  1. My parents condo unit is leaking water badly in recent days. The water is coming into the unit from the cracks in the corner of the bed room is so bad, one full pail of blackish water accumulated in rain of yesterday when I went to check at 6pm. Complained to the management. They said the outside wall no cracks, so cannot be from the wall. The exterior hired contractor did the water test on one other unit above(who also faced water leaks into unit) and and the contractor dared to claim the wall is not the problem. The contractor claimed the water leaked into the window frame of the unit above and somehow leaked thru the crakes in the concrete to the unit below. This contractor really know how to taichi their responsibility. This same contractor was paid close to $1mill by the condo to patch up all cracks and repaint the condo in 2011. So now the warranty period the same contractor tried to taichi the problem away, and the joke is the management also kena hoodwinked by them. The contractor told the management to ask the window manufacturer how to seal up the water drain holes on the window frame, as the leaks happen due to water accumulate in the frame! If the water leak is around the window frame, then it's may be from the windows. But the leak is coming from the ceiling concrete cracked line(visible cracke lines in the ceiling concrete). Still the contractor insist that my parents ask the upper floor uniti to test water on their window frame to identify the water leak. I heard what my parent told me........I was stunt. Any one here is waterproofing expert? I need to patch up the cracks in my parents unit ceiling and wall. I need some expert that can apply pressure injection expoxy into the cracked lines into the concrete. To stop the water leakage. I don't care about the outside wall cracks as no-one believed the water came from the cracked outside wall n hard to identify the cracked outside wall because a fresh coat of paint was applied to the entire estate in 2011 reprinting exercise. Any one can recommend a expert ceiling crack repair expert?
  2. hi all, any advice on where can i get a replacement stop valve (red arrow - see attached pic) ? I think the one in my toilet as water keeps leaking into the toilet bowl after the cistern is refilled. I've tried many hardware stores but none of them sells it and they could not tell me where to get. Just keep saying "another hardware shop" toilet.bmp

  5. Hi guys/gals I owned a 06 trajet and found that its leaking gearbox oil. There will also be a great-felt jerk when changing from gear 2 to gear 3. Does this mean gearbox kaput liao? Other then this, it still drive smoothly. No high revs and all. What are the things that could happen? Need to find out some info 1st before headin to the workshop. Scared workshop easy way out is too overhaul or change recond gearbox. Pls advise. Or any trajet owners scrapping their car maybe I can swap your gearbox?
  6. I live in an old 1960s apartment and I noticed in late December that water was leaking from the false ceiling in my toilet, right above the toilet bowl. Became worse 2 days later. Called NTUC Home Income services. The contractor came 5 hours later and sliced the false ceiling. He said it was bad. He found the concrete dislodged. The steel bars are exposed. Water is dripipping from the steel bar area. The owner above told me a tenant is living above and he is overseas. Anyone knows what are the next series of events I should expect? I am thinking that their toilet floor and bottom wall tiles (20 cm) have to be hacked off. Toilet bowl, sink all have to be removed. And a contractor needs to apply the water proof membrane on the whole floor and 20 cm of the wall tiles. The whole process may take 4 days. Should I alert the owner that her tenant would need to find an alternative place to stay for 4 days otherwise he will not be able to use the toilet and bath?
  7. Hi Needing to top up coolant once a week, are these coolant leaking? Any idea where is the likely source? Is is expensive to repair? Am driving a Skoda. Thanks for the advice.

  9. Hi guys, just wanted to find out if is it normal for a 9 year old car to have minor engine oil leaks ? I found out that by doing some test : ie putting some newspaper underneath the engine. Every morning saw a slight dip on the paper...And I have sent this to the workshop - the above issue was repaired (with replacing some oil gasket and stuff) when the oil leak was bigger portion. But this issue came back with minor oil dip now.. Also, after parking car , i always can smell the fuels odour smell coming from fuels tank and underneath (not exos since exos smell is different). Sent to workshop , there was some leak from the fuels reservoir tank , the technician apply some residue to 'wash away' the fuels and the workshop manager request to apply gum on the leak area since it is old car. No point replacing . The good thing is the salesperson is a responsible person and absorb about 80% of the repair payment . But the fuels odour came back again. Darn it..how.. My previous Mitsubishi dun have such issue except throttle valve which cost me close to S$1K.
  10. Hi guys, just wondering if any of you have this issue and how do you solve it. Over the weekend it was pouring rain heavily, and i drove my whole family out for dinner then realised that my rear left door is leaking. My mum who was sitting behind told me that. So how or what can i do to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.

