  1. Started this thread to discuss anything and everything on the above mentioned. Anyone using the Europace ETF1169A tower fan? Any FR on it? I intend to buy one.
  2. Came home yesterday, then my old LG fridge, about 10 years old already, keeps intermittently beeping the 3 beeps door alarm. It comes intermittently, but once it starts, it keeps going for a while. It's an old fridge and basic model, so doesn't have the button to disable the door alarm like some of the higher tier models. Tried to duct tape the door open button at 1130pm. That worked for 1hr+ until bloody 145am then it started again. Gave up overnight and switched it off after transferring the more impt items to my other fridge. Read up a few things since last night, have to go try after work later. I can't access the top circuit board as it's blocked by my cabinets. I would have to take the fridge down from the ledge. Bloody hell give me problems few days before xmas eve which is when my both fridges are going to be max-ed out.
  3. currently looking to replace my old 1.. shortlisted the above 3. no idea about fridges... but somehow im leaning towards lg. yup.. in terms of reliability and functions... which is better?

    Fridge not cold

hey guys, need some expert advice on fridges. My MIL's home fridge, 12 years old liao. Suddenly not cold already. I ask one of fridge salesman and his advise is to switch off the fridge for 2 hours and switch on again. See if it is back to normal. If it is still no good, then the fridge up lorry liao. MIL followed instructions and still find the fridge not cold anymore. So my question is: what else can we do? Is it due to no more compressor gas? Can ask the repair guy to come and see? or just throw and buy new one?
  6. my fridge top freezer is working fine but it seems that the bottom fridge is not working fine. in fact, its not cold as before suddenly. can feel cold air blowing out from the vent (3 vent but only 1 got air blowing) but its like no power to blow. any expert can advise what can i do. if i call for repair man, the damage will certainly be more expensive than the fridge and i wanna try saving it before dumping it away. btw, my fridge is GE brand... thankss
  7. Will this happen here???......... Restaurant owner installs fridge outside to feed the homeless A restaurant owner who put a fridge laden with uneaten food on the street outside her business to help the needy has said she felt compelled to act. “If I kept doing nothing then nothing would have happened,” she said. Minu Pauline, owner of the Pappadavada restaurant, in Kochi, southern India, was moved to combat both food waste and hunger after seeing people scavanging waste food from bins. The fridge – nicknamed nanma maram, meaning ‘tree of goodness’ – began as a place people in need could pick up excess food from the restaurant. It has now become a community hub, with people from across town donating to it. Ms Pauline, 28, was inspired to install the fridge after seeing a woman searcing her rubbish bags for food late one night. “It was very sad,” she told The Independent. Minu Pauline, left, as the fridge is opened for use (Minu Pauline/Facebook) “Just imagine being in the situation where you should be asleep but you feel too hungry and you have to go out to find food.” At the same time, she realised how much food is wasted by society, including in her own restaurant. “Money is yours but resources belong to society,” Ms Pauline said. “If you’re wasting your money, it’s your money, but you’re wasting the society’s resources. Don’t waste the resource, don’t waste the food.” She came to a resolution to do something and hit upon the simple idea of installing a fridge and encouraging her customers to put in it whatever they didn’t eat. The fridge is left unlocked and unsupervised for 24 hours a day, and anyone who needs to can utilise it. It feeds dozens of people every night. Critics, seeing the idea of a businesswoman installing an attraction deliberately drawing the homeless to outside her source of income as crazy, initially dismissed the idea. “I know it’s risky,” she said. “But it’s for the good of the community. Nothing has happened before because no one wanted to take a risk. “Nothing has happened yet, but I’ll take it out if I need to.” “You should stand up for the change you wish to see. “I have so many smiling customers,” Ms Pauline said. “I can feel the positivity in my shop.” One of the best aspects of the project is that her example seems to be spreading. “I recently saw two kids outside the fridge,” said Ms Pauline. “After they left, I went to see what they had been doing and in the fridge was some pomegranates and candy that they had donated. “I’m so happy to see the message being spread to the next. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/restaurant-owner-installs-fridge-outside-to-feed-the-homeless-a6963861.html

  15. My current LG 2 door fridge is about 3 years old. The frozen side is currently not cold even though set at cold. Is it due to the gas inside the compressor has finished or other faults? Any contact to repair it and how much roughly? Thanks.
  16. I am looking for a small commercial fridge. The ideal size would be 1m x 1m x 1.7m (L x w x h) or somewhere close. The type which has a transparent front panel showing the contents inside the fridge, typically used for storage of can drinks in mama's shop, or the type which is used by florists to keep flowers in their shop. Looking for a small one and a second-hand unit would be ideal. Anyone has any suggestions?
