My mother-in-law had leukemia diagnosed about 3 months back. She had seek treatment in KL best medical facility and unfortunately after the first chemo, if I have spell it correctly, the doctor says the results was not satisfactory and recommend no further treatment be administed due to old age and weak health. The family now wants to bring her to Singapore for treatment as they do not want to give up hope yet. Which hospital is better with dealing this type of cancer, or have a better record of successful cases, if anyone knows pls let me know? Since she is a foreigner, is it better for her to be admin into a private hospital than a government hospital as the family is financial not too well off. Thks in advance for whatever advises that comes in.

hi bro and sis, need some advise. i am going to change my tyres in about 1-2 months time, am not sure of what tyres should i get. maybe you guys can help me by giving my some comments. i am considering either getting a 195/55/R16 or 195/50/R16. currently on Goodyear Revspec RS-02 205/45/R16 upgraded from 185/65/R14 bridgestone REVIEW ON REVSPEC RS-02 -wear off very fast -abit bumpy -excellent dry and wet grip -abit noisy here are my priorities for upcoming new tyres : 1. quietness/Noise 2. Dry and wet Grip 3. comfort 4. Lasting 5. Budget thanks in advance

Hi guys, I'm posting to enquiry on behalf of a friend who has committed a traffic offence. This is the situation. On a 4 lane road, with the rightmost lane being the lane that turns to the right, while the remaining 3 lanes are heading straight. While the traffic lights are red, and only the right turn arrow is green, my friend turned from the second lane from the right which is a straight lane. As there is a red light camera there. Very likely the car is captured on camera. Now, beating the red light constitutes a 12 point + $200. My question is how about turning right on a lane that is supposed to be heading straight, how many points will that be? I checked the TP site, and I think the nearest offence that I can find is "forming incorrectly when turning left or right". Is this the right one? Is there any chance of appeal in such situation? -

Hi, I had booked my car during the COE crash. After one month plus, my SE has not gotten me the COE as the price went up too high. Now, he tells me to top up my guaranteed COE. He gave me three options: a) Top up 1.5K and company top up $500. The company will bid the COE at 14K. b) Top up 2K and company top up $1k. The company will bid the COE at 15K. c) Top up 3K - will definitely get you the COE on the coming bid. For all the above option, strictly no refund unless it drops below 12K. So which option should I take? My feel is that the coming COE will go up by another 1K plus and option b) should be the reasonable option since expected COE will be 14.5K or above(??) But there is another problem. My COE is supposed to be 3 bid guaranteed. So why is there a need for top up??? But the customer have no case for it as in the sales agreement, there is a clause which states that the company have the right to increase the price due to COE increase. But if I continue to wait and not to top up, I may not be able to get my car at all since the COE will only goes up(?) and not down for the coming few months. I do have a trade-in arrangement with them and so I think they will not drag for my COE. Will there be such a case whereby they will not bid for my COE at all and simply just return me my deposit? If so, I can forgo about changing car liao. Any bro or sis can advise?

Currently, we (me and my hubby) has 1 OPC car bought 1 mths back. I just got my license recently, and hope to drive to wk frm now on. When we bought our OPC, we were thinking of topping-up after our Ceremony as alot of our cash are tie-up as deposit and only he is driving. Both of us work very close to home, 30min travelling time (trains+ bus+ alking) only. Options 1) Top-up our OPC and drive as a normal car. - car too big for me to park.. *sianz* - car is manual ... *sianz* - car has 5.2k COE..Is it worth topping-up ? 2) Buy another small car ( R2 , picanto , march ~40k) - easier for me to park - auto!! BTW, anyone know if i buy the 2nd as a normal car,then convent it to a OPC.can i transfer the rebate amt as top-up for my 1st car to normal?

Hi, I m collecting my Octy on 01 May 07......but my current car's installment is due on 28 Apr 07. I tried calling the bank to stop the GIRO but they said i must call the auto loan bank (Citibank). Questions: 1) If i call up the Citibank to stop the GIRO...will they ask me for full settlement on the spot? I have agreed to trade in my car so the used car dealer will settle the loan with my top-up. I understand that the full settlement shld be ard mif of May 07. 2) who is supposed to inform the Citibank? Me or CA or Used car dealer? 3) if they deduct my latest installment, my full settlement amt will be different. will the used car dealer pay me back? 4) Any better way on how to do this? This is my 1st time trading in car so advices are greatly appreciated.

