  1. There are various meanings behind tailgating or "poking" another motorist. In general, it is used to show displeasure towards a motorist who is "road hogging" lane 1 of an expressway and telling him to move to a slower lane, or to "jio" someone to race. Watch this video of an Audi S3 who decided to "poke" and tailgate a Honda Accord Euro R to show his displeasure: What Happened? Two drivers of an Audi S3 and a Honda Accord Euro R got into an online dispute over a misunderstanding. The dispute started when the Audi S3 intended to overtake the Euro R (cam car) from the left, only to be blocked by the Euro R, who switched to the left lane simultaneously, intending to let the Audi S3 pass him. After misunderstanding the Euro R driver's intention, the Audi driver decided to "poke" and tailgate the Honda driver to show his displeasure. However, the Honda driver kept his cool and minded his business, while the Audi driver continued driving aggressively, creating a tense atmosphere between both drivers. Subsequently, after the incident, the Euro R driver took to social media and called out the Audi S3 driver for his behaviour earlier on, which he felt endangered the safety of both drivers, the Euro R driver's kids and other motorists around them. Read it here: Haiz. Incidents like the above give the car community/car enthusiast a bad reputation, whether intentional or not. Netizens' Comments Sad eh. Next time want style up own car also need think twice liao. Good job for that!👏 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  2. Many drivers flock to the expressways or tunnels in order to have a quicker and more efficient journey. Most usually drive reasonably and abide to traffic customs and display good road etiquette. However this Honda Vezel took the meaning of 'quick' way too seriously, and his rush to get ahead ended up affecting the poor Mitsubishi Lancer who stood in its way. See the video here: Honda Vezel 1, Mitsubishi Lancer 0 The poor Mitsubishi Lancer! Its side mirror never stood a chance. Off it went to its spinning demise, spurned to the dusty tunnel floor, to be rolled over and flipped about by the other cars, for the rest of eternity. From the top: Even when the Vezel was behind the cam car, we can see that it has already been pushing past the long row of cars before. Then after he got past the cam car in question, here he is shown, speeding ahead. Oh no, watch out! Then, the tight squeeze... Leaving us to the first picture we came from: RIP, mirror! You are dearly missed. Time for judgement After the video was shared online, there were thoughts to be had and shared: That's right, because the Vezel certainly wasn't sparing any thought for the others around him, while blatantly disobeying traffic rules. Only motorbikes could dream to weave in between the gaps left by cars around them; not huge and bulky Vezels. We're not saying we condone license plate plucking but... Finally, one comment had a very good explanation as to why the Vezel was so eager to pass through the line of cars ahead: Lol! Understandable, but not an excuse for his behaviour. Mind your actions on the road please Because of their selfishness, the Vezel driver posed a danger to the cars around them, even damaging another in the process. Don't be like them. Not only will you be cursed at, but you could get into trouble too. Singapore's Road Traffic Rules states that "no vehicle shall be driven, moved, stopped or allowed to remain at rest on any shoulder or verge", unless there is a valid reason. We hope this lawbreaker learns from this incident. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. The story is that an ‘Ah Seah Kia’ used his dad’s BMW to race along the KPE and he got caught For anyone wondering what an ‘Ah Seah Kia’ is, it essentially means a ‘rich man’s offspring’, often also referred to as 富二代 (fu er dai) . In this story, it’s basically a spoiled child using his daddy’s money for kicks on the highway Watch the video for yourself below Too Fast, Too Furious Caught speeding at 154km/h (almost twice the prescribed speed limit along the KPE), this rich man’s offspring was charged with jail time, a fine as well as a driving ban. But wait, there’s more! That doesn’t seem to be the only law that he broke so far, apparently this video was caught during the Covid-19 circuit breaker back in 2020, where all of us were not allowed to leave our homes unless it was for essential purposes. For violating Covid-19 regulations as well as for driving in a dangerous manner under the Road Traffic Act, he was jailed for a week and fined $4000 on June 21. As part of his sentence, he was also suspended from holding or obtaining all classes of driving licenses for a period of 2 years. Seems about right, this irresponsible behavior on the road could lead to potential fatal accidents. Perhaps his punishment should have been more severe, Netizens called for a harsher punishment that might properly discipline someone with access to ‘daddy’s money’. Its maximum sentence indicates that he could have been jailed for up to 18 months, fined up to $15,000 in total, and be disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving license for life. I counted 10 other cars in the video! What happened to the rest? Besides the BMW, a blue Nissan GTR was also caught on video speeding along the KPE with at least 9 other cars. In an effort to protect his wife upon discovering that video footage of his GTR speeding was posted online, Tan Choon Hwee took his car to the paint shop for it to be resprayed in yellow to evade suspicion. But justice was served when he pleaded guilty on March 11 to intentionally misleading the police and was jailed for a week. There have been no further updates about the fate of his wife and the other drivers. