  1. Acura NSX Is The Fastest Production Hybrid Ever At Pikes Peak source: https://www.motor1.com/news/442210/acura-nsx-fastest-hybrid-pikes-peak/ The race to the clouds is alive and well in 2020. Nestled in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Pikes Peak is an area that means so much to people from all walks of life. Some may see a hiking paradise, others a quiet one-mile raceway, but ask any petrolhead and they’ll describe it as home to one of the most fearsome hill climbs in the world. In the latest running, Acura proved its hand with the NSX as the fastest performance hybrid in the race. In the driver’s seat was chief Acura engineer James Robinson, a 10-time Pikes Peak veteran with podium finishes in the Exhibition, Open, and Time Attack 1 classes. This year competing in the TA1 class, he came up against some fierce competition with a Porsche 935 tribute car driven by Jeff Zwart and GT2 RS Clubsport piloted by David Donner amongst the runners. The NSX time attack special produced a third-place finish in class, with the two Porsches of Donner and Zwart ahead. It’s clear the top three were the undisputed class off the field, with the Acura finishing almost a minute ahead of the next-best car. Results aside, it’s clear that the NSX competitor wasn’t just a stock vehicle taken from a dealership and dropped on the Pikes Peak start line. The hill climb special sports a massive rear wing, aggro front splitter, 200 pounds of weight reduction, and HRE wheels shod with sticky Pirelli rubber. The engine has also been fettled to the tune of 625 horsepower (466 kilowatts) in comparison to the standard 573. Aside from exploits up the mountain, Acura Motorsports remains integral to the brand since its launch in 1986. In its tenure, the partnership has produced multiple championships in the American sports car racing scene with both prototype and GT3 challengers. If their track record is anything to go by, we’d wager that Acura will be back to take the top step next year. Regardless, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb remains one of the longest-running motorsports events in America.
  2. Formula One drivers will be awarded a point for the doing the fastest lap in each race, starting from the season-opening race in Melbourne on 17th of March. Similar to Formula E, the point will only be awarded if the driver with the fastest lap actually finishes the race in the top 10. According to Autonews, the ruling has been approved by the Sporting Working Group and the Strategy Group. However, it still needs to be passed by an e-vote of the Formula 1 Commission. This is not actually a new rule as a similar rule was in place during the first 10 years of Formula 1 in the 1950s.

Singaporeans Among Fastest To Get Rich .....

Rich in 10 years, I'm working for the past 40 years, where's my $$$$$$$$$$ .... from Yahoo: Singaporeans among fastest to get rich More than half (51 percent) of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in Singapore became rich in less than 10 years, making them the world's fastest group to accumulate wealth, according to a report from Barclays. Singapore also had the highest percentage of respondents (at 14 percent) who accumulated wealth in less than five years, cementing the city-state's position as the top 'get rich quick' centre. On average, 26 percent of HNWIs across the globe achieved their net worth of at least US$1.5 million (S$1.9 million) in less than 10 years. Singapore's super rich also bested respondents from Qatar, where 48 percent built up their wealth in less than 10 years, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with 32 percent and India at 30 percent. Completing the top five is China (27 percent) and Hong Kong at 16 percent. Meanwhile, HNWIs in Switzerland and the United States were the slowest, with less than 10 percent attaining their wealth in under 10 years. Entitled "Origins and Legacy: The Changing Order of Wealth Creation," the Barclays report polled more than 2,000 HNWIs across the globe. 9. Kimi Raikkonen set for Formula 1 return after signing a two-year deal with Lotus Renault GP Lotus Renault GP have confirmed that former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will return to the Formula One grid next season after signing a two-year deal with the team. Back in action: Kimi Raikkonen won the F1 world title with Ferrari in 2007 Photo: AP By Emily Benammar 8:15AM GMT 29 Nov 2011 The Finnish driver, who walked away from Formula One at the end of the 2009 season in order to compete in the World Rally Championship for two years, lifted the F1 world title in 2007 while driving with Ferrari. Lotus Renault GP looked set to announce another driver after Robert Kubica last week said he was unlikely to return next season as he continues with his recovery from a near fatal rallying accident in February. Thrilled to be back on the scene, Raikkonen said: "I'm delighted to be coming back to Formula 1 after a two-year break, and I'm grateful to Lotus Renault GP for offering me this opportunity "My time in the World Rally Championship has been a useful stage in my career as a driver, but I can't deny the fact that my hunger for F1 has recently become overwhelming. "It was an easy choice to return with Lotus Renault GP as I have been impressed by the scope of the team's ambition. Now I'm looking forward to playing an important role in pushing the team to the very front of the grid." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorspor...Renault-GP.html

