They should not be side by side as well, as they took the middle lane in order to keep right to filter to Upper Serangoon / Bartley, while the left most lane goes to CTE. They should be following what the others are doing, keeping left all the way until it's time to filter right, like you've pointed out. And if the time stamp is accurate, it's past midnight when traffic should be light. Why scared cannot filter right and go to the middle so early? Especially so if it isn't a mixed group, but all AMDKs. They tend to bring their own road culture here. Just on this morning drive, I've noticed all the Lycra clad cyclists all guai guai stop at red lights, even at the old Bukit Timah Fire Station T junction. Usually, this junction they will jump the lights once they check right side traffic was clear. It's a good thing, that they know there is heavy public attention on them from other road users to obey the rules. That's a yes and no. It's a yes, because it's a 2 lane carriageway for motorized vehicles in a single direction. So they can cycle up to a maximum of 2 abreast on roads with 2 lanes in a single direction. If it's just a single lane carriageway, they had to be in a single file only. If they had a valid reason to avoid using the dedicated green cycling lane such as presence of obstructions and HAVE TO have use the roads, they are not breaking the law. It's also a no, because there is a dedicated bike lane. It should be utilised at all times whenever possible and should supercede the law above.