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. There's a Hokkien saying that goes like this: "kiang jiu ho, mai gei kiang", which simply means "Smart can already, don't try to be too smart". And NGL, this statement is very true! Watch what happens when two motorcyclists attempt their "smart" move to avoid congestion: What Happened? As usual, the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) was jammed up during the morning peak hour. Among the many motorists caught in the jam were two particular motorcyclists who decided that they no longer had the patience to be caught up in a jam. One motorcyclist was riding along the shoulder of the KPE. Meanwhile, the other motorcyclist cut his way through from lane 1 to the shoulder of the KPE. And yes, you guessed it right - They ended up colliding with each other on the expressway shoulder when the latter was switching lanes to the shoulder of the KPE. Netizens' Comments During traffic jam means 'bo cheng hu' mah. Woah, this netizen here got no chill at all. Do you think this lesson will be enough for them not to ride on the road shoulder again?🤔 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. Tyres are important to any vehicle because they are the sole point of contact between the road and your vehicle. Regardless of the type of tyre equipped, it is always important to drive prudently and refrain from speeding, especially during wet weather conditions. Watch what befalls this speeding Audi on a rainy day: Location The incident location is on the ECP towards KPE (ECP) at exit 14. The image below is what the area looks like during good weather. What Happened? An Audi TT was travelling on lane 1 of ECP at a relatively high speed while it was raining. Due to its speed and the wet road conditions, the Audi sports car lost traction to its wheels, causing it to aquaplane. Within seconds, it spun out of control - it slid across the expressway, from lane one to the last lane. Just when it was about to smash into the railings, the Audi TT gained some traction in its wheels and seemingly executed a well-performed J-turn (out of pure luck). Miraculously, the Audi TT emerged unharmed - WITHOUT A SINGLE SCRATCH. The Audi driver probably used up his entire year's worth of luck. Netizens' Comments Confirm shrink one. I am not surprised if he stops driving after this traumatic experience. NGL, this is the fastest way I have seen someone exit an expressway. How fast do y'all think he was going? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  6. To the owner of this black Jaguar F-PACE, someone is desperately looking for you. Earlier today, a video was posted online showing a cam car driver bumping into the back of a black Jaguar F-PACE in the KPE tunnel on 19th May. The owner of the cam car is currently reaching out on social media platforms to locate the Jaguar driver to privately settle the damages. Both vehicles were driving on Lane 2 when they noticed that the lane was closed further ahead due to another road accident. The Jaguar driver signalled right to filter to the extreme right lane but was unable to fully enter the lane. As a result, the cam car driver couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting the back of the vehicle. Due to the heavy traffic conditions at that time, the cam car driver signalled the Jaguar driver to meet further down the tunnel to settle the insurance claims for the incident. However, as he continued driving in Lane 2 and stopped further in front, he was unable to find the Jaguar driver (who was supposed to appear from his right). As such, the cam car driver had to take the Lorong Halus exit out of the KPE and continued to his destination. According to the cam car driver, he filed a police report that day and he is willing to pay the Jaguar driver for the damages that he caused. If you recognise the license plate number or know of someone who had gotten into a similar accident recently, do head on to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page and post a response.
  7. Is this another case of drivers having ego issues? Or was the driver of the Toyota Hiace simply not paying attention? Posted on SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page is this video of two drivers exiting into the KPE via a merging lane. We have no idea why would either driver would allow such a silly accident to happen to themselves. In our reckoning, the accident probably happened at less than 20km/h with the Hiace mini van slowing going into the rear of the Hyundai Elantra as the lane merges into a single one. Is the trouble of needing to waste time and money to get both vehicles repaired worth it? We think not. Giving way to the other vehicle and/or paying attention on the road is a way smarter option in our opinion...
