  1. Source: https://mothership.sg/2023/07/confused-horse-spotted-trotting-along-cars-on-bke-escorted-to-safety-by-lta-officer/ A brown horse was spotted on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Saturday (Jul. 8). A video of the creature was captured on camera. It was uploaded onto the Complaint Singapore Facebook group by user Raven Qiu. A similar video has been uploaded onto SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page, where the video has garnered over 100 shares in five hours. The video showed the confused-looking horse trotting along the busy expressway as cars drove past it. The saddle fastened to the horse suggested that it wasn't a wild horse. The horse then stopped in the middle of the road and turned around to face the car behind it, before walking along the side of the road against the flow of traffic. Another video showed the horse being escorted by a Land Transport Authority (LTA) officer towards Turf Club Avenue. Although the caption of the video suggested that the horse had escaped from Singapore Turf Club, Mothership understands that the horse belonged to Bukit Timah Saddle Club instead. "We are aware a horse belonging to Bukit Timah Saddle Club found its way outside of its stable and onto the roads briefly. It has since been safely returned to its stable," A Singapore Turf Club spokesperson said. Mothership has reached out to Bukit Timah Saddle Club and LTA for more information.
  2. TL;DR: A motorcyclist on BKE knocked another bike down and sent both parties off their bikes, skidding across the road. The rider at fault was surely having a good time going fast, feeling the cool night wind against them as they wove through traffic. However, they wove one too many times, and are now likely facing a lot of trouble. What happened? On 21st March 10.40 p.m, at Bukit Timah Expressway, two motorcyclists went into each other after one of them did an abrupt lane change at high speed without even a turn signal in order to exit the expressway. The rider who got hit was knocked down first before the rider at fault knocked into a car and off the bike, as well as their passenger. The condition of the bikers and the pillion rider is unknown. Online chatter. Naturally, a lot of people are commenting against the biker who attempted the lane change. Others hoped the pillion rider was ok. Do be careful when going on the road, especially with a passenger. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. TL;DR – The owner of a Honda Vezel desperately seeks witnesses or video evidence of a white BMW cutting into his lane and hitting his car, causing an accident in its wake. Unfortunately, the uploaded footage did not catch the BMW’s licence plate. I find it a little strange that the dash cam did not get the license plate. Watch this short 17-second video to see whether you find it strange as well What happened? Quoted straight from the SGRV Post Video got cut? I’m not sure whether it’s the impact of the BMW hitting the Vezel or some technical glitch. But the footage gets cut immediately after. Maybe there’s more to this story than meets the eye? Online Chatter Most comments skew towards the Vezel driver being a road hogger rather than the BMW’s hit-and-run offence. That’s loco! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  4. Yesterday morning on the busy Seletar Expressway, a lone motorcyclist (and those around him) got the biggest shock of his life when he drove over a wooden block on the road. Due to the impact with the object, he then lost control of his bike, swerving like 'siao' until he was tossed onto the floor, with a hard landing. Ouch! As shown in the video, readers can see the obstacle was not that visible from far away. The video can be seen here The poor motorcyclist must have not seen it too, or he would have avoided it from the start. Aiyo, look at how the motorcycle and the rider were thrown onto the hard and painful road! It was shared that the lorry behind him then slowed down, stopping to render assistance to the fallen rider. Heng! There are still some good Samaritans in the world. Online reactions to the unfortunate incident were mixed, ranging from nasty: To chiding: As well as some kinder comments that expressed concern towards the motorcyclist: This well-meaning commentator managed to sneak a pun in: Steady la. Us Sinkie drivers may be a hot-tempered bunch, but we can still show empathy where it is due. We hope the motorcyclist is well and heals quickly from his injuries. Stay safe on the roads everyone! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  5. For the uninitiated, you may be wondering why do riders practice lane-splitting? Well, at least according to riders, lane-splitting is a safer way of riding. However, what many riders are unaware of is that lane-splitting is only safer if performed PRUDENTLY. Watch this video to see how this rider's practice of lane-splitting put himself in great danger: Notoriously Narrow Lanes This incident occurred along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) towards Seletar Expressway (SLE). We are all aware of how narrow the two lanes are for all those who have travelled along the bend featured in the video. Furthermore, the high heavy vehicle traffic along this route makes it even more hazardous to navigate around this bend. As such, motorists often practice extra caution when travelling along this route. What happened? Within seconds of the video, a motorcyclist is seen riding in between slow-moving vehicles. While in between 2 vehicles, the rider seemed to have panic-braked due to his inability to squeeze through successfully. This resulted in the rider losing control of his motorcycle and hitting both vehicles to his side. Fortunately for the rider, he managed to avoid being involved in a potential freak accident. I hope this serves as a learning opportunity for ALL RIDERS to practice lane-splitting PRUDENTLY, no matter how experienced one is. Netizens' Comments This accident could have been avoided entirely. Common sense ain't that common after all. This one ultimate troller. