  6. Hey guys I looked through some of the older posts but couldnt find any info on the "hard rubber" type mats. I remember my college room mate had these in his car (not sure if it was because of the the winter weather). anyway, noticed most of the car mats are the 3M nomad type (or the "frilly" / soft type for trapping dirt) however .. i find that they always wear out extremely fast (my car came with carbon fibre ones, but my shoes have worn out the CF plate >< ) also, any recommendations for a decent vacuum? or should i just buy a generic one (gf freaked out today when a bug was found in the car .. so i think i need to start vacuuming ...) appreciate the help!

  15. Toyota: 3.8 million cars with risky floor mats NHTSA and world's largest automaker warn vehicle owners to remove driver's side floor mats in 7 Lexus and Toyota models. NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Toyota issued a safety warning for 3.8 million Lexus and Toyota cars because of potentially deadly floor mats. In statements released Tuesday, the world's largest automaker and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warned drivers to remove the mats or risk a forced-down accelerator pedal that could lead to a fatal crash. The seven models being recalled could potentially have removable mats that would interfere with the pedal and cause it to stick. "A stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death," said Toyota in its statement. Though Toyota recalled accessory all-weather floor mats in 2007 for similar problems, NHTSA noted that reports of vehicles accelerating rapidly even after the release of the pedal have continued. In a statement posted on the automaker's Web site earlier this month, Toyota said that preliminary information from investigators indicated that a fatal crash involving a family driving a 2009 ES350 loaned by a local Lexus dealer in San Diego could have been caused by an all-weather floor mat interfering with the accelerated pedal because of a faulty mat installation. "There is an urgent matter," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood in the NHTSA statement. "For everyone's sake, we strongly urge owners of these vehicles to remove mats or other obstacles that could lead to unintended acceleration." Toyota has announced that it will soon launch a safety recall to redress the problem, but NHTSA and the automaker warn Toyota and Lexus drivers of certain models to remove that floor mats sooner for safety. The Toyota models being impacted are: 2007-2010 Camry, 2005-2010 Avalon, 2004-2009 Prius, 2005-2010 Tacoma and 2007-2010 Tundra. The Lexus models facing the safety recall are the 2007-2010 ES 350, and the 2006-2010 IS 250 and IS 350.
  16. Anyone can recommend me any shops that can custom make the above mentioned for the Honda FIT? Asking on the behalf of a friend.
  17. How do you guys wash and dry this mat? I have trouble cleaning it, no matter how much I spray with water, the dirt seems to be endless And when I dry it, I take 2 days... How do you guys get it to the shiny black condition like a newly detailed car? Is this normal?
  18. Hi all, This is the first sample of car mats provided by Jackson Vehicle. Attached are the comments: - Deeper shade of green preferred for the Skoda logo. - 2 front mats: I'd suggest that the mounting holes for both right and left mats to be installed at the same level. The lengths of the mats are different. Prefer if the mats are of the same length, so that positions of the mounting holes can be levelled. - On some pictures, the 'SUPERB' letterings seem to be slanted. Check that the top edges of the letterings are flushed. - 'SUPERB' lettering on rear centre mat: fit to the centre of the mat. Looking forward to your comments. PS: These mats are exclusively for SOG members. Similar mats for Octavia can also be fabricated.
  19. Hi.. wondering if anyone of you have tried out this inexpensive soundproofing mat? It's supposedly from Korea... CableHunter. How does it compare to the Accumats and Dynamat? Thanxx..

  21. What is the big deal with 3M Berber custom cut car mats? They look like industrial grade door mats to my eyes... So, are there other 3M car mat fabrics available? Is there any other 'premium' branded custom car floor mat type I should be asking for? The regular soft pile mats in my MPV are taking a beating, and likely will not stand up to a good wash or vacuum, I think. Any help or input greatly appreciated!
  22. Buying on behalf of uncle, got mine expensive. So checking with you guys here if you know where to get cheap (
