  2. TL;DR - Shame shame as this cheapo Toyota Hiace evades parking fee by tailgating after alighting passengers at Parklane. To be specific, a couple of well-endowed chio-bus’. This Hiace driver in the video seems like a pretty experienced tailgater. Watch this 84-second video clip to see what i mean. What happened? The incident took place at Parklane shopping mall’s car park where the Hiace tried to follow closely (and succeeded) to tailgate the car in front of him, just to avoid paying for parking. The video footag shows that the driver had just dropped a group of skimpily dressed ‘chio-bus’ (not that we can tell from the footage but I’d think so) off, where netizens are assuming they are working at one of the bars/KTV there. Online Chatter Undoubtedly, there has been an increased occurrence of payment evasion offences, with most being committed by tailgating. Is it worth committing an offence just to save a few bucks? Hmm. Cautionary Reminder A motorist who fails to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and as a result is involved in an accident, may be charged with the offence of Driving Without Due Care or Reasonable Consideration. The first offence carries a fine not exceeding $1,500, an imprisonment term not exceeding six months, or both. Subsequent offences carry higher penalties. 4. The high profile divorce suit between socialite Jamie Chua and Indonesian tycoon Nurdian Cuaca was settled yesterday. The couple came to a settlement under confidential terms following which a freeze on Mr Cuaca's $93 million worth of assets was lifted by the High Court yesterday. Chua, 36, was seeking $450,000 a month in maintenance from Cuaca based on the previous standard of living with her husband. According to the Straits Times, Mr Cuaca is known to spend around $303,000 a month for more than 27 months. He also has cash in the bank and trading share accounts, together worth some $15.4 million. Mr Cuaca's other assets include two houses in Sentosa Cove and in Hong Kong worth $14.6 million, $79.2 million in shares in a private company, his wine collection and his three cars - a Lamborghini, a Porsche and a Ferrari. Madam Chua was a former flight stewardess and is currently the managing director of the Manolo Blahnik Singapore shoe boutique. She is also frequently spotted at high society events in Singapore. 5. frozen to die :( http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/family-says-woman-died-cryotherapy-chamber-seconds Medical examiners told the family of a woman who died last week in a cryotherapy chamber at a south valley business that her death happened in "seconds." Chelsea Ake-Salvacion, 24, of Las Vegas, was identified at the Clark County coroner's office by her uncle, Albert Ake, hours after her body was found Tuesday, he told the Review-Journal on Sunday. That same day, investigators at the coroner's office told him it was too soon to tell what caused his niece's death, but she died in seconds, Ake said. They told him they were looking into the gases she inhaled before her death, as well as the chamber's mechanics and whether she could keep her head above the chamber to breathe. Rejuvenice, where Ake-Salvacion worked and died, offers facials and whole-body cryotherapy, which involves brief exposures to air temperatures below minus 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Some athletes say the regimen enhances recovery after exercise and helps rehabilitation after injury. Cryotherapy is described as the use of low temperatures for "medical therapy," the center's website said. It's been used as "early as the seventeenth century." Ake-Salvacion's family disagrees with TV news reports that said the woman's death was the result of operator error. She was an aesthetician and a chamber operator, her uncle said. "She knew exactly what she was doing," Ake said. She had done the procedures many times, prompting her bosses to promote her to a management position at the center, 8846 S. Eastern Ave., near Pebble Road, Ake said. On Oct. 19, Ake-Salvacion worked as the center's night supervisor. She was seen on video cameras closing the business, he said. She was last seen on video walking to the back of the center. Her body was found when the business reopened Tuesday morning, Ake said. Coroner's office staff said Saturday she was declared dead at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. A Rejuvenice employee who called to give the family condolences told the family it was common for employees to use the machine on their own and with no supervision, Ake said. It still isn't clear how Ake-Salvacion died. The center's website advertises two machines, the "Cryosauna" and the "Cryochamber." The first is a single-user device in which the user's head sticks out the top. Video of the chamber in the website shows a TV host's head sticking out of it while gas billows from underneath. The Cryochamber requires users to wear a mask, earmuffs, slippers, gloves and underwear. The Cryosauna does not require users to wear a mask or earmuffs. It wasn't immediately clear which machine Ake-Salvacion used. Ake-Salvacion's family said they don't want to speculate about what caused her death. The family asked for privacy until the coroner's report is complete, her uncle said. Her autopsy was scheduled for today, and lab results won't be available for six to eight weeks. Ake-Salvacion was passionate about her job, her uncle said. The Honolulu native was well-loved by her family. She was "a great woman who will be missed," Ake said. "We're just all mourning." She was planning to move home next year after she gained more experience at the center, Ake said. She also had a job at the Commonwealth. "Anyone who knows Chelsea knows that she's a kindhearted and sweet person," Ake said. "She made sure that she made everybody comfortable and she was there (for them)." Her funeral is scheduled for Thursday in Honolulu, Ake said.

  8. Chinese actress Ai Ru, who shot to fame after being crowned the winner of the 7th Miss Tourism Competition in 2009, and subsequently starred in the hit TV series Naked Wedding Age in 2011, surprised football fans when she was named as the president of Sichuan Lidashi Football Club. Now Ai has become the spokesperson and ambassador of the football club, according to an article in Asian Town. Lots of football insiders were very surprised and confused upon learning that an actress, who seemingly has little connection to sport, has become the youngest top leader of a Chinese football club. Despite being newly established, the football team has excellent coaches and a professional management team, and their results of warm-up matches have so far been satisfactory. WHY S-League dont have this kind of Manager? Sure player motivation up 200%
  9. I am sure many will be dying to meet her. I think funeral services should be quite a profitable business if you can get past the taboo factor. I just wonder where they get morticians from and what's the pay like. I heard in SGH, it is a bangala who cuts open the cadavers while the doc just examines the organs???
  10. Eliza Lee, 22, is not only a fresh graduate who studied at a top secondary school, she is also from a wealthy family and used to be chauffeured home from school. Despite her background, she chose to marry a chicken rice seller. According to an article in the New Paper, Miss Lee is the daughter of parents who own a bag-manufacturing business and has a bachelor's degree in hospitality management from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). She is engaged to 32-year-old Michael Poh, who owns a chicken rice stall. Despite her pampered background, Miss Lee has been helping out at her fiance's stall for 10 to 15 hours everyday, 7 days a week. Before she started helping out at the stall, says her fiance, Miss Lee had 'not touched a drop of detergent'. The prospect of being a hawker's wife has never bothered her, says Miss Lee. Miss Lee's mindset is rare among Singaporean women her age. Most university graduates would not consider marrying a blue-collar worker. Mr Poh affirmed this by saying he has experienced his fair share of snobbery from ex-girlfriends, and says that women like his fiance are rare. And why did Miss Lee choose to be with Mr Poh? She says they 'click' and that they have endless conversations. They also share a common goal of building a comfortable life together. Mr Poh, who has a diploma is sociology, says: "To find another one like Eliza, who would go through thick and thin with me, is mission impossible." In a poll conducted by the New Paper, 100 percent of 50 female undergraduates aged 21 to 28 said they would not date a blue-collar worker.
