  1. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/grab-driver-challenges-himself-24-030321825.html A Grab driver who goes by the name of Sonic (gotta go fast after all) recounted on Facebook his experience in pushing himself to work for 24 hours as a personal challenge — an ordeal that earned him $912 in total from the 59 jobs he took. Wanting to prove that it is actually possible to rake in close to $1,000 on a weekday, the Grab driver embarked on his quest on Monday, when the clock struck midnight. The man even uploaded video logs of his 24-hour work day on the ProDriver IncGrab driver community page on Facebook to show his progress. In the first clip, he mentioned that he would begin the shift at Changi Airport, acknowledging that it would be pretty hard to get many passengers on a Monday. “I strongly advise against driving such long hours because it’s actually very dangerous for yourself and the rider,” he urged. “Rest assured that I will stop if I feel too tired, but I’m very well rested over the weekend”. Grab driver challenges himself to work 24 hours. just how safe is it to drive 24 hours a day? thought commercial drivers got limitations to the number of hours they can drive a day? or not applicable to grab drivers? endangering other road users also.

  3. More apt to start a new one on this scammer thingy. Old man hurls himself onto stationary car at Ang Mo Kio StompThursday, Apr 09, 2015 unclefakeaccident_main.jpg 1980 8 0 3 0 Print A driver slowed his car down when he noticed an elderly man standing in the middle of the road, but was shocked when the latter flung himself onto the car bonnet. The driver, who sent footage of the incident to citizen journalism website Stomp, said the incident happened yesterday, Apr 8, at about 4.55pm along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6. In footage caught by his car's dashboard camera, he slowed down as the elderly man raised his hands and seemed to want to cross the road. He recounted: "A man tried to slow my car down by raising his hands as he pretended to cross the road illegally. Photo Gallery: Old man hurls himself onto stationary car at Ang Mo Kio Click on thumbnail to view photos. Source: Stomp View more "As I slowed down to let him pass, he suddenly jumped onto my front bonnet as if he was knocked down!" The incident has raised alarms as to whether it could have been a fake accident scam, which are rife in China. In such cases, the perpetrator would pretend to be injured by claiming that they were knocked down by a car, and then proceed to try claiming money from insurance. The driver quickly drove away as he did not want to hold up traffic. However, he noted that the man looked like he was about to try the same stunt on another vehicle. - See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/old-man-hurls-himself-stationary-car-ang-mo-kio#sthash.mQYPr19l.dpuf https://www.facebook.com/straitstimes.stomp/photos/a.228017343896382.64081.144053245626126/969570346407741/?type=1&theater Video here..sibei drama http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/chinas-fake-accident-scam-in-spore-watch-how-old-man-hurls-himself-onto-stationary#xtor=CS1-2