  12. Hello everyone, Found a small reddish oil patch on the car porch tiles this morning. Dropped by workshop during lunch and was told the power steering rack is leaking, an entire replacement unit cost in excess a thousand bucks. As I'm planning to scrap vehicle in 3 months time, mechanic advised me to perform a check every morning and top-up if necessary. Is there any way to plug the leak temporally? Was told leak will get worst over time. More importantly, are there any safety issues to be worried about? Thank you.
  13. My 5 years old storage tank above my false ceiling suddenly decides to leak today. I called the plumber and he suggests changing the whole tank. I am thinking that since this is going to happen, I might also get a rain shower at the same time. Anyone know of a good place to get them?
  14. hi i need help in the identification of part that is leaking on my car..any recommendation on repairs?
  15. anyone kenah this scenario before ? my downstairs neighbor sold his flat abotu 2 months back and the new occupants just moved in. prior to moving in, the new occupants did some renovation works. last week, after the officially moved in for 3 weeks, a HDB officer came to my house and told us that the flat downstairs is complaining that water from our unit is leaking into their toilets from the ceilings !! the officer even told us she was given a VIDEO of the water seeping through the ceiling !! now the HDB officer "offer" us to settle the leaking issue based on the standard HDB absorb 50% and the two owners (upstairs and downstairs) split the balance 50% half/half. I managed to get in touch with the previous occupant and asked them if they ever had any leakage issues when they were staying there and they told me that for the past 20 years, no issue at all !! now the new occupant move in and did renovation works, the ceiling start to leak ?? I am saying that their renovation contractor did a lousy job and caused the ceiling to be compromised and now we, on the upper floor have to pay for their incompetency !! anyone encounter this and did not pay for the rectifications ?

  20. As above. My tyre lost about 23.6% of the tyre pressure within a week. I normally pump the 2 front tyres 250. But about a week later, my front left is 236 and my front right is 196. A drastic drop. Can I still continue to drive it? Actually, it has been like this for weeks. But just that I pump every few days to compensate the loss. My tyres are reaching 40K (38Kplus) and 2 years in a month more time. Should I change now, or should I tahan until 40k?
  21. Anybody encounter exhaust leaking very frequently? My leaking always come back after my trip back from malacca.
  22. Hi bros. Am driving a 2006 EX Sunny. Recently noticed my wiper water runs out every 2 days after i fill it up. Just tried again just now and noticed after filling the water drips out.Any workshops to recommend fixing this? or any DIY methods available? Thanks
  23. Discovered a small leakage near the mouth of the hose, it was foaming bubbles, check and tighten the hose, so confirmed not hose leak or lose clamp. 24. Recently , due to my careless, I went over a kurb on my right rear side tyre. I was assuming it is a normal knock , nothing much. Next day, found out tyre went flat and went to workshop for repair. The technician found out the leakage is from the side surface( see picture). He did the repair(using rubber injection to prevent leak) and advice this won't last long, the side surface don't have wire mesh protection. he recommend to change a new tyre ASAP before the tyre will bust on road and cause accident. If really require to change the new tyres , it is a question to save the $$$ or wait until it burst again , my tyre are just 3 months old. I had been driving for nearly a week after the repair, so far so good , had no leakage , no weird steering feeling. Could I get some advice that is technician trying to b-u-ll-s-hi-t me by his sales talk ? Or it is highly recommend to change ASAP , don't save the money in exchange for the future accident ?
  25. .................... Did an oil change today n noticed oil stains below on my car after the oil pan area... (Not on the ground) Asked the Mech n he says its my power steering fluid... I check all my car's fluids whenever I open my bonnet... Which is every other time I wash my car... Which is pretty often.... And have not had any fluids been below the max mark.... So now should i..... 1) just drive as per normal.... Until my steering gets too heavy or noisy.... 2) get it fixed... Which i guess i hv no idea why to change or just a seal? I had a friend who had no problems with his power steering, he so called flushed it with new fluid... And problems n sounds came... The fluid change might not hv been the cause of his problems but is the steering just like the aircon? Not spoilt don't backside itchy renew oil n top up gas when its fine? Your expert views will be much appreciated.