My wife likes to keep a pair of slippers under the driver seat cos she can't drive with her heels. I don't like the idea cos the slippers get in the way. Any lady drivers here can advise her how to drive with her heels or do you gals change shoes before driving too?

Been hearing about sidestep and slipping clutch for MT cars, but i have no idea how is it done. Believe they would be hurting the clutch if not corrected. So... is there vids about correcting these technique? TIA

dear all, very tired, finally got home after getting my ICE fixed up. anyway i've just a modest set up, 'cos i just only have a 2-ch amp, two 8" speakers as sub woofer and brand new Boss speaker and tweeter bought from the shop. now the help is needed from you experts. the 2 ch amp is get from my collleague as it's a spare to him, the brand is californa dunno what model le and also the 8" speakers is also from him. now i suppose i'll be buying from him but he yet to quote me a price, to prevent being by him...can you guys roughly give me the market price and the should-be second hand price. tks in advance.

Ok I have been pumping SPC with combination of my Safra card and POSB CC to get 21% + 4% rebate for this month...I was browsing and thinking that many here uses others like Shell and Mobil...I tried Shell with UOB card last week and total discount is 19% + 3% smart pts As there is a new shell just pop out near my place...CCK...I was think of changing as SPC always nowhere to be found...must travel to JE for that...further, shell have pts...so should I go shell?

Hi all bros out there, anyone know how to program our superb to auto lock after drive off? some make need to step brake to lock(eg. Suzuki), some at certain speed will auto lock (eg. Nissan), how about our Superb? I read somewhere here else in the forum(lounge), that it is able to be done? Any advise? Thank in advance

Dear All I was involved in an accident about 6 months ago. My Wish was rear-ended by a trailer and I repaired my car at STAR Auto, and made a 3rd party claim against the trailer. Now, STAR Auto tells me that the other party's lawyers have rejected my claim. They sent me a letter supposedly from an independent "witness" who stated that he say me driving recklessly, cut in front of the trailer and braked suddently. In fact, I had overtaken the tralier, and had to brake because a car pulled out of its parking space just in front of me. I know that the so-called "witness" is bogus because in his letter, he stated that he saw a female passenger alight and take photos of the accident. The thing is, I was alone in the car. My wife, who left for work after I did, arrived at the accident site 10 minutes after it happened, got out of her cab, and helped me take the photos. The trailer hit my car sqaurely from the back. My question is, since the other side has an "independent witness", what are my chances of winning the case? The bloody claim is about $14k. What do you guys think?

I want to mod my exhaust to straight twinpipes.Have read thru the threads and there are few places like Jeep Chee,Fong Kim, Man exhaust.. Can any expert guide me to which shop is better to get it done with better workmanship and reasonable price? Only for cosmetic purposes. By the way I'm driving a Merc C200. Thanks in advance to all!

Hi, would like to have some advise on some ICE setup. Currently my rde comes with a Pioneer HU (cant remember the model) I have just installed a Apline Active Sub. I am looking for a decent component speaker budget around $250. I have went ard a few shop and the more shop i vist the more confuse as all speaker seem good to me. Can some expert advise with my budget which brand and model should I be looking? Do I need a Amp when my HU is 50W X 2? shld I change the back speaker to Coaxial or component? And can someone recommend me any good and reliable shop? Thanks alot!

Hi Ususally I pump 95 for my sunny. Occasionally I will pump 98 or even V power if I have to drive my in-laws over the wknd or when the car will be heavy laden. Will pumping higher Octane spoil my car? -
My frd is driving a Chevolet Aveo 5 (Hatch) for abt a yr, OPC... mileage abt 20k. The steering wheel start wobbling fr 90km/hr on a even road... things get with higher speed. I've test drove his car and find it unbelievable. The situation is quite bad... he went to Starauto and gt the standard "it's like that one" kinda answer aft performing sm checks. Any kind soul here encounter or c/across such prob... pls advise on hw 2 rectify it. thx alot...