[hur] Unemployed man in China tries to feed himself to tigers Published on Feb 18, 2014 10:58 AM A female Bengali white tiger dragging Mr Yang Jinhai by his shirt after he climbed into the enclosure at a zoo in Chengdu, Sichuan province on Feb 16, 2014. -- PHOTO: REUTERS BEIJING (AFP) - A man in China survived an unsuccessful attempt to feed himself to a pair of Bengal tigers and is being treated for depression, a Chinese newspaper reported on Tuesday. According to the Chengdu Business Daily, Yang Jinhai, 27, climbed a tree and jumped into the tigers' enclosure on Sunday at the Chengdu Zoo in south-west China's Sichuan province. As stunned visitors watched, Yang - who is unemployed and suffers from mental health issues, according to his brother - "performed exaggerated movements" as he spent 20 minutes trying to tempt the tigers to eat him. "I asked them to bite me and let them eat my meat, and so I did not fight back," Yang told the paper. 6. Really WTF to the max !!!!???? A passenger overslept on an SBS Transit bus and then took over the wheel to drive himself home. The incident happened on January 8, 2013, from 9.06pm to 9.24pm at Buona Vista bus interchange when a 27-year-old man without a licence took another bus from the interchange to drive home, reported Lianhe Wanbao. The bus was found at a bus stop along Commonwealth Avenue near Holland Avenue through the use of the global positioning system (GPS). It was empty and not damaged in any way. On Thursday afternoon, the tour guide who had driven the bus home admitted to three charges which included stealing a bus worth $300,000, operating a bus without possessing a class 4 licence and not having a third party insurance cover while doing so. He was sentenced to nine months and two weeks in prison and will be suspended from driving for a year. The man had boarded the bus around Little India and had fallen asleep during the journey. The bus driver did not notice his sleeping passenger upon reaching the interchange. When the man woke up, he alighted from the bus and boarded another which still had the keys in the ignition. He then drove the bus home. In his plea, the man said he just wanted to reach home safely. The bus was found to be missing when the bus driver returned from his break. This is reportedly the first case in which a bus has been stolen here. The man could have been jailed up to seven years and fined.
  7. KNN. This Ah Tiong damn stupid. Should have just died inside the box and send straight to the furnace to cremate. Want a Surprise? Send her a box of money. Couldnt stop laughing how stupid one can be ===================================== http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-buzz/...-204950208.html Hu Seng hoped to pop out of the box and surprise her, but when she opened it he was passed out One man's romantic gesture almost killed him when he ended up trapped in an airtight box for much longer than he should have been. Hu Seng, from China, wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a present, so he decided to mail her himself. The Daily Mail reports he hopped into a box, curled into the fetal position and made a friend tape the box closed and send it via courier to his girlfriend, Li Wang. He was hoping when the box arrived at her office he would jump out of it and surprise her. But that's not quite what happened. The couriers mixed up the address and instead of the delivery taking 20 minutes it ended up taking about three hours. Seng had very little air and by the time it arrived at Wang's office, Seng was unable to jump out and surprise her because he had passed out. He had to be revived by paramedics. He had a friend waiting at her office with a camera to film the whole thing. "I didn't realize it would take so long," said Seng in a Daily Mail article. "I tried to make a hole in the cardboard but it was too thick and I didn't want to spoil the surprise by shouting." The Daily Star reports if Seng told the courier firm he was in there they wouldn't have accepted the package. When animals travel they have to be in special containers so they can breathe.

From Soccernet: An Arsenal fan hung himself following his team's 4-1 aggregate drubbing by arch-rivals Manchester United in the Champions League semi-final, police said. Arsenal lost 3-1 to United in the second leg of their semi-final tie. Suleiman Alphonso Omondi, a 29-year-old Kenyan living in the capital Nairobi's Embakasi neighbourhood, hanged himself in his Arsenal shirt after the match. "We were watching the match at Bamba 70 pub, and when Arsenal was defeated, Suleiman just walked out in protest and he was crying," Calvin Otieno, one of his friends, said. "We didn't know he was going to hang himself until this morning when we received the reports and came here to find his body at the balcony," Otieno said outside the deceased's home. Arsenal slumped to a 3-1 defeat at home in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final, capping a disappointing season for the Gunners who were already out of the Premier League title race early in the season.

  17. This was a really rather clever trick. Also, although his act was technically a criminal offence, I find it difficult to think of it as morally wrong. He was only stealing his OWN money, after all. Sept 23, 2005 Man fined for pulling scam to siphon off CPF money By Khushwant Singh COMPANY director Eric Tan, 45, hit on a plan to get his hands on Central Provident Fund money that was off-limits. He bought shares with his own money on the stock market and sold them to himself at higher prices - with money from his CPF account. He also sold shares from his CPF account back to himself at lower prices. And he pocketed the difference. The round-tripping scam enabled Tan to siphon off $6,855 from his CPF account - funds he was allowed to withdraw only when he reached 55. However, he was caught and fined $7,000 after he pleaded guilty to 11 charges of contravening the CPF Act by selling and buying 88,000 Dayen Environmental shares and 40,000 Megachem shares. There's another part of the article which I found noteworthy: Tan's lawyer, Mr Lawrence Goh, pleaded for a light sentence, saying Tan regrets his foolish act and realises it was 'very stupid'. The money Tan took was used for his daily expenses as he was in financial difficulties then. This reminds me of all those people in recent times who were retrenched and unemployed and struggling to get by from day to day. Their children could not afford to go to school or to have proper meals. Meanwhile their CPF accounts bulged with huge amounts of their OWN money that the government would not allow them to touch. Only in a country like Singapore. http://commentarysingapore.blogspot.com/20...ng-himself.html
