  3. Visibility levels in the west coast took a dive over the weekend although the weather remained on the cooler side. The reason for the reduced visibility levels is not conclusive as air quality in the country is recorded at either “good” or “moderate” on the Air Pollutant Index. Some Malaysians speculated it might be haze as they felt ill, listing symptoms such as fever, sore throat and sinus problems. Homemaker Sara Sukor, 33, said she had observed her baby son’s eczema flare up after the “haze” appeared on Friday afternoon. She said she could barely make out the skyline of the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower from her 19th floor apartment in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. “Even though there is no smoky smell, I feel the haze is getting worse by the day,” she said. IT support executive, Martin Arulappa, 26, said he had not noticed lower visibility levels in Klang but he and his sister had been suffering from flu and fever since Friday. “It could be the indecisive climate,” he said. The Meteorological Department (MET) said Petaling Jaya and Kuala Pilah in Negri Sembilan had visibility readings of up to 4km as of 5pm yesterday. Visibility was up to 6km in Subang and Ipoh, 7km in Butterworth, 8km in Sepang and Malacca and 9km in Batu Pahat, Johor. Normal visibility levels are from a range of 10km and further. However, air quality remained at good and moderate levels, with Ipoh recording the poorest reading of 82 as of 5pm yesterday. According to the Department of Environment’s Air Pollutant Index (API), unhealthy, very unhealthy and hazardous air quality readings are from 100 to 200, 200 to 300, and more than 300 respectively. The reduced visibility could be due to the 500 hotspots detected by the NOAA-18 Satellite on the Meteorological Service Singapore’s website, for the areas of Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. The hotspot map for that region showed most of the hotspots were concentrated in Cambodia and spread out into Thailand and Laos. 4. I measured the sound level of my Altis with a sound meter and got the following readings.. idle ~45-50 db cruising at 70km/hr ~ 60-65 db revving to accelerate (to 5k RPM) ~ max at 70 db (on passenger chair) 76db at my feet. is that normal? now looking at sound proofing..saw the e-rev website, show that they can reduce sound to 50++ db (from 80++ db..i assume this is for sports car). no need to spend $$ on quiet tyres that would not last long anyway.... incidental i use my Samsung S2 to measure the sound levels the reading is 5 db higher (idle and max) so not bad for a phone, can use for comparative measurements.

  8. From Wanbao. Mother blames school for "mistake" of timing of O Levels DNT paper. The time schedule clearly wrote 0800 but the student read it as 0300 and thought it was afternoon 3pm. He only realised the mistake when the school called them at 750am to ask why haven't leach school, the mother drove him down and by then it was already 820am. The boy could only finish 70% of the paper and left the hall in tears and claims that his A1 flew away. Mother claimed that the time schedule never print clear enough, wants the school to take full responsibility. Principal replied back and say there was no way it could be 0300 as that would be 3am. No exams would be held during 3am and if its 3pm, it will be shown as 1500 so you all think it is whose fault?? Me certainly think its the boy's fault and it seems like the mother is damn kp type.

  12. To satisfy many forumers here who are crying foul as to the incompentence of those in-charge to have let a JI leader escaped....what would be the unspoken actions on those held responsible, which will never be made public anyway! Of course, as diasatrous as the incident had been...I would expect more than one level of heads to roll...so take your pick!

Yeah, the feeling of NO MORE BOOKS is here, but that marks the end of playhood, friendship, and lotsa crappy things we do as classmates in sec school. Its gonna be some serious business starting, whether i enter JC or Poly. =] Anyone can rmb their last day of O level paper? How did you feel? Mixed emotions or just YAY! ? =]
