  2. Hi, If you got a pair of two-way component speakers in front and a pair of two-way co-axial speakers at the rear powered by a decent 4 channel amplifier, is it still necessary to install a subwoofer plus dedicated amp in the boot? I certainly do not want to get that thunderous killer bass which can be heard outside of the car! Thanks.
  3. Enrich your in-car listening with the XS-AW8 compact powered subwoofer. The slim design allows installation in restricted spaces, and fills your car with 160W peak (75W RMS) of clean, dynamic bass. A supplied wired remote enables convenient level control from the driver's seat. Product Highlights: 1. Ultra-sleek, shallow subwoofer No space for a big subwoofer enclosure? At only 7.8cm deep, the XS-AW8 powered subwoofer fits in tight spaces in your vehicle for powerful bass sound throughout the car. 2. Optimally Designed Driver Unit and Low-Resonance Cast-Aluminium Enclosure To reproduce powerful bass sound from its compact dimensions, the slim enclosure is paired with a unique rigid subwoofer diaphragm. The built-in amplifier also integrates a sturdy heat-sink to protect the driver unit and amp without introducing unwanted vibrations and harmonic distortion. 3. Supplied Wired Remote Commander A supplied wired remote commander allows you to adjust the subwoofer volume from the driver's seat. 4. High Level Input/Audio Line Input What if you're using a factory radio that doesn't have pre-amp outputs? Simply connect the speaker outputs of your receiver to the high-level inputs. When pre-out audio signals are available from the receiver, connect them to the CH1(R) and CH2(L) terminals. Compatibility with up to 5V pre-outs means you can utilise higher voltage audio input for a clean audio signal and less external noise. 5. Single-Sided Controls and Terminals Connections and amplifier controls are together on the same side for easy installation and tuning. The amplifier features a variable low-pass filter for simple connection to full-range sources, including the speaker-level inputs. 6. 160W Peak (75W RMS) Output Power Fill your car with 160W (75W RMS) of clean, dynamic bass sound with our original power IC. The matched class A/B amp is designed for high power and natural, distortion-free sound even at high output levels. Pair the Sony XS-AW8 with the Sony Media Receiver to save more! Where To Buy? 4. Hi All, I'm mulling over these 2 brands. Audison APBX DS10 (4 + 4 ohms, 400 RMS, no frequency response numbers) or JL Audio CS110TG-TW3 (400 RMs @ 2ohms, 24 to 200 Hz)? Anyone has experience in either of these subs? Thanks. I have Audison monoblock AP1D 540 RMS 2 ohms. Also, why is audison rating 4 + 4 ohms?
  5. ** mod: please post in the market place.
  6. Hi all, Any compact and good subwoofer to intro? Current setup is helix front and back speaker with Rainbow beat amp. The current sound is very good, but somehow rather lack of bass and bom bom feeling.
  7. I was wondering how to hook up a sub if you have one or two voice coils, and how it affects the impedance, which of course determines what kind of amp you should be looking for. This website shows you the various wiring options and the effect on the impedance the amp sees: This is the 1sub 4ohm 2 voice coil model: http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/How-to-Wire-One-Dual-4-Ohm-Voice-Coil-Subwoofer You can play with the options and see what suits you best.
  8. Do anyone know which ICE shop is selling this??? Saw some review online saying that this is a very good subwoofer. Wanna do add a subwoofer to my ride. Anyone have good shop to recommend??? Read more here.

  11. Hi guys~ Just changed to a hatchback and looking to install my previous system into the new car. But as its a hatchback and a lack of space, wanna try to integrate the subwoofer into the spare wheel slot, mounted on a board with another board over it with a clear acrylic window to show the woofer. It seems most of the workshops I asked didnt seem too keen or able to do a custom boot board and looking for a recommendations to a shop which is known for these custom jobs. Something like this: Kena carrot a few times but still a greenie to ICE. Hope to learn more here!
  12. Hi.. Using a factory fit oem head unit.. Previous owner had change the front 2 speakers.. Was wondering if I had a subwoofer installed.. 1) do I need a amplifier? 2) if I dun.. How will the sound quality.. I just want the boom effect..
