  2. Hi, which of the above choices will you get for car about 9 year old, be it an OPC or normal plate. Please advise...
  3. Does anyone here know about or own Hyundai Verna 1.4A, from the 2005/2006 model? I'm considering getting one and am interested to know whether it has ABS. Is the car ok, for simple day-to-day use, and does it have any major or common problem? tks.
  4. Hi guys.. I need your help. Today i accidentally drop my car key, and the car remote was spoilt... I went home n took the spare one n try.. it working fine... I swap the battery also cannot. My conclusion is the remote is spoilt. Any Idea where can i get a duplication of car remote?

I try tested it yesterday night after a heavy rain whether my ABS is still there and it GONE!!! Ima going for my 20K servicing this coming monday. Anyone know what had cause this to happen???
  6. It's out of the question that we would normally use a sedan to carry four to five passengers altogether, probably with some goods in the trunk. However, this isn't the case this time. Instead of carrying passengers and 'some' goods, this sedan - which I think is a Hyundai Accent or Verna - was forced to carry a massive amount of goods. This sedan was seen being a carrier for massive goods last weekend on the Korean border, near Panmunjom, Paju. It was driven by a South Korean citizen trying to go back to his home country. As you can see from the images, the goods nearly covered all parts of the sedan. The goods even nearly, if not completely, covered the rear windshield. How was the driver supposed to see when he needed to reverse the car then? The driver was reported to be previously working in North Korea. However, as we know, the rising tension between the two countries has forced all workers from South Korea to return home. In total, there are 175 South Korean citizens that have been asked to leave North Korea. Most of those asked to leave previously worked in joint ventures of North and South Korea. Since they have to evacuate immediately, they have had to make do with whatever transport they can find. Well, it seems that the Hyundai in the image was just unlucky enough. However, it wasn't alone as there were also other sedans which received the very same fate. I wonder, though, if the suspensions of those sedans received any damage at all. You see, if the suspensions retain their good working conditions after reaching their destinations, these sedans might in fact be some of the strongest sedans automakers have ever built!
  7. 1st my front left door lock went kaput. Got it changed at KMC's subcontractor for autolock. That's when I realised the autolocks' installed in Singapore. Had to fork out $$ because the warranty for this part is only 1 year. Now my rear left door lock conked out. Very fedup with the quality. I won't be surprise if the rest of the door locks fail in the next few months. I'm not keen to go back to KMC's subcontractor for replacement, not with substandard quality parts. Any suggestion for alternatives?
  8. Im interested in this car ad posted pricing at 29900 miles 65000km . I intend to call but unsure what questions should I be asking . Any advices? The dealer did not disclose no. Of owners though
  9. My friend bot it last week. After she bot it her friend told her price is not good because Car Dealer can get it at Scrap Value + 2k = $22k+ only so they earn $6k from this deal which is good profit. What do you think ? COE = $17k OMV - $11k
  10. Hi all, The used Hyundai Verna that I bought has a lowered suspension, done by the previous owner. I prefer the car to be higher/normal, although I'm sure the control is better with this lowered suspension. Too bad I cannot appreciate the advantage of it. Is there any owner who like to have this lowered suspension? I would like to exchange it. tks.
  11. Hi all Verna 1.6 auto owners, Just to check, whats your fuel consumption for your ride so far. Have done abt 8k plus, pretty lighted footed, seldom go above 3RPM. Driving habit is about 60 - 70 % highway. For my FC, I can only average about 10km/L... Is that the norm for a Verna? Cause if it is, then I feel the FC sucks big time Appreciate all Verna owners comments.
  12. hello bros, i did a new car search on these 3 models from hyundai in www.sgcarmart.com and i was surprised to find out that the price for 1.4l AT getz is $48,399! so ex! and the avante only costs $50k. (only $1k+ more than the getz!) I'm very puzzled on the price of getz, how can such a small car be priced so close to the avante? is there a mistake in the price list? i also searched for verna and there's no results. is the verna phased out already? getz price list in sgcarmart avante price list in sgcarmart if the price for getz is true does it mean that it is really overpriced?
  13. Hyundai has begun accepting orders for the all-new redesigned Accent in its home market of South Korea today, ahead of its official sales launch on November 1st. For the new generation, Hyundai is bringing back the Accent nameplate for the Korean market after having supplanted it with the Verna moniker since 1999. Hyundai is marketing the new Accent as a "premium compact" sedan, and is packing an expansive list of amenities and technologies to back such an audacious claim. For one, the Accent is the first in its class to bring six airbags standard across the range. Active front headrests and rear parking assist are also standard equipment in the new Accent. Also available is Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), or Hyundai's way of calling electronic stability control. The highlight of the new Hyundai Accent, however, is found under the hood where an all-new 1.6-liter GDI Gamma four-cylinder engine resides. It produces a class-leading 140 PS (138 horsepower) and 122 lbs.ft of torque, and achieves equally segment-topping fuel economy figures of 16.7 km/L (40 US MPG) thanks to a 6-speed automatic transmission mated to the engine. A smaller 1.4L MPI Gamma four-cylinder engine is also available. The new Accent also boasts the largest interior room in its class, thanks to increased dimensions in all aspects (4370mm length x 1700m width x 1455mm height). The wheelbase has also augmented by 70mm from its predecessor to 2570mm.
  14. I'm considering getting a used car yr 05 or 06. In terms of build quality, power, maintainence and FC, which car is better? Any owner here mind sharing your view please. Thanks.

