  1. All I can say is that Singapore is really NOT a place for car lovers. Beside the ultra high vehicle taxes and ownership cost, car meetups also need a Police Permit?! So should our police demand the same for those cyclists who get together every weekend in big group, posing hazards and risk to other road users?? Police warns organisers of convoy gatherings to abandon plans; 5 men under investigation The police said they are aware of planned gatherings of vehicles to travel in a convoy at various locations over the long weekend They warned that doing so is an offence punishable with fine or jail, or both They said that five men are under investigation for organising two convoy gatherings last week They are also looking into a meet up of car enthusiasts last week at an open air carpark at Decathlon Kallang The police said on Monday (May 2) they are aware of planned gatherings for vehicles to travel in a convoy at various locations over the long weekend, warning that doing so is an offence that could land the organisers in jail. In a statement, the police said it is investigating two incidents last week in which vehicles were driven in a convoy. The authorities are also looking into a third incident involving a gathering of car enthusiasts at an open air carpark in Kallang. Five men, aged between 22 and 26, have been identified as organisers of the convoy events, though the police did not reveal their names. They are now under investigation for “conducting an event on the road or part thereof without a permit”, the police said. “The police would like to remind the public that conducting an event on any road or part thereof without a police permit is illegal in Singapore and we will not hesitate to take firm action against those who choose to flout our laws,” it said. Under the Road Traffic Act, any person convicted of conducting any event on any road could be fined S$1,000 or jailed up to three months, or both. Repeat offenders are liable for double the punishment — a S$2,000 fine or up to six months’ jail, or both.
  2. SINGAPORE - Guitarist, singer, TikTok sensation and now, motorcyclist - Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has been showing he is a man of many talents outside of the office. Mr Wong, who is also Finance Minister, rode a Royal Enfield Classic 500 motorcycle as part of a convoy on Sunday (Aug 14) to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Foundation. Organised by Riders Aid Singapore, the event saw the convoy flagging off from Tampines Heavy Vehicle Carpark at about 1pm. More than 700 motorcyclists turned up at the event. Mr Suriya Kumar, president of Riders Aid Singapore, said about $30,000 has been raised so far. DPM Wong joined the convoy at about 1.45pm as they rode from Al-Istighfar Mosque in Pasir Ris to Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple about 1km away. At the temple, he gave a speech thanking the organisers for giving him the chance to ride a motorcycle after more than 20 years. "I haven't done it for 20 over years already, the last time I did it was when I was a student in America," he said. DPM Wong, who holds Class 2, 2A and 2B licences, said he picked up riding when he was a student in the United States, and previously owned a Suzuki street bike that he used to get around the city of Madison in Wisconsin. "When I returned home and started work, I had a scooter for a period of time," he said. "But it has been more than 20 years since I last rode a bike. So I was glad to have the opportunity to ride with Riders Aid Singapore this time to support a good cause." DPM Wong autographed the motorcycle that was provided for him to use during the event. It will be kept as a display piece by the dealership in Ubi. Mr Kumar said he had reached out to DPM Wong to be the guest of honour at the event after hearing from a grassroots leader that the minister used to ride motorcycles in his younger days. "We reached out to him, and we were very surprised when he said he wanted to ride a bike by himself," he said. "Usually, our guests of honour would just ride pillion so we were all very excited." As a token of appreciation, Mr Kumar presented DPM Wong with a painting of him with a motorcycle. Didn't know our DPM got 2B, 2A and 2 license. Now I can call him ah bang already. He just went from Lawrence Wong to Lawrence Wong. But after 20 years of not riding, hope he went for some refreshment lessons before going on the road lol. Before 14th August 2022. After 14 August 2022.
  3. Hi all m just wondering after covic19, i prefer to drive, if possible, to next vacation. Its safer than being in a confined cabin in a plane. R there any group drives being organised for a safe drive up north to KL or Kuantan pls? M planning fer a post covic19 drive up.
  4. Just purchased a box of walkie talkies ( 4 in a box ) for $50+ and I did a little short range test just to find out the sound quality and having a little fun. Great to have on a convoy trip with your friends , or when visiting theme parks or zoo etc.. where everyone can roam around freely and then call each other for a meal or drink together. Well, at least without incurring overseas charges. For about $12 to $13 per piece.. the price is unbeatable. Not selling nor am I a vendor. So please do not PM or ask me where to buy. Online do your homework. https://youtu.be/UaJwRp-45P4

  14. I cant believe that TMJ car is being escorted by one of our Singapore Police vehicles. This vehicle dont even bother to keep to proper lane and used up lane 1 and 2 at only 110km/hour. When people behind wants to overtake to be nearer to TMJ car, a V6 Perdana will simply CUT you in from lane 2 to lane 1 without any signaling. And the stupid siren will go off to ask u to F off from their sight when they approach. Get this clear. This is Singapore, not Johor Malu. How can we waste polis resources on Sultans who is a foreigner and not even a politician.
