  1. Mazda driver must have thought a giant took a s*** on his car. What happened? A Mazda driver was travelling along Marymount Lane when they no doubt s*** themselves after it looked like someone s*** on their car. As we can see in the video, a construction zone beside the road had some equipment malfunction, with a cable/tube snapping and unleashing a torrent of mud. The unlucky Mazda was able to get ahead by just a bit before the massive brown load splattered all over the road, leaving part of his windshield unobscured while the rear and roof of the car was covered in the filth. The brown shower did not end there however, as we see the mud continue to gush out of a tube before it finally ended. If there is a silver lining, maybe it’s that it could have smelled worse? Online chatter Some made joke of the free ‘mud bath’. Others were a little more concerned that this could happen, as if it was metal or concrete that fell instead there would be far more damage and possible casualties. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Would be keen to get hold of some seeds to try growing it here if possible. Definitely feeling better using it now knowing that it is sort of organic haha.

  4. 11:00pm - 04:30am (SGT) Peak: Night of Aug 12 to morning of Aug 13 Best: While Perseids can be viewed on August 11, 12, 13, and 14, we recommend observing on the night of August 13 for maximum visibility. Peak: August 12 and 13 Shower rate: 60-100 per hour Time Zone: UTC/GMT +8 hours While expected rates in your location may be high, several factors may interfere. 5% Full Moon Forecast: Near New Moon Moon phase will be near perfect for gazing at the Perseids meteor shower. The peak of this shower occurs near date of New Moon, so the moonlight will not interfere with viewing Perseids meteors. Top recommended viewing locations: Viewing locations are currently unavailable for this area; feel free to recommend a couple by clicking here. Where to look up at the sky In 2015, the peak of the Perseids meteor shower will occur around the time of a New Moon. This will produce favorable viewing circumstances for observers expecting to get the full effect of this yearly summer experience. With upwards of 80 meteors per hour predicted, it should well be worth staying out to catch quite a few impressive bursts of light streaking through the night sky. On average, under completely clear skies, and in complete darkness, observers may witness 50 to 80 meteors per hour; but these rates can exceed up to 120 meteors per hour in rural locations. Be aware that local conditions such as light pollution, cloud cover, and precipitation will also play a major role in the number of meteors you are likely to see. For the best viewing experience, find an area unobstructed by a structure that is far away from city lights. Using optical devices such as binoculars or telescopes is not recommended, as your field of view will be greatly restricted, thus making the possibility of missing a "shooting star" more likely. Once you have settled down at your observation spot, face half-way up toward the northeastern portion of the sky. Looking northeast, you will have the constellation of Perseus, the radiant of the Perseids shower, within your field of view. Not coincidentally, the Perseids meteor shower is named after the constellation Perseus for the reason that they appear to originate from the sparkling Greek “hero.” Looking directly up at the sky or into the radiant is not recommended since this is just the point in which they appear to come from. You are more likely to see a trail when looking slightly away from this point. Looking half-way up into the sky will lead to the best show in the house. Watching a meteor shower is sometimes takes a great deal of patience, but if you wait long enough, you should be rewarded with a an experience that won’t soon be forgotten. Happy gazing! The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by comet Swift-Tuttle, which was discovered in 1862. The Perseids are famous for producing a large number of bright meteors. The shower runs annually from July 17 to August 24. It peaks this year on the night of August 12 and the morning of August 13. The thin crescent moon will be no match for the bright Perseids this year so be prepared for a great show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Perseus, but can appear anywhere in the sky.http://www.seasky.org/astronomy/astronomy-calendar-current.html Who: Anyone who haven't make a wish upon a shooting star before; do bring friends along! 8. Hey fellas, A quick check on shower habits. Which type of shower do U all had usually ? ie hot vs cold water regardless of weather On the health side, it is said that cold shower is good for health and hot shower is not recommended as our water had chlorine in it and the vapour from hot shower is harmful to us when we inhale it.