  13. Hi All, Any Guru have tried either one of these active subwoofer to be mounted under the front seats. 1) Kenwood KSC-SW10 2) Blaupunkt THb200A Want to know which one is value for money and pricing? Thanks.
  14. Hi. Anyone got any active subwoofer to recommend? Just saw a 8" Target one. Good enough for me unless I am comparing to those normal box type subwoofer. Anyone bros got any good recommendation? SLT got few at 100+ only. Dun know how is the quality.
  15. To all the experts & bros here, Example #1: A subwoofer manufacturer stipulates that for a sealed enclosure, the typical enclosure volume is 1 cubic-ft in order for the woofer to deliver its optimum performance. Question #1: Does the above means the sealed enclosure of 1 cubic-ft is the net useable internal air volume? Question #2: Does the above means the sealed enclosure of 1 cubic-ft is the net useable internal air volume excluding the physical volume of the subwoofer after assembled in the sealed enclosure? Example #2: The specs of a 12-in subwoofer is as follows
  16. Hope someone can help me with the below... I just collected my car from the workshop, and since they disconnected my car batteries, my HU settings were lost. I did have a copy made of my previous settings, so most of the equaliser setup is fine, however I did feel the bass was weak... I suspect that is because i accidentally fiddled with the Rear/Preout settings.... At the moment, its Rear = Full PreOut = Full Is that correct? My Head unit is connected to a 4ch Amp, which powers my front components and a passive Subwoofer at the back. My rear (fill) speakers are connected to the HU directly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  17. customized subwoofer wif acrylic enclosure. combined effort wif my frd...quite siong but worth d effort. diy is really fun! nxt project : acrylic speaker board!!!
  18. Currently using an OZ audio vector 3 12" sub woofer running off alpine MRP650 monoblock (400W at 4ohm, 600W at 2ohm). Thinking of upgrading and my installer has given me 2 options. Both are 12 inch subwoofers but I think the genesis is running at 4ohm while the ME is at 2ohm. Both comes with DVC. 1) Genesis Audiophile 30.1 Subwoofer http://www.genesiscaraudio.net/speakers/au...0.01/index.html 2) OZ audio Matrix Elite 12 sub woofer http://www.ozaudio.com/pages/ME12.html The genre of music I usally listen to is usually vocals with a little pop/rock at times. Any advice or experience with the 2 subs? Any other recommendations for subs will do as well. I have listened to the Genesis sub in my car but have not tried the ME in my car yet. Would welcome anyone willing to lend me the ME for a while to audit. Thanks in advance.
  19. Hello all, I drive a Suzuki Swift and you'd probably know the boot space is pathetic. So I cannot afford space for a sub-woofer box. I've heard of active sub, which is the size of an amp that I can install beneath the front seats. I wonder if active-sub is good enough or better than the traditional setup of a sub-woofer box in the boot? And do active-sub cost?
  20. I'm interested to improve my stock audio sound by adding an active subwoofer ... can anyone over here suggest some brands and its model for me? thanks!!
  21. Anyone tried, seen, heard, or used this? Wonder how does it compare with the Pioneer TS-WX22A. Any feedback is appreciated. By the way, it is rated at 300W Max whereas the Pioneer one is only 150W.
  22. Hi, ICE newbie here, just saw quite a lot cheap sub woofer were sold in Sim Lim Tower, 10" JBL, pioneer are only sold less than $100, extra $30-50 for the box, just wondering the SQ of these cheap sub woofer, any comments? Thanks
  23. Just got a 10" alpine subwoofer and enclosure. May I know what's the best position to place the woofer in the trunk? Thanks. Cheers TL
  24. Read through alot of threads with highend subwoofers. I have a Alpine 9807 HU, any recommendation for a not-so-bad subwoofer just to make my music sound better?
  25. Hi guys, my sub gives me a sudden boom like a full discharge time to time(avg once per week). This happens when even when i'm playing soft sentimental songs. Have anyone encountered this? Could it be a grounding problem or a phase or cabling issue? I'm using an infinity basslink 200Wamp with 8" woofer
