  1. As above, the honda civic 1.8 fuel tank capacity how much ah?? Thanks!
  2. Last July installed 2 no. FINE CR-200HD cameras with 'Power Magic' in continuous running mode. My 2l Picnic also has a typical Pioneer 7" Audio System with 2 front & back speaker and a pair of tweeter. Had 2 backseat LCD as well. After running the cameras for a 1-2 weeks my Alternator charging system happen to die off. (cost >S$2k to change, new battery is 45 AH.) Suspected the 'Power Magic' or the new installed cameras causing the problem. Re-installed to an original 'Power Magic' The problem now is the battery will drain off (unable to start up the car) if it is left for more than 1-2 days. Check with AD - no problem, check with camera installed guy - no problem as the Power Magic is able to power-off the cameras at a preset voltage of about 11.8VDC. They suggest replacing with a higher capacity battery. Any comment? Thanks.
  3. My guess is the fellow has been charged wrongly & paid someone's bill instead. Must make a point to note the pump number you pump your petrol from & confirm this before making payment at the counter. The most unlikely cause would be his fuel tank has a leak... In any case let's see what the dealer & petrol company response will be respectively. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...es_of_fuel.html Petrol kiosk bills driver for two extra litres of fuel STOMPer Don felt he was overcharged by a petrol kiosk in Bedok on Monday (Mar 12). According to the STOMPer, his car can only take in 45 litres of fuel but he was billed for over 47 litres of fuel. The STOMPer wrote: "I went to pump petrol into my Volkswagen polo 1.2 TSI and got a rude shock when the bill came up to $110! "Never have I had such an expensive petrol bill before. "As the receipt shows, 47.62 litres was pumped into my car, which only has a 45-litre tank. "Furthermore, my digital fuel meter gauge still showed about a quarter tank left when I was at the petrol station. "I am definitely bringing this up with ESSO and Volkswagen."

  5. When i first visit Japan Railway/MRT station...i notice that the station is longer than the train... I also notice that in Thailand (maybe because Thailand railway was done by Japan)... with this limitation, it is impossible for SMRT to increase the no of carriage per train... which I think is a easier and cheaper way to increase capacity... rather than spend money on the switching/lighting control... which spend millions for just marginal increase in capacity.... What projection SMRT or the government had done when they place the order for the MRT? when we started the MRT, out population was like 3 millions or less. if we are planning 4 millions or 5 millions population, the supporting infrastructure should be there too..is the authority are slacking and become short-sighted?
  6. I recently bought an XC90 which to my knowledge, is a 7 seater. 3 in 2nd row (behind driver and front passenger) and 2 in 3rd row. But I noticed the LTA Notice of Transfer of ownership as well as the insurance policy states the XC90 as a 6 seater. Does this mean I am not covered by insurance when I hav 7 ppl in the car? Abit like how most taxis will not carry 4 passengers in the back seat (always claim insurance don't cover 5 passengers). Anyone who knows please help!

  15. 1. I'm of the opinion that we don't need cab with big CC in Singapore. 2L engine is more than enough for them to roam around from one corner to another Singapore. 2. Bigger engine let the cab uncles have the tendency to chiong and most of them can't keep to their lane especially at cornering with their bigger cars. Regards,
  16. Is it generally true that when we upgrade we tend to buy the next car with bigger cc? Does this make sense? When we upgrade it means we are moving towards a better option? Big cc cars mean worse oil consumption do you really need a 2L car in Singapore the only difficult hill to climb is Mount Faber how many of us drive to Mount faber most of us are already past the pat tor stage already
  17. Reported on the Chinese evening papers tonight. One uncle drove his Toyota Estima to a petrol station in Yishun. The receipt showed that 75 litres of petrol was pumped into the 65-litre capacity fuel tank. How could that have happen? Sometimes, it's good to check your receipt.

  19. Is it true that a car with a smaller engine capacity is more fuel efficient? Take the example of Toyota Passo. It comes in 1.0L and 1.3L versions. Given the same configurations except for the engine size, is the 1.0L more fuel efficient than the 1.3L? Please enlighten.
