We ain't Singapore, Singaporeans (new NDP theme song) http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/we-aint-singapore-singaporeans-new-ndp-theme-song-5124890-2.html There was a time when people said That Singapore will shine on, but we didn't There was a time when riots no longer happened and we were happy then they did Our little nation, squeezed and mean, quarreling with one another Where's peace and harmony? This ain't my country, is that my flag? I have no future, I have no life My family is suffering, my friends have left We ain't Singapore, Singaporeans Singapore so glitzy, it’s a chalet but nothing more Foreigners united, they are showing us the door We’ve ended up so broken, our soul-less destiny Singapore at 50, a nation on its knees This ain't my country, is that my flag? I have no future, I have no life My family is suffering, my friends have left We ain't Singapore, Singaporeans We ain't Singapore, we ain't Singapore We will kneel together and see the lion crawl We ain't Singapore, we ain't Singapore We’re a SG50 but nothing more

LifestyleStory Angry Birds Activity Park in Johor Baru is 20 minutes away from Woodlands checkpoint PUBLISHED ON OCT 27, 2014 A new indoor theme park, the Angry Birds Activity Park, is coming up and it is just a 20-minute drive from the Woodlands Checkpoint. Named after the popular mobile app, it will be housed in a new shopping centre in Johor Baru (JB), Komtar JBCC. -- PHOTO: THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK BY JALELAH ABU BAKER Singapore - A new indoor theme park, the Angry Birds Activity Park, is coming up and it is just a 20-minute drive from the Woodlands Checkpoint. Named after the popular mobile app, it will be housed in a new shopping centre in Johor Baru (JB), Komtar JBCC. Games like Lazer Bird Shoot, Red Bird Goal, Piggy Shooting Gallery and Captain Black Bird Ship - featuring characters from the app - can be expected at the park. The opening date of the park, a joint venture between real estate company Damansara Assets and Angry Birds app maker Rovio Entertainment, has not been announced yet. According to the park's official Facebook page, it will be "soon". Introductory single entry tickets are priced at RM75 ($29.20), while family tickets that admit two adults and two children are priced at RM230 ($89.55). The theme park is an addition to JB's other three parks: Legoland, Playtime (where the Sanrio Hello Kitty Town is), and KSL Dinosaur Water Park on the 7th floor of a hotel (where dinosaurs fitted with sensors move when people are nearby). It will be an option for Singapore families looking for alternatives to Universal Studios Singapore. - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/travel/story/angry-birds-activity-park-johor-baru-20-minutes-away-woodlands-checkpoint-201#sthash.wpmtk6Ne.dpuf
  6. The National Day Parade theme song, which has long been one of the hallmarks of Singapore's birthday celebrations on Aug 9, will be scrapped this year. This will be the first time since 1998 that there will not be an NDP theme song. Instead, parade spectators will be singing familiar and popular songs such as Home and Count On Me Singapore. They will be among 10 songs to be compiled into an NDP 2014 Songs Album. This is in line with this year's theme, Our People, Our Home, said the parade's executive committee chairman, Wong Yu Han, who added that such familiar songs "deeply engage" Singaporeans. "This year, what we want to do is to get our people to bring us back again to those familiar songs that we have grown up with and, importantly, learning to sing together." http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/no-new-theme-song-years-ndp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTkVG6lWvwY FAVORITE! The new songs are unable to strike a chord with Singaporeans at all. I wonder why... OLD IS GOLD.

  13. Ticket prices for theme park By Lim Wei Chean, Correspondent UNIVERSAL Studios on Wednesday announced the long-awaited ticket prices for its theme park on Sentosa. A one-day pass for weekdays will cost $66 for adults, $48 for children and $32 for senior citizens. For weekends, public holidays and eve of public holidays, a day-pass will cost $72, $52 and $36 respectively. The express pass is $30 for weekdays and non-school holidays, $48 for weekday rates during school holidays, and $68 for weekends and black-out dates. This express pass will give the ticket holder priority access to all the attractions and rides within the theme park. The number of such passes are limited daily. Visitors to the park need pay only one price to get access to 24 attractions, 20 of which will be open when the park is ready for operations, along with 30 themed restaurants and food carts, as well as another 20 retail shops and kiosks. The theme park is expected to greet its first visitors early next year when the $6.59 billion integrated resort, Resorts World at Sentosa, opens its doors. In the first phase of its opening, it will open the theme park, casino, four hotels, a theatre with a aerial circus show and a half-kilometre strip of restaurants, bars and retail outlets. 16. My personal view for this year National Day theme song doesn't sound so patriotic like those from the past years. Still fresh in my mind is the theme song "Stand Up For Singapore" when we celebrate's 25 Years as nation building and the best theme songs of all is "Count On Me, Singapore" which sound so patriotic to every Singaporean to play a part for the nation. Some of the good ones are "One People, One Nation, One Singapore" and "We Are Singapore". This year song doesn't strike a cord in me when watching it over the TV and even over the radio, they don't play so offen. In the past, one month before our National Day, they are playing it every hour. Maybe the economic downturn also plays a part .......
