  1. Source: https://uk.motor1.com/news/703878/honda-new-ev-logo/ Honda EVs will be getting a fresh logo. The company is updating its iconic "H mark," which has been used continuously on all of its cars since 1981. The new logo — which Honda says represents "two outstretched hands" — is a thinner, minimalist version of the current H, minus the trapezoid border. This new logo bears a striking resemblance to Honda's first logo. Introduced in 1963 (which can be seen below in the historical timeline), the original H featured a similarly thin, top-heavy design, albeit one that was wider rather than taller. That logo was only briefly used in America on the first car the company sold, the 1969 N600, before the badge was redesigned in 1969. Honda will debut its new H logo on future 0 Series electric cars. The 0 Series is a lineup of next-gen, clean-sheet-design EVs that will be introduced to American buyers starting in 2026; those cars will also get their own unique branding, seen below. The first two 0 Series vehicles are concepts called the Saloon and the Space-Hub, a saloon and a van that share a similar futuristic wedge-shaped exterior. The Saloon, Honda has confirmed, will inspire a future production model for American streets; that'll likely be the first time the new H emblem could be seen on US roads. There's no word if this new "H" will be paired with the spelled-out Honda badging on the back of the company's upcoming EV SUV, the Prologue, or if the Prologue will get the new badging with a later facelift. Honda also hasn't intentionally played up the parallels to the company's first car logo, but with the resurgence of nostalgic nameplates getting revived both at Honda and elsewhere, we can't help but wonder if callback advertisements or models are in the company's future.
  2. ... sometimes leaves car logo bruises as a souvenir. I can imagine many Mercedes owners can't wait to show their 3 point star bruises to people around them in such unfortunate event! A Twitter thread gone viral shows oddly perfect logos – from Nissan, Mercedes, Chevy, and more – as gnarly forearm bruises. Nissan Mazda Honda Hyundai Buick Bonus picture. @Jamesc MIL!
  3. "It will also be considered an offence when a person use items bearing Singapore Police Force (SPF) logos and insignias for the purpose of creating a false impression of an association with the SPF without authorisation." http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/penalties-for-those-who/1879574.html
  4. Yet another one... https://mothership.sg/2021/07/india-school-copy-singapore-sports-school-logo/ The logo of a school in Nagpur, India's state of Maharastra, known as Gaikwad Patil International School (GPIS) looks exactly like Singapore Sports School's (SSS) logo. Principal claims school is now closed and there's nothing further to discuss In reponse to Mothership's queries, SSS said that they had reached out to the principal of GPIS about the matter, as well as the school itself through the "Contact Us" page on their website. The principal then replied SSS, by sharing that she had left the job and that the school "is also shut now". As such, the issue of the two schools having the same logo "does not need any further discussion." SSS added that they interpreted the principal's comments to mean that GPIS is now closed. In addition, SSS asked the principal if she was aware as to whether the school's owner intends to take down the website, since the school is now closed, adding that it would otherwise be misleading having the website remain live. SSS also requested that the principal refers them to the owner of the school, if she was not yet aware. However, on these matters, SSS added that it has not received any further response from the principal since then. The schools' website appears to have since become inaccessible. Principal has assumed new job at DPIS which is located at the same address as GPIS Meanwhile, the principal appears to have assumed a new job at Delhi Public International School (DPIS), which appears to be at the same address as GPIS, according to her LinkedIn profile. Her last post on GPIS was about two months ago, in which she put up a poster stating that applications for GPIS were open. GPIS also appears to have been promoted by DPIS before, with a video by the latter in 2019 advertising the former's facilities. Who designed the SSS logo? According to SSS, it was designed by Ukulele, a commercial brand consultancy in 2003. The trademark was first registered on Sep. 16, 2003, with the school taking in its first cohort of student-athletes in 2004.
  5. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a33326179/nissan-logo-change-revealed/ Nissan Introduces a New Logo The 2021 Nissan Ariya EV is the first vehicle to get the new badge, which is adapted to look good in LED lights but is otherwise not drastically changed. Nissan has introduced its new, more digital-friendly logo on the 2022 Nissan Ariya EV. The automaker had shown the new image earlier this year, when patent applications were revealed on a new logo for the next Nissan Z. Nissan's announcement of the change to its logo follows similar decisions from Volkswagen and BMW. Volkswagen's got a new emblem and BMW has redesigned its badge, and now Nissan has done that as well. Nissan revealed the redesigned logo today along with the 2022 Ariya, an all-electric crossover. It is the first vehicle to feature the new badge, which will be rolled out to future models. New: Old: The new logo is still a circle intersected by the name Nissan in capital letters, but the name is more freestanding now, with less of a physical connection to the circle that it intersects. The circle is incomplete in the new logo, with a small gap where the Nissan name bisects it, while the old logo's outer ring was a solid circle. Another noticeable change is in the spacing of the lettering. Nissan says it began the redesign process in 2017, with the aim to make the new logo "thin, light, and flexible." Another requirement was to make it look good when illuminated on future EV models, which will have 20 LEDs lighting up the Nissan logo on the front of the car. Like other automakers who've changed their logos, it's flatter and simpler for better adaptation to digital use. The logo will start to appear across the brand’s various platforms gradually, Nissan said.
