Footage was caught on camera of the windshield of a yellow bus collapsing forward after just a simple brake, with debris, paper and glass shards falling on the road, potentially endangering anyone that might have been in the way. The windshield of the bus collapsed insanely easily, almost like it was glued together with the UHU art glue we used in primary school. Someone certainly messed up in terms of the quality assurance of the vehicle. The glass shards could have easily resulted in permanent damage to either the driver or anybody on the road, and it is definitely a blessing that it didn’t Clearly, this vehicle was also probably not subjected to those routine preventive maintenance checks, or else this incident might have been prevented. Perhaps, the regulation for maintenance checks needs to be stricter and more frequent as well. Netizen Comments Netizens have expressed their concerns about the potential dangers that the damaged windshield could have caused as well as the poor quality of the vehicle’s components. Personally, I think that a complaint should be filed to the manufacturer of that particular bus. We might not be as lucky next time to prevent severe injuries from occuring. Quite cheap also. 5) Mr DIY Aeropak Glass Cleaner This should be the cheapest among all the glass cleaner!

Hi, just need inputs for a good place to go get my windshield pits n swirls corrected and polished. The swirls can be caught with fingernails and cannot be removed with arm power. Thanks to advise.

I'm looking for ways to keep the car from being too hot when parked under the hot sun all day. Anyone using retractable windshield sunshade covers, like this one? Do you just have the shade pulled back over (behind) the front car cam, or under it (but leaving a small portion of the windshield uncovered)? I'm worried about possibly overheating the camera if the cover is pulled over the camera.

Hi, got a 9 year old impreza wrx windshield pump not working, anyone diy before and is it easy to get parts ? I dont think it will be a difficult job, so intend to diy. Used to buy honda part from fing tat and merce parts from thye soon but not sure if they carry subaru's parts. Thanks in advanced.

there seen to be a layer of oily film on windshield that i failed to remove after many attempt. anyone also facing this problem ? had tried those commercial brand out there but none seen to work effectively. problem return after just 1 2 days. thanks in advance. Regards

Say I have a car camera want to conceal the wire that leads all the way to the charger. What is the name of the thing that you use to stick the cable to windshield? Can't seem to find it. Or anyone tried using blutack before? Does it work? Tried searching but got no result.

The culprit was fragments of a black stone, which had apparently been hurled down from the twelfth storey. Said the STOMPer: "I am particularly concerned about the cases of killer litter in Singapore. I happened to be a victim recently, but fortunately it was my car which bore the brunt of the 'killer litter'. "On Sunday Feb 19 at 9am, I wanted to drive my car to church but discovered that my rear windscreen was completely smashed and destroyed. "I found small fragments of a crystalline black stone around my car. I pick up more than 10 pieces and proceeded to make a Police report. "The Police said they would investigate. I then made a door-to-door investigation of the apartments directly above my parked car. "I found out after talking to the residents that is very common to find debris of all sorts thrown. Clearly there must be someone who lives above that is throwing stuff out. "I called the HDB who said the police will deal with this. However, the Police must wait for someone to get injured or worst KILLED before they do any serious investigation. Who has got the time to find this culprit? "Should the HDB, who we are paying for the carpark space and maintenance have some investigative team to look into such a menace? If left unchecked it could ultimately kill someone. "I am going to keep a lookout. I also informed the Chinese Media. I am also going to send this to my MP in Tampines; hopefully they will do something. "If not I will be the first person to highlight this warning made earlier, when a more disasterous event happens."

Hi Everybody I was up in Malaysia (Penang) for a long Holiday. To my surprise the whether for extreme hot and without rain thru out my stay there. Anywhere, my car was park under a hot shine sun just outside the chalet for hours and around 3 plus , we drove into a car wash and as the guys poured water on the car , the windshield just cracked form the top center of the from body to almost the center of the screen. I was using the Aircon at 22 Degree. S? Moto?? (The Agent) ask to claim insurance but I think design or the material is not catered for Asian Whether. What Should I do ..? Just claim insurance Or Make Volvo investigates if the material used is not up to standard .... . Did anybody had this experience before ? Please advise ... V

My IU drop out from my car recently and I called up LTA to tell them about my problem and ask where I can get my IU fixed. They refer me to VICOM. I then drove to VICOM and waited for 20 mins plus to get my IU "inspected". The mechanics tell me this: "Either you buy the IU bracket or u go outside and buy the 3M tape to paste my IU back" Huh???!!? I was shocked and went on to say that "Hey aren't my IU under warranty?" and the VICOM guy tells me that "Only the IU is under warranty, not the holder" So now I think what the gahmen is telling me this. "The IU is what we treasure most cos it generates $$$ when you go pass our ERP but for your own safety.. nah.. its yours.. so better pay up to get the bracket replaced or get your own 3M tape or any tape to paste it back and hopefully during an accident, it won't fly out and hit your head!" I am absolutely appalled to hear that. Although it is just a small thing but come to think of that, this small thing can result in fatal accident. I remembered once that the media did focus on the safety of the IU and even showed the scene whereby one car kena accident and the IU was still intact and remains safe cos think the members of the public was worried about that. But now, this small thing happened to my car and no one bothers about it and even ask me to pay for the bracket. Oh c'mon, what is the price of the bracket when compared to the amount of ERP that we have been giving all these while. Isn't our safety worth more than that few dollars?

Hi Just curious about the many suction windshield-mounted GPS holders that are available as a standard mount. With the sun-film (be it V-Kool, Rike-Cool, 3M etc), is there a possibility that the weight of the mounted GPS appliances peel the sunfilm? TIA Robert

Anyone know how to use Glaxo compound roll for windshield?

I just bought this compound roll from Carrefour... apparently, this is a coumpound roll that removes a small layer of glass from your windshield as you apply it and will help to remove juddering. But the instructions are all in Japanese... I don't understand a single word. Can anyone tell me what are the steps in applying this roll? Thanks! -
You know that blue/tinted visor thing on the top part of the windshield to block out the sun? where can i get it installed? most of those i have come across are inbuilt into the windshield. issit possible to get a sticker version? cheap? also, those opaque kind, with the brand name for eg. how much would they cost? just wondering cos the sun is blinding me! any advice would be appreciated. thanx!

The results are very good. Isopropanol improves the wetting properties of the washer fluid. Final concentration is 10% in DI water. The original cheapo formulation is actually 9 cups water to 1 cup isopropanol plus 1 TBS of dishwashing liquid. I didn't use the dishwashing liquid for fear of it drying up along the lines. This works out to be roughly 2.5L if you take into consideration 1 cup = 250mL. I think the rationale is this. Isopropanol is a more "organic" alcohol compared with ethanol so grease and grime tends to dissolve in it. Moreover, ethanol is more expensive than isopropanol. Isopropanol is also not as volatile as ethanol so once diluted with water, it tends to stay in the solution rather than evaporate away. It is easy for me to get this because I work in a lab but you can get isopropanol from the pharmacy. It comes as rubbing alcohol. DI water is deionized water. Actually I used RO water which was easily available to me. Isopropanol is also known as isopropyl alcohol.

i'm driving a '92 Sunny and has faced the above problem since i got the car 2 months back. The film can only be wiped off using glass cleaner but it will come back after a few days. Has anyone faced the same problem ?
