  1. I think most of us deserve it then....... http://vulcanpost.com/7702/jack-ma-youre-still-poor-35-deserve/?fb_action_ids=10151998229752466&fb_action_types=og.likes You are poor because you have no ambition. Jack Ma: Before I founded Alibaba, I invited 24 friends to my house to discuss the business opportunity. After discussing for a full two hours, they were still confused — I have to say that I may not have put myself across in a clear manner manner then. The verdict: 23 out of the 24 people in the room told me to drop the idea, for a multitude of reasons, such as: ‘you do not know anything about the internet, and more prominently, you do not have the start-up capital for this’ etc etc. There was only one friend (who was working in a bank then) who told me, “If you want to do it, just try it. If things don’t work out the way you expected it to, you can always revert back to what you were doing before.” I pondered upon this for one night, and by the next morning, I decided I would do it anyway, even if all of the 24 people opposed the idea. When I first started Alibaba, I was immediately met with strong opposition from family and friends. Looking back, I realised that the biggest driving force for me then was not my confidence in the Internet and the potential it held, but more of this: ”No matter what one does, regardless of failure or success, the experience is a form of success in itself.” You have got to keep trying, and if it doesn’t work, you always can revert back to what you were doing before. As with this quote by T.E. Lawrence – “All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream in the dark recesses of the night awake in the day to find all was vanity. But the dreamers of day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, and make it possible.” Jack Ma: People lose out in life because of these 4 reasons: Being myopic to opportunity Looking down on opportunities Lacking understanding Failing to act quickly enough You are poor, because you have no ambition. Ambition is living a life of great ideals; a magnificent goal in life that must be realised. In this world, there are things that are deemed unfathomable, but there is nothing in this world that cannot be done. The depth of one’s ambition determines the potential of one’ future.

  10. Dear all car enthusiasts, I've stumbled upon a supplier for a remote-controlled operated Car Jack and Torque wrench. Saw it at Li hong auto today and the boss Ah Ho referred me to the supplier for bulk buys. So far, I've had a few orders already from fellow trackie friends so I guess its a track essential as well as a salvation for flat tires. For more info you can check out the You-tube Video at Or www.dyauto.blogspot.com From what I understand, the RRP is $189, I've contacted the supplier and after much negotiations, they could lower the price considerably if we have a substantial enough group buy. So far it goes like this : For 5 orders , the price is $178 For 10 , $168 , For 30 and above , $159 PM me if you are interested. i've posted this lobang on other car forums too to find if anyone's keen Lets start the ball rolling.... 1. 11. anyone knows if there is a way we can connect a 5mm earphone jack (input) into the stock 159 HU? intention is to connect handphone to HU and listen to songs in HP via AUX.
  12. Hi folks, Hope to get some advice from you. I am planning to get a DECT phone that comes with a 2.5mm earphone jack. Went to several electronic stores and found that there are several brands available from Panasonic, Uniden, etc. The problem is that these DECT phones come with the 2.5mm jack but not the earphone itself. The sales assistants are also not sure where those earphones can be bought. Then I remember I still have a few of those 2.5mm earphones that came with my old Nokia phones. Can these be used with the DECT phones? I spend quite a bit of time on the phone everyday so I need to use a earpiece to free my hands so that I could work on my PC at the same time. Thanks
  13. anyone can provide some reviews of this movie?
  14. **Shifted to Technical Section** Posted this in AROC.... Share with you guys as well... Few days ago: Yes, mine doesn't come with AUX (iPod or 3.5mm jack whatsoever) thus last weekend, I pulled out the stock headunit... Surprised it was Blanpukt.... Single Deck attached to a double din face. Anyway long story short....when I looked at the pin, seems like I need to do some modification to the Blue Pin but I think it is possible, AUX out 3.5mm... Will try soon.... enough of CDs and Radios and and and don't want to be restricted to iPod adaptor only.... Today: Done! Now I can play anything under the sun....so long as it has a 3.5mm hole. Lolz. RCA out to 3.5mm.... Now not restricted to ipod or iPhone or USB but all 3.5mm jack. Yes, function on your stock headunit is "AUX". 15mins job... :) DIY. P/s: Because this is running on 3.5mm jack, you can only control volume on steering....please don't ask me whether can select tracks or folders....