  6. How many of you actually pay attention to automotive brand or their logo, and are curious how a car model get it name? The key objective of this thread is to allow us to share what we know about a particular brand, model and/or it logo. Let me start with the follow brands. More to be added. Alfa Romeo I own up first, I didn't know that the word ALFA is actually an abbreviation, which stand for Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, whereas ROMEO is the name of a Neapolitan Entrepreneur, Nicola Romeo (who take control of the company in 1915), instead of it founder, Alexandre Darracq. I will skip the history part, as I don't wish you to fall asleep (as I normally do during history lesson ). But the most interesting part is with it logo, and again I have to admit, I have all the while thought that the snake-like creature on the right side of the logo is spitting fire, while the "fire" it is actually a human at the mouth of the "snake"! So have anyone managed to guess how the logo come about? Why is something so cruel being featured on the company logo? OK, there is 2 version of the story actually. Version #1: From Wikipedia Alfa Romeo's logo incorporates two heraldic devices traditionally associated with its birthplace, the city of Milan: a red cross, from the emblem of Milan, and the biscione (a heraldic charge showing on argent an azure serpent in the act of consuming a human; usually a child and sometimes described as a Moor or an Ottoman Turk), a crowned viper swallowing a Moor—emblem of the House of Visconti, rulers of the city in the 14th century. Version #2: From Alfa Romeo On the left: the red cross on white field is the symbol of Milan, the hometown of Alfa Romeo. On the right: the symbol of one of the most important families in the history of Milan (and Italy), the Visconti family – the family that ruled Milan. There are a lot of legends about the origins of this heraldic symbol, representing a mythological animal with a human in his mouth (some believe it to be a dragon, but most likely a snake). During the time of the crusades, Otone Visconti , the founder of Visconti Family and a knight, fought against a noble Saracen knight (nomad from the Syrian Desert that bordered the Roman Empire). Otone beat the Saracen knight and, following the tradition, took the symbols the Saracen carried on his shield: a snake with a human in his mouth. At first glance, it looks like the snake is eating the human. Instead, the human is coming out of the snake a "new man," purified and renewed. The meaning: The snake is a circular animal (a snake can assume a circular position) and is an animal of the changing – able to change his skin regularly and totally renew or rebirth himself. BMW OK, I believe most, if not all MCFer knew that BMW stands for Bavarian Motor Works (Bayerische Motoren Werke in German). But how does the blue propeller styled logo come about? Although some associated it with a spinning aircraft propeller (BMW was once in aviation business too - producing aircraft engine under Rapp Motorenwerke), it is actually derived from the logo of Rapp Motorenwerke, from which the BMW company grew, whereas blue and white is the official colors of the Bavarian flag.

  12. Published on Apr 14, 2014 6:30 PM By Venessa Thor Some say it is meaningless. Others dismiss the logo as unfinished. Memes were also spun off, with one depicting it as a bar graph. Yes, the logo for the soon-to-be-opened National Gallery Singapore has been the subject of endless ridicule since it was revealed on April 2. The minimalist logo features two simple rectangular blocks - one taller and narrower than the other. The logo comes in either red or grey. Credit of the revamp goes to home-grown design firm Asylum. What was thought to be a belated April's Fool joke was actually the result of three months' worth of effort, Mr Chris Lee, founder of Asylum. Mr Lee defended his design, saying that the reductionism of the two blocks is open to interpretation, just like art. "The two blocks are originally derived from the two buildings that are joined to form the National Gallery. It could also represent two platforms or two dialog boxes. Art should be a two way conversation," he explained. While netizens bicker over whether the logo is abstract art or just plain ridiculous, we find three other logos that had also left many scratching their heads. London 2012 Olympics First unveiled in 2007, the colourful logo for the 2012 Olympic games in London was criticised as looking like something a child could draw with crayons. Others brayed that it resembled a swastika. Yet there were those who said it spelled the word "Zion" in a pro-Israeli conspiracy, which led Iran to threaten to boycott the Olympics. However, this boycott did not occur eventually. Sebastian Coe, the chairman of aid the chairman of London's 2012 organising committee, defended the logo, saying its vibrant colours and jagged design were meant to appeal to young people. "It is an invitation to take part and be involved." Gap In 2010, Gap changed its 20-year-old logo. The capitalised serif font, Spire, in a blue box was changed to one with 'Gap' in Helvetica, with the 'p' overlapping a small blue square. The new design was blasted as cheap and tacky. Gap quickly switched back to its original logo a week later. iTunes Fans were outraged when Apple switched the simple iTunes logo in 2010. The original design of a CD and a blue music note made its launch in 2001. It was replaced by that showing a black music note on a flat blue bubble in 2010. The switch was to reflect the trend towards digital downloads, and the growing obsoleteness of CDs. Users criticised the design as looking "amateurish". Apple founder Steve Jobs apparently replied in an e-mail to a complainant with just two words: "We disagree."

I have already emailed her an image of the Skoda logo so...... ANYONE INTERESTED?? Vagsg_T_shirt.bmp
