  2. Hi guys, just want to ask a question. I recently changed my tyres. Ordered and installed the wrong tyre profile. Supposed to be 225/45/R18 But installed 225/40/R18 Will there be any detrimental effects on the car, tyres, or other things?
  3. Wanna check with the experts.. Currently driving a company rented 2006 vios.. Brought the car back to the car rental company as back tyre sidewall got cracks and leaking air. Checked by a tyre shop and proceeded to change to 2 recon tires for the back. Problem now, Before that, all 4 tires were Falken 185/55R16. After, front 2 Falken 185/55R16, back 2 Nexen 205/50R16. When i asked the tire shop, they told me it is ok. Most BMW are doing the same. I have never ever heard of this before. Won't different tire profile and size for the front and back affect the car stability? Need advise from the experts
  4. Mod any explanation?
  5. I just wondering and figuring, If a tyre were to puncture at high speed, it is true that High Profile tyre will tend to lost control more than Low Profile tyre?

  18. Need advice from fellow MCFers. Passenger cars have to send for inspection from 3rd year onward. Will the inspection center check the tyre profile to be same as recommended by car maker? And if it is loose about this, what is the biggest deviation you ever try and could pass the inspection? I understand normal rule of thumb is to change within 5%. But if it will affect inspection outcome, then I better stick to official one. Many TIA.
  19. any brother can advise if i can upsize the profile of my tire current stock is 235/55/18 inch - thinking of upsize to 235/60/18
  20. Hi Guys. Need your advice on the tire profile. For suzuki swift 1.3XG, do you think it is able to fit in with 195/65/15?
  21. There are high-end cars that are built with great performance, comfort and handling. Some of these brands emphasize cabin quietness and comfort as their forte..However, on the other hand, some owners, choose to go for very low profile tyres with them. Most orginally come with 55 or 50 size but owner would go all way out to 40,35 all so on...... So if a great car is equiped with good sound dampness and cabin comfort, why would one has to fit it with low profile tires? Would a low profile tires not introducing road noise and discomfort for passengers particularly for long distance drive. With so little rubber to support its weight on the road, would it introduce pre-mature wear and tear? Larger rims also prone to scratches and damage. Unless, we are saying that no matter what size tires that we throw to them, quietness and road comfort are still not compromised and will not break hence the price you paid. What do you think? Thank you. Regards,
  22. Guys, If change to this tyre profile size, is the comfort really no more and I heard the car stability is good inclusive of the cornering, is that true?
  23. As mentiones, can someone let me know how to delete my PM's as it says my mailbox is FULL. I do not want to delete ALL the PM. Only the old, seleceted ones. Some I keep for reference. Also I notoces some errors in my Profile Pgae. I wonder which SOB amended it? & I cant seem to put it right. I became older & my wife died without me knowing. WTF? Maybe some Moderators here can advise? Thanks.
  24. Would like to find out which tyre profile you guys prefer if using 7j rims and why. 225 tyres should be able to 'wrap' the rims and therefore prevent the rims from being scratched, right?
  25. just wondering if any of you noticed the increasing number of road accidents lately, especially after the increase profile of F1 in Singapore leading up to the night race in sept. do you think there a co-relation or singaporeans have always been speedsters? i've come across more tailgaters(slipstream), aggressive overtakers(late braking), and high speed cornering(apex driving) cars these days then say just 2 years ago. what do you guys think?