  8. Final link of new KPE and TPE interchange completed ahead of schedule sources: https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/final-link-of-new-kpe-and-tpe-interchange-completed-ahead-of-schedule SINGAPORE - The final link of the interchange between Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) and Tampines Expressway (TPE) has been completed ahead of schedule, Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean said in a Facebook post on Monday (Nov 9). Residents will have more direct links to and from the KPE and TPE with the new interchange, which was previously projected to be completed by June 2021. This will help improve traffic flow on the TPE as well as the network of roads that lead out of the growing Punggol Town area. Previous extensions of the interchange include a new road to TPE (towards the Seletar Expressway) that provided motorists an additional route between Pasir Ris and Punggol last November. Another extension to Punggol Central Road in November 2018 took motorists to Halus link, which then connects to the KPE (towards East Coast Parkway) and to the TPE (towards Changi). Mr Teo, who is also a Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, visited the new slip road that connects Punggol Central to TPE on Monday with Senior Minister of State for Transport and Sustainabilility and the Environment Amy Khor, as well as other MPs of Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, Mr Desmond Tan, who is also Minister of State for Home Affairs and Sustainability and the Environment, and Ms Yeo Wan Ling. The link at Lorong Halus allows traffic from Pasir Ris and Punggol to flow smoothly to the westbound TPE towards Jurong. The six phases of the project took five years to complete, said Mr Teo. Parts of the roadway in the new extension rests on 2,000 specially coated piles, which are around 50m deep, he said.
  9. We know that all of us should be keeping a safe distance from each other in such times. But we reckon these guys that have been caught on video might have taken it abit too far. This video, as posted by SG Road Vigilante, shows a slow moving camera car (claimed to be doing 80km/h but it looks more like 60km/h to us) that was traveling on KPE towards TPE chancing upon a bunch or cars that were abit too keen to distance themselves from any traffic around them. Apparently this happened on the wee hours of 16th May morning and from what we can gather, the lead car is a R34 Nissan Skyline that zoomed past the camera car at a speed that seemed to double the legal speed limit of the KPE. Its hard to tell from the video but other than the Skyline, we could also identify a few other cars including a Suzuki Swift, a Volkswagen Golf, a Volkswagen Jetta (that might have been the same guy that was charged for organising illegal street racing), a Mitsubishi Evo 9 and a couple of Honda Civics. Interestingly, most of the comments were attacking the camera car for being slow. We wonder why. On the other hand, there will always be keyboard warriors that come out with weird and silly comments like the example below... 95563179_890011821514718_986642270115562833_n.mp4
  10. At last, 14 more days! Punggol is getting its new road to TPE/KPE being Phase 1 starting 25 Nov 2018. Hope that it alleviates the peak hour jam (even on weekends). Kinda of excited as I'm personally affected by the jam everyday. Let's look at the situation after it opens. But then again, it is during school holidays and the real situation should be reflected next year when school reopens. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/new-punggol-link-road-to-tpe-kpe-10908120
  11. State the road name, direction and location.
  12. For those who frequent these route especially after and before the tunnel near TPE. Once spotted a TP car hidden behind the defunct exit few meters before TPE/SLE junction. and also toward KPE tunnel, one TP car stop at chevron where Buangkok E Drive join with TPE, a TP standing there holding a laser gun.
  13. Are you one of the 55 "heroes"? More motorists have been caught speeding at a stretch of the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) that has retained its 70-kilometre per hour speed limit. Singapore SINGAPORE: More motorists have been caught speeding at a stretch of the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) that has retained its 70-kilometre per hour speed limit. The speed limit for the KPE was raised to 80 kilometres per hour on December 29 last year, except for a stretch near the Upper Paya Lebar Road north bound exit and the Airport Road south bound exit. In a written response to a Parliamentary question from MP for Tampines GRC Baey Yam Keng, Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew said that last month, about 55 motorists were caught speeding daily, up from about 30 per day in October last year. Mr Baey had also asked whether there is a need to enhance the signs to remind motorists of the lower speed limit. Mr Lui said the Land Transport Authority will add two pairs of "Reduce Speed Now" signs along the stretches approaching the location. This is on top of the existing signs and road markings. - CNA/al (source: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/more-motorists-caught/1001338.html )
