Talking Point >>> Is your CPF enough for retirement?
Throttle2 replied to Wt_know's topic in Investment & Financial Matters
The only down side of ERS is you cant withdraw like OA. Getting the 4% is already reaping benefit eRS truly favors the cash rich wooohooo -

there are better options, the 50 cal is an outdated weapon since WW2 for ground based anti air uses. SAF go for at least 35mm airburst capable type platforms.

Ya exactly, the money in OA is sort of a cash/FD type of buffer. maybe I’m being morbid…. I think I might die early…. And not reap the benefits of ERS! 🤣 -

If you have $xm AUM, is familiar with financial instruments like fixed income, ETF etc and have kids, why throw additional $200k into ERS and after certain age, everything goes into the pool? If you have $xm AUM, don't know what is fixed income and have no kids, I think ERS is fine. Between 3-4% yield for an IG bond fund and CPF Life (ERS) at 6.35% payout ratio, the difference on $200k is around $6k a year. Not going to move the needle if you have a decent AUM. Bonus is $200k goes to your descendants on passing and you have flexibility for that money in next 30 years. So FRS for me. No right and wrong, depends on your own circumstances. -
Not bad - I checked the roaming destinations, cover the usual places. But too lazy to port from Lion King to save 5 bucks a month.

But surely taking a lower rental is better than leaving empty for months? I know costs come with bringing in and exiting tenants (Agent Fees, Repairs, Cleaning etc.), but I'm not sure how people afford to let units go empty.

Benefit of leaving in OA vs put in RA, is that if one dies early then money is gone or goes subsidizing the rest of the population. At least in OA money still yours and can be passed down. -
yes HDB f**ked up since long ago. It should not be allowed to be fully rented out. HDB is to provide homes for the public. Owner must live in it or sell it back to HDB, not in open market. HDB f**ked up so this is the result today. but I dont want to hear those people complain . you know who you are, you deserve it. heeeee

Why would anyone even go back to AD to install when can go outside installer to opt for a preferred installation location and oversee the work? Regardless of agent or PI car? And pay a fee when it's free? AD can guarantee no cock up no mess up? I recall someone went back and they got the battery polarity wrong? How mess up is that? But everyone is a CB kia wat. No wait. Also good lah - less people take lessons/test/pass, less new drivers on the road in BlurrSg causing accidents or competing to bid for COE. -
it also depends on the school leadership. Those ivy league colleges have had it coming for a long time. They had a long time to change and refused, hundreds of millions in tax payer dollars too.

I can use cash to top up RA after 55? Wow ! So if i top my own account up to $1m when i am 55 to earn the compounding 4% for the next 10 yr, at 65 i can receive $7k-$8k per mth until i die. Not too bad leh. even though i can invest for more, investing bears a risk. 4% risk free is not bad leh. what if i put in $2mil? Hhhhmmmmmmm……. -

Best customer retention I saw so far is Eight, with their top-up $xx get $xx extra promotion, straight away tie the customer down with all the balance inside.