  19. Read it here Good bye Fitness Guru . . . Remember those days in the 70's when we would wake up early to catch your fitness program on TV, trying to follow your exercise moves. Fitness guru Jack LaLanne dies at 96 in California By Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES - Jack LaLanne, a one-time sugar-holic who became a television fitness guru preaching exercise and healthy diet to a generation of American housewives, died on Sunday at age 96, his daughter said. LaLanne, who became U.S. television fixture in his close-fitting jumpsuit starting in 1959 and came to be regarded as the father of the modern fitness movement, succumbed to pneumonia following a brief illness at his home in Morro Bay, along the California's central coast. "He was surrounded by his family and passed very peacefully and in no distress ... and with the football game on Sunday, so everything was normal," Yvonne LaLanne, 66, told Reuters. She said her father had remained active until a few months ago, including the taping of a recent public TV special. Well into his 90s, LaLanne exercised for two hours a day. A typical workout would be 90 minutes of weightlifting and 30 minutes of swimming, changing his routine every 30 days. He preached the gospel of exercise, raw vegetables and clean living long after his contemporaries had traded in their bicycles for nursing home beds. "I can't die," LaLanne would say. "It would ruin my image." LaLanne was born Francois Henri LaLanne on September 26, 1914, in San Francisco, the son of French immigrants. He said he grew into a "sugar-holic" who suffered terrible headaches, mood swings and depression. In desperation when he was 14, LaLanne's mother took him to hear health lecturer Paul Bragg, who urged followers to exercise and eat unprocessed foods. The young LaLanne swore off white flour, most fat and sugar and began eating more fruits and vegetables. By age 15, he had built a backyard gym of climbing ropes, chin-up bars, sit-up machines and weights. Soon, LaLanne, who was only 5 feet, 6 inches tall, was playing high school football. He added weight-lifting to recover from a football injury and was hooked. LaLanne opened the nation's first modern health club in Oakland, California, in 1936. It had a gym, juice bar and health food store. Soon there were 100 gyms nationwide. Without bothering with patents, LaLanne designed his own exercise equipment, which he had built by a blacksmith. In 1951, he started using television to get the first generation of couch potatoes to try jumping jacks, push-ups and sit-ups. "The Jack LaLanne Show," which went national in 1959, showed housewives how to work out and eat right, becoming a staple of U.S. daytime television during a 34-year run. He also was known for a series of promotional fitness stunts. At age 45, in 1959, he did 1,000 push-ups and 1,000 chin-ups in 86 minutes. In 1984 a 70-year-old LaLanne had himself shackled and handcuffed and towed 70 boats 1.5 miles in Long Beach Harbor. LaLanne said in 2007 his focus was always to help people the way Paul Bragg had helped him, adding, "Billy Graham is for the hereafter, I'm for the here and now!"
  20. Have you noticed many taxis drive at night with one of the headlights permanently in high beam??....maybe the driver is using this to irritate the drivers in front to give way?? This can be very distracting to other drivers.... including the ones in front, the ones in the opposite direction.... Take down the numbers of such taxis, compile a list and send it to LTA, ask them to call up the owners for inspection?? Or let the taxi overtake, then follow him with our own highbeam in full blast behind him??
  21. by default working in a large company you can specialize, in smaller companies you will have to be a jack of all trades but master of none. in the interests of career progression, should you specialize in an area or be a generalist - know a bit of everything? PS: sales profession not included because this is probably an area where the more things you can sell the merrier you will be. The bottomline: which gets you further, being a specialist or a jack-of-all-trades?
  22. Hi, I wanted to buy a floor jack for my MB sprinter van. I saw standard floor jack most workshop uses, but one mechanical told me that spriner van needed the type of floor jack that is longer. Is it true?
  23. SINGAPOREAN filmmaker Jack Neo has been spotted with his wife in Taiwan in what appears to be a trip to patch up his marriage. Neo, who has been nicknamed "Singapore's Tiger Woods" by the media after reports about his alleged links to 11 women, was photographed holding his wife Irene Kng close to him while walking on a street in Taiwan.SIT to offer industry-focused Degree Programmes to Poly Grads Sin Chew Daily reported that Neo had travelled to the island for a discussion with a Taiwan-based Malaysian actor. It is believed that Neo is planning to make a Taiwanese version of I Not Stupid, his 2002 hit movie. Kng, who broke down during a press conference last month when Neo apologised over his indiscretions, also reportedly went to a night market in Taiwan with her husband. Neo apparently kept using his mobile phone to take pictures of his wife. They were also seen sharing a bowl of noodles at the night market, besides seeking shelter under an umbrella while walking in the rain, the daily said.
