  2. Hi Fellow MCFers, Need your cooperation for this. For those whom have the MCF decal, please drive with due care. We do not want to be called a Tiong Car forum, because of a few individual bad apples that drive without any due care for the safety of others. Do practice road courtesy (things like signal before overtaking.) Should anyone of you spot such behaviour from fellow MCFer, do alert the mods. Thank you.
  3. I noticed that recently many new topics have been added to the wrong category. I understand that some topics are pretty grey and there may be some confusion when adding new threads. However, straightforward ones such as car grooming, repair & servicing etc should not be finding its way to Lite & EZ and so forth. At the same time car related threads should not end up inside Lite & EZ too. Doesn't warrant a warning but just a reminder to all and also make life easier for the mods. Thank you in advance.
  4. The authorities are always watching what we post here..... http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1211003/1/.html SINGAPORE: Police on Sunday announced that it had arrested two 17-year-olds for posting racist remarks online. In a statement, police said the remarks could lead to ill-will and hostility between the different races in Singapore. The arrests came after authorities received reports on Wednesday that racist remarks were being posted on Facebook and Twitter. The suspects, both boys, were nabbed over the next two days. A person convicted under the Sedition Act could be fined up to S$5,000 and jailed up to 3 years. Police said the right to free speech does not extend to making remarks that incite racial and religious conflict. The public should also refrain from re-posting and adding on to comments that may inflame the situation. The commander of Bedok Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police How Kwang Hwee, said: "The Internet may be a convenient medium to express one's views but members of the public should bear in mind that they are no less accountable for their actions online." "Police take a very stern view of acts that could threaten the social harmony in Singapore." - CNA/wm

  8. During this festive mood, we may be bugged down with a lot of things. Preparations, etc. There are also couple of things that we should always keep in mind. Here is an example of an unfortunate event that we can learn from; Stay focus when you are driving. Drive safely and return home to your loved ones. Happy holidays everyone! Cheers!
  9. Had this problem coming up on me after I had just sent my Spb for servicing. So had to send it back to reset the service interval. Apparently you do not need the Vagcom to reset it. You just have to press on the rignt trip meter reset button, at the same time turn on your engine and without releasing the right button turn the left clock button clockwise. The service reminder will be reset. Just something for you guys out there driving the Spb 1...not sure if it will work for Spb 2 or octys...
  10. Okay, this ain't some really special secret place, but it's our own place where we can bitch about anything and everything and keep to ourselves. Only folks we have met several times and feel we can trust are invited to this place. To keep this place our own, please keep it's existance to yourself. This has to be strongly enforced as I don't want every Skoda owner to waltz in to the forum demanding access to this area and getting all our sensitve posts, contacts... basically, information.... and leaking them out to who knows what and where. Wouldn't it be nice to know you can come in here and do anything you want un-moderated? (but still moderated by C708 and me ) I've sent out sms to all who have access to this place, please do not be offended by the sms as I'm not pin pointing anyone for anything at all. 14. Hey folks, anyone saw tha accident along PIE (towards Changi) before Eunous exit last night aroung 1030pm? 3 car chain... I was very blessed not to be the 4th car, just managed to e-brake (ABS activated) and stop just about 2m behind the 3rd car. am so so glad i wasn't speeding and was about 2-3 car length away, anything less i think kena liao and thank God it didn't rain last night cos if the road was wet, most likely cannot brake in time. anyways i know no amount of advice will discourage people from speeding and tailgating, only through personal experience then will realise the danger/risk behind it. anyways just sharing from a personal experience.

Title: L O V E I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back. The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.' Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.'' Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.' I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.'' My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.' 'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' 'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!' Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.'' 'My mommy loves white roses.' A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body o f the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him. Now you have 2 choices: 1) Repost this message, or 2) Ignore it as if it never touched your heart. For those who prefer to think that God is not watching over us.... go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us... pass this on. The value of a man or woman resides in what he or she gives, not in what they are capable of receiving... repost it as a story that touches your hear t __._,_.___ [/size] ______________________________________________________________________

  18. Went in on Saturday. to my horror when i check my stamp, the rear portion of stamp is slightly blur and out of ink, but the 1st half of the 8 totally disappear ! in short my entry stamp is read as "24 May 2003" which means i like overstayed for 5 yrs !, best part, i went back to the counter, the lady tell me no problem SHE TOOK A BLUE PEN AND DREW AN 8, i was like WTF, i ask for a re stamp and was declined, not wanting to hog the queue, i went off, at the customs seconday clearance for boot checking, i highlight to the office and show her the pen-altered entry stamp, she told me ITS OK, double WTF. park my car oppisite the 100% check, walk back to the immigresen office, show to the senior officer , her shoulder rank is "one crest", not sure if its the equivalent of our MAJ. she also tell me no problem, but she jus counter sign, i want a re stamp, but she say cannot be done. i heard of many horror stories with regards to their stamps, not wanting to take chances so have always been careful, but it certainly was a cold shower for the whole trip, lucky the exit side neber kick up a big fuss so that i can type this thing out here. u try pen altering a singapore stamp, you see wad will happen

  20. I was driving down BKE towards town. One black murano was aggressively following close to my back. Bros who were driving today 14 April along BKE will know that there was a heavy jam. All vehicles were moving at snail's pace. But this murano was aggressively following my back. When I gently braked at one moment, he jammed his brakes cos he was too close. His car even shook when he jammed his brakes.... I was so put off and lowered my window to signal him to slow down. Right after that, I filtered out. The encounter was too close for comfort. If he didn't jam his brakes on time, my car and the other cars would ve appeared on the headlines with the words "chain collision". If the Murano driver is reading this, please be considerate. The traffic already so heavy. You tail gate and follow aggressively and leave little space between you and the cars in front. No matter how close you are to the car in front, you are only closer to accident. You don't save more time by following more closely. For the other bros, be more careful of such tail gaters too.