  9. Do you think we can see it in Singapore tonite? ................................................................................ .......................... Meteor In the pre-dawn hours of April 22 (1:00 - 3:00 am), be sure to look up. If you do, you'll likely be treated to a spectacular celestial show in the form of the Lyrids meteor shower. Why bother to wake up at an ungodly hour to gaze at the sky? Several reasons. First, the Lyrids shower was, according to Meteor Showers Online, first observed at least 2,600 years ago, making it the oldest of any meteor shower. Secondly, viewers have a small chance "to get a glimpse of some dazzling fireball meteors from a completely different meteor swarm." Here's a brief breakdown on the shower's history, tips on where to watch, and how in the heck the meteors earned their name... How to see them It's slightly more complicated that just craning your neck skyward, but not by much. For maximum viewing, you'll want to find a dark place, away from city lights, and with an open horizon. Lie back and give your eyes several minutes to adjust to the darkness. Then, wait for the show. How to know if what you just saw was part of the shower or just some jerk with a laser pointer? SPACE.com explains that identifying a Lyrid meteor can be done by following its trail. A Lyrids meteor should have a trail that "points back to near the dazzling blue-white star Vega." You can check out a helpful sky chart here. Old, but reliable In China, there are ancient records from 687 B.C. and 15 B.C. of meteors that are "believed to be Lyrids." SPACE.com explains that the Lyrids caused a small panic in Richmond, Virginia, back in 1803. "Numerous townspeople... were roused from their beds by a fire alarm and were able to observe a very rich display between 1 and 3 o'clock." This time, we know they're coming. How'd they get their name? National Geographic has a nice write up on the meteors and their history. Vega's constellation, where the meteors appear to emanate from, is known as "Lyra." Hence, the "shooting stars" became known as "Lyrids." Simple enough, right? What can you expect to see? Whenever the Lyrids come around, they put on a slightly different show. As Anthony Cook, an astronomer for the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, told National Geographic, "The only way to know what the Lyrids have in store for you, is to go outside and observe them." As for the fireballs, Space.com calls their appearance a "wildcard," but it's definitely in the realm of possibility. Follow Buzz Log on Twitter.
  10. It leaves a nice durable gloss on exterior trim during hot days, however look at what happens in the wet. It streaks and oily stains are left on the paint, whats worst is that the entire trim will have white stains all over. Will be trying out a dressing from CG this weekend, check back here for updates.
  11. ST Article here Apparently it says "2am Singapore time", but if it's 2am singapore time, doesn't that mean it's already over 2am this morning? If it's 1800 GMT, and SG is GMT+8, then shouldn't it be tomorrow morning 2am Aug 13? I'm confused? Anyone going somewhere to watch this? Never seen meteor shower before wonder if there's anything 2 see.
  12. Pardon me for the lousy photos, using camera phone :x Photos taken after a wash today.

  14. this might sound silly but has any1 tried using dettol shower foam to wash their cars? reasoning behind my asking comes from trying to wash my empty soft99 authentic wax can. i noticed that the dettol shower foam could not wash away the carnauba wax. but the lux shower foam could. i believe dettol shower foam is pretty effective in washing off stuff like shoe polish and SAF camou (the stick type, not the water based type) but it doesnt seem to be able to do anything to carnauba wax. soooooo, maybe we could use it to wash our cars and not harm the carnauba?
  15. Guys, Over the weekend, I visited my favourite haunt in JB. Sorry GL1500, I didn't contact you. It was a last minute thing. But I did not service the car, so I shall be going in again soon. Will let you know then.. As you can summised, I sent the car to the workshop and then decided not to do the servicing. But I did a car wash, as is my habit, and after our last COOLTRONIC grounding where I saw that Presea could actually fry an egg on his engine and Gadgeter could actually see his face, I damn paiseh, so decided to also send for engine wash. The whole thing cost me R$16. ( This includes the normal wash and vacumn ) Thats not the story. Before the wash, I was having problems with starting, not that cannot start, but must crank the engine a couple more times than usual. But funny thing is, after the wash, the car turn over immediately every single time...???? And also I had less problems with the aircon... Anyone knows why..? Cheers..