    R & B from Hyundai

Don't be mistaken. Hyundai is not going into the music industry but launching a new subcompact sedan. Along with the local version of the new Sonata, Hyundai is also showing the RB "concept" at the Moscow International Motor Show. What we're really looking at here is a thinly disguised version of the Russian market Verna/Accent subcompact, which originally made its world premiere at the Beijing Auto Show back in April 2010. The RB will be built at Hyundai's first full-cycle plant in Saint Petersburg, Russia, starting January 2011 followed by the market launch in spring of 2011. The sub-compact sedan will be available with Hyundai's 1.6-liter or 1.4-liter Gamma petrol engines with an estimated 124 PS and 156 Nm of torque; and 107 PS and 135 Nm, respectively. A four-speed automatic transmission or a standard five-speed manual will be available for both engines.
  17. if it goes, stops and drinks as well as the looks promises......... Source: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/04/17/next-hy...ht-undisguised/
  18. Hyundai has unveiled the 2011 Verna (aka Accent) at the Beijing Motor Show. Looking like a miniature Sonata, the Verna features sweptback headlights, a bold grille, and rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals. Inside, the cabin boasts higher quality materials and an improved design. Power comes from two new Gamma petrol engines with multiport fuel injection. The base 1.4-liter produces 79 kW (106 hp / 107 PS) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque. When equipped with a five-speed manual, the Verna consumes 5.7 liters/100km (41.2 mpg US). If you choose the four-speed automatic and the Fuel Economy Package, the Verna consumes 6.2 liters/100km (37.9 mpg US). If that doesn't float your boat, Hyundai also offers a 1.6-liter with 90 kW (121 hp / 122 PS) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque. It will be available exclusively with a four-speed automatic. The car rides on an all-new platform with a 2570mm wheelbase - the biggest in its class. It uses an increased amount of ultra-high tensile strength steel, so we can expect improved handling and better NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels. According to Euisun Chung, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor, "Today is a really special day for us, not only because we're launching a new car, but because it's one of the very few times we've done a world-premiere outside of Korea: And we chose to do it right here in China because it's our way of recognizing how important our Chinese customers are to us." Chinese production kicks off in July, while global production occurs shortly thereafter.

    All new Hyundai Verna

[extract] This is the first official photo Hyundai
  20. The 2010 Hyundai Sonata is more stylish, more spacious, and better in every aspect than its predecessor. This seems to be the motto for Hyundai nowadays, as it rolls out a continual stream of new and/or revised vehicles that leave any old brand preconceptions in the dust. However, what about the buyers with tighter budgets, shopping at an entry price point well below the Sonata? Well, as you see above, it looks like they won't need to sacrifice style for value much longer. This photo, posted in a Korean forum, apparently reveals the next-generation Hyundai Accent (Verna), caught buck naked in its homeland. It also resembles the spy shots of the upcoming Elantra (Avante), which I posted in an earlier entry. As you can see from the photo, the new car shares the Sonata's "fluidic sculpture" design language, which is a good thing seeing how the current Accent is about as generic-looking as cars get. Hyundai doesn't do generic designs anymore, and that now seems to apply to the lower-grade models too. I like such a design philosophy as it gives the brand a distinct appearance, such as BMW, Mercedes and VW. Information on drivetrain specifications remain scarce at the moment. It would be a pleasant surprise to find Hyundai's self developed six speed transmission and 1.6 Turbo GDI engine under the hoot of the new Accent. With that, it not only got the looks, but the brawn to blow away competitions such as the Vios and Mazda 2 sedan.
  21. Kia Rio vs Hyundai Verna? Which one is better? Your view pls... Would greatly welcome views from either owners... Pros and Cons... Any defects or problems so far...
  22. From Paul Tan's Automotive News: The model that we know as the Hyundai Accent has been updated in Korea and called the Hyundai Verna Transform, a naming scheme that seems to echo the Sonata facelift which was also called a Sonata Transform. Most of the equipment and engines remain the same and the only other change from the exterior looks seem to be an Eco indicator on the instrumentation panel which lets you know when you are driving economically, a revised dash design and blue backlighting for the dashboard instead of green. Those stuff they put on the grille don
  23. Asking for my friend who owns the above... Her Verna 1.6 (A) has this screeching noise when she turning the steering wheel... She said she has got this done before where the AD changed the bearings... Anyone also has this problem and what's the cause? The car is turning 3 at the end of the year so I told her to quickly bring it down and get them to fix it before it expires...
