Yes, the uncle at the traffic light did seem a little blur and started crossing the road, rather slowly too, after the red man came on. Yes, this traffic light along Victoria Street is notorious for heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic, as seen in the video where people are not done crossing the road even as the red man comes on. Perhaps let's cut the uncle some slack? Maybe he wasn't paying attention or just having an off day. Or on the other hand, he is really lacking spatial awareness and nearly got himself killed. Understandably, the driver in the camera car could've not honked so long and scared the uncle half out of his slippers. A double tap of his horn would've been suffice, plus the other cars around the camera car don't seemed to have moved off either. And also being so eager to leave the lights. Where are you rushing off to, bro? But then again, this writer daresays that both parties are in the wrong in this incident. The uncle for not being observant of the traffic light and taking his own sweet time to cross, and the driver for being extremely heavy handed with his horn. Although the driver should be more conscious on his acceleration. Yes, this writer knows that most of us can't tolerate stupid people, but do remember that if you as a driver hits a pedestrian, it's not going to just be demerit points, man. Like most things in life, a little patience doesn't kill, people. You would think people would've remembered that by now but no.......

But police say there is no credible evidence to suggest such an attack to date. Still, they've taken the necessary precautions to enhance security in the area. And investigations into the case are ongoing. In the meantime, police are advising members of the public to not be overly alarmed, and to contact the police immediately if they notice any suspicious activity. They also want to warn those who would intentionally mislead the public by perpetuating false threats to public safety. The police say they take a very stern view against anyone who attempts to cause undue public alarm or fear in such a manner. The theme for this year’s annual light extravaganza is "Bold and Beautiful". Urban hits will take centrestage in a performance by 10 DJs and musicians. Night Lights, a crowd favourite, will also return on a bigger scale. Visitors will be able to enjoy light installations such as a "greenhouse car" - which questions the impact of industrialisation on the environment - or catch what is known as "flow art". 8 workers hurt, 2 missing in accident at Downtown Line's Bugis MRT By Christopher Tan Eight workers were injured and two are missing when a scaffolding at the Downtown MRT Line's Bugis station collapsed on Wednesday morning. The Land Transport Authority said the incident happend at about 6.50am, when a temporary scaffolding at the site of the new station gave way. It said the structure was about 4m high. 'Eight workers who were working on top of the structure were injured and sent to the nearby Raffles Hospital. One worker has since been discharged,' an LTA spokesman said. 'At the time of report, another two workers are still unaccounted for.' PUB workers were also seen checking the sewage pipes near the site, and police officers were carrying a body tent - usually deployed in cases where deaths occurred - at the site. However, there has been no confirmation of deaths as of now.
