking irritating and not showing due consideration for others.

 

Wanna cycle abreast (fart in a lift), if there's no one with you, no one cares.

 

But when you're preventing faster traffic from passing (expecting others to smell your smelly fart), then you're being a dickhead and egocentric prick.

 

Eric Cheung, you suck big time! Shame on you! You didn't just fart. U also lao sai and cause shock to others (hitting the lorry's mirror), resulting in the driver stepping on your sai (crashing into u) and landing themselves in an awkward situation (potential TP case).

 

You deserve all the hate from the Internet!