  13. Just 24 hours after Nico Rosberg was languishing in ninth place on the time sheet, 3.2 seconds off the pace in the first day of testing in Jerez, up popped his Mercedes team-mate Michael Schumacher with the fastest time of the day in Southern Spain. A return to form for the veteran seven time world champion you may think and all the more impressive considering his younger German countryman more than had his measure last season upon Schumacher's return to Formula One. Setting the pace: Michael Schumacher was quickest in Jerez (above) Setting the pace: Michael Schumacher was quickest in Jerez (above) Indeed, Rosberg was forced to start making promises of better things to come from the Merecdes W02 by the time the teams reached Bahrain for the final test prior to the start of the 2011 season in the Middle Eastern country. All the more amazing then that at the ripe old age of 42 that Schumacher should teach the young bucks a thing or two in a car which, at best, is far from the finished article and, at worst, may turn out to be no better than last year's disappointing machine. Well, not quite. Schumacher's time was set on his first hot lap on Pirelli's new super-soft compound - Jenson Button later claimed the fast degrading new rubber is worth in the region of a second a lap. And while Schumacher bristled at the suggestion he was light on fuel, the fact remains he only stayed out for ten laps in that stint - his times getting progressively slower suggesting he had wrung everything out the car and its tyres to pop in a morale boosting time. Title contender: Schumacher is one of five world champions in the field the season Title contender: Schumacher is one of five world champions in the field Schumacher's performance had more to do with the smoke and mirrors that goes on during pre-season testing and while his time might make an exciting headline, you really do have to believe the drivers when they say that all that really counts is how their new car performs in the first Grand Prix of the season. On the subject of keeping ones cards close to ones chest, Button spoke of his need to wait for almost two hours while his McLaren mechanics made some major changes to his car. LAP TIMES ON DAY TWO IN JEREZ 1. Michael Schumacher Mercedes 1m20.352s (112 laps completed) 2. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1m20.413s (116) 3. Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes 1m21.009s (69) 4. Jaime Alguersuari Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1m21.214s (72) 5. Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault 1m21.613s (113) 6. Adrian Sutil Force India-Mercedes 1m21.780s (73) 7. Sergio Perez Sauber-Ferrari 1m21.857s (56) 8. Timo Glock Virgin-Cosworth 1m22.208s (57) 9. Vitaly Petrov Renault 1m22.493s (65) 10. Pastor Maldonado Williams-Cosworth 1m22.591s (38) 11. Jarno Trulli Lotus-Renault 1m23.216s (40) Those major changes were to the exhaust system, with McLaren swapping their conventional layout for the forward facing pipes employed by Renault. The gas emerges from an exhaust at the bottom of the sidepods and is the latest trick being tried to increase all-important downforce. Button also spent the day, his first in the new McLaren MP4-26, getting to grips with the KERS system which stores the energy from braking to deliver a quick burst of power. He also got to play with the moveable rear wing which, along with KERS and Pirelli tyres, is designed to create a more exciting spectacle for the viewer this season. 'I am getting used to KERS because it is new to me, as it is to most drivers,' said Button who did not have the system on the Brawn which carried him to the 2009 driver's championship. 'I tried the rear wing a couple of times, not in anger but just to see if it was working. It is just like pushing the KERS button; the boost you get from it is amazing. It is very efficient. The speed you pick up is amazing. But it is one of those things that you want to take a bit of time over before you actually use it in anger. 'I sat behind a Renault when it was adjusting and I didn't realise how quick it was going to move. It is an amazing bit of kit but it is comedy following someone who is using it because it just looks wrong. It is like something has fallen off!' As for the new tyres. 'It is going to be fun for racing and I think it is what everyone wanted, tyres that are very different to each other,' said Button. 'There are big differences from the hard, through to the medium, through the soft and to the super soft. There are big differences in terms of lap time and also in terms of degradation.' Understandably, Button was less forthcoming about McLaren's radical new exhaust layout. But having finished the day in a respectable third place, without the benefit of setting a time on the super-soft tyres, Button proclaimed himself happy enough with the car's progress even at this early stage. 'We haven't set the world alight but we have collected important data and on Sunday we can have a crack at seeing what the car has in it,' he said. The weekend will provide another pointer as to the coming campaign, but the truth will only out once the cars head out for qualifying in Bahrain four weeks. Until then, lap times like Schumacher's are much like the exhaust gasses the teams are trying to harness, little more than hot air. 17. Flavio Briatore has denied likening Jenson Button last year to a concrete bollard, but admits he does not highly rate F1's reigning champion and current championship leader. When a younger and less focused Button struggled at Briatore-led Benetton in 2001, the Italian said his British driver was so slow at Monaco it seemed he was scouting for a new place to moor his yacht. And in 2009, when Button was driving a Brawn and running away with the title amid the double-diffuser controversy, Briatore said the 30-year-old was a "paracarro" -- an Italian word for a concrete roadside post. But one year later, Button is not only the reigning world champion, he has also impressed the F1 world by showing well alongside the highly rated Lewis Hamilton and winning two of his first four races at the wheel of a McLaren. Briatore is quoted as saying in Italian reports: "I never said he (Button) was not good, but for me he is not among the five fastest drivers in the world." Source: GMM

Fernando Alonso climbed into his Ferrari for the first time and by the time he had completed only twenty nine laps in testing at Valencia he had stamped his domination on all other teams and drivers. He was over half a second faster than anyone else. Boylesports Bonus Calculator * Deposit Bonus