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 6. A grey Nissan Sylphy attempted to recklessly overtake an oil tanker, which resulted in a chain collision accident along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE). In the video, the oil tanker could be seen travelling on the second middle lane while the grey car (concealed by the tanker) was on the outermost left lane. Within seconds, the bonnet of the grey car could be seen as the driver attempts to shift into the second middle lane, despite being so close to the heavy-duty vehicle. As expected, the grey Sylphy ends up in a T-bone collision with the oil tanker, which then led to the car spinning and colliding with a yellow taxi in the middle lane. The impact of the crash threw the taxi off its lane and into the road divider, which led to a fourth hit as the camcar could not stop in time. The video ends with the grey Nissan hitting the yellow taxi a second time as it flies towards the road divider from the impact of the first hit with the oil tanker. This huge accident led to a closure of three lanes of the expressway and a 3-hour jam during the lunch peak period. Netizens' reactions From the comments, it's clear that what the grey Nissan did was insanely reckless and impulsive. TBH, I have no idea what the driver was thinking. In what scenario would overtaking an oil tanker be a good idea? Why would anyone even do that? Another incident with the same driver A more recent video showed the same grey Nissan Sylphy blocking the road at a petrol station. Despite the blurry footage, the grey car was identified to have the same license plate. According to the camcar driver, he was attempting to leave the petrol station when he saw the vehicle parked in the middle of the road. After repeatedly honking, the driver noticed that the owner of the grey Nissan was actually at the ATM on the right. This inconsiderate behaviour is really infuriating to watch. First, he causes a chain collision on an expressway and now, he's parking his vehicle in the middle of the road for his own convenience? --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 7. Someone should contact Universal and hire this lorry uncle for their next movie. What went down Click here for the full video: https://www.facebook.com/roadssg/videos/375107703849837 On 5th May 2021 at 5:46 pm, a lorry driver attempted to tap his brakes as he sped through the BKE expressway. Instead of slowing down, the vehicle unexpectedly spun out of control and ended up facing against traffic. And if that wasn't scary enough, things nearly went south for both the motorcyclist and the dash-cam driver as the lorry stops abruptly. They managed to stop their vehicles just in time to avoid a one-way ticket to heaven. It was speculated that the driver was speeding with balding or worn-out tyres – something that should have been checked and fixed by the driver or the company before the vehicle hits the open road. How do I know if my tyres are worn out? According to this guide, it shows how vehicle tyres would look like under certain conditions, of which all of them would increase tyre wear faster than normal. Although I’m unsure if the lorry’s tyres were misaligned or wrongly inflated, it is always important for drivers to inspect their tyre pressure and threads once every few weeks on top of the mandatory yearly check. Netizens' reactions As always, several netizens rushed to the comments section to voice their concerns about the incident and to praise the driver for stopping in time. I would have shat my pants even if I were driving in another lane! What do you think? How often do you check your own tyres?

  10. Hi all. I was just wondering how come nobody mentioned the massive jams we had on Monday morning on BKE??? Heard 3 lanes were blocked for several hours. I was in Jurong at abt 8am n tried to return to Woodlands n end up i reached Woodlands only abt 11am plus. Wah damm tired n hungry. I was going around in circles trying to get back to Woodlands n ended up I went Turf City walk around n shopping at Giant. Left at abt 11 am n the jam still along the BKE. 11. Two people were sent to the National University Hospital (NUH) after the car they were in burst into flames along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE). The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call about a car on fire at 1.20pm on Friday. The car was on the BKE towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), near the Bukit Panjang exit when it caught fire. Two fire bikes, a fire engine, red rhino and ambulance were sent to the scene, and the fire was extinguished within five minutes using a hosereel, said the SCDF. A man and a woman, both in their twenties, were sent conscious to NUH with abrasions and body pains sustained in an earlier accident with a truck.
