  1. Raining very heavily this afternoon and any bros here going to Ubi Autobacs on rainy days please please be extra careful when manoeuvring in Autobacs Ubi carpark. The flooring has almost no friction when the floor is wet. Was there this afternoon, while doing and right turn trying to exit the carpark, very gently tapped on the brakes and whole car skidded and buang onto the auto barrier. Wasnt even speeding at all. If you all notice, it is also very slippery even when you are walking. Barrier box a bit slanted and barrier cannot work anymore. Awaiting quote for the damage. $$$$ fly. This is just a warning to all bros, unnecessary comments is not welcomed. Would be good if anyone in this line knows the rough $$ damage of the repair of the barrier.... [shakehead]

  6. Malaysian highway robbers spray liquid on tyres to create smoke Highway robbers now using new tactic to rob motorists, a Stomp contributor claimed according to an e-mail he received. Tue, Mar 27, 2012 AsiaOne A Stomp contributor sent in this e-mail that highlighted a new tactic currently used by highway robbers in Malaysia. The contributor Chiongster said the robbers spray a liquid on the tyres that creates a burst of smoke to fool unwary drivers into pulling over. The Stomp contributor called for fellow drivers to be careful when they drive into Malaysia, especially in Petaling Jaya and areas around Kuala Lumpur. He said: "Take steps to protect yourself, and don't stop unnecessarily. If you have to pull over, do it where there are lots of people nearby." "When you encounter such a situation, don't panic. Stay calm and don't park your car to check what is going on," the contributor added. "Once you get out from your car, they will snatch your belongings or may even harm you. "If you ever encounter such an incident, drive to a safe place where crowded people are or to a petrol or police station. As for the stain, use water to clean it up, that's all. Female motorists should be especially careful, he said, before adding that such a case had happened before.

  8. Jacuzzi horror The Star | Tue, Feb 14 2012 A Jacuzzi's suction was so strong that it almost killed a 158-cm boy. During the school holidays, my family and I went to a resort in Kuantan. Since it was the monsoon season, my sons, aged 11 and eight, were content with just swimming in the pool. On our final day at the hotel, my sons wanted to go into the Jacuzzi, and since there were many smaller children playing in it, I followed them in. Suddenly, my younger boy called out that his brother was at the bottom of the Jacuzzi and was not getting up. Quickly, I tried to pull him up, but to no avail. I screamed for help, and many people jumped in to help. The suction was so strong that it took my husband and four other men to pull my son out. He was resuscitated and rushed to a hospital, suffering lacerations on his chest and stomach. In the intensive care unit, my son cried, saying that he could have died. We comforted him, saying he was a hero and that he had saved many children's lives. If it were not for him, a smaller child would have got stuck in the suction pump and could have drowned. My son returned home to Kuala Lumpur three days later. I thank God and all the kind people who helped us on that frightful day. With God's grace, though bearing the scars of that frightful day, he has returned to swimming, his one true love. So all of you out there who feel like taking a dip in the Jacuzzi with your children, please bear in mind that it almost killed a 158-cm boy who weighed more than 50kg. 13. http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...722&DL=1001 Just to tell others in case they are interested. This is not the Celica you would want due to the intercooler. The Carlos Sianz (CS) Celica is supposed to be using a water to air cooler, not air to air. The owner has most likely replaced the engine. Changing the engine is not an issue cause GT4s are using the same 3SGTE engine. But he did not install back the water intercooler. There is also an intake duct for the timing belt that was not installed (not critical though). The bonnet of the CS Celica is designed to vent heat out of the engine bay, not take in air. Thus if you have an ATA intercooler placed on top of the engine, it will become a heater instead as there is no cool air passing over the intercooler. The owner ought to change the bonnet to those which is meant for ATA intercooler (it has an intake scoop like WRX bonnet).

  17. Retiree asks man to move his car... Instead, driver punches him twice in the face His shirt was soaked in blood and he needed 10 stitches Retiree alleges man bashed him over parking dispute, then went to have breakfast ALL he wanted was for the driver to shift his car. 17 May 2009 ALL he wanted was for the driver to shift his car. For that, he was punched so hard twice that he needed 10 stitches and possibly suffered a permanent scar on his lip. Retiree Lee KW, 63, and his wife, had driven to the Sembawang Hill Food Centre along Upper Thomson Road to have breakfast on Wednesday. But when he got there, he found the entrance to the carpark blocked by a black Toyota Camry that had been parked in front of another stationary car. He left his wife in his car, without switching off his engine, and went to tell the driver not to park there as he was blocking other vehicles from entering the carpark. The Toyota driver had just locked his car and was about to enter the food centre. 'I approached him and told him that this is not his private carpark, and that he should park further in instead of blocking the entrance,' said Mr Lee. 'The man argued that I myself had parked my vehicle at the side of the road. I could see that his face was turning red and he looked ready to fight.' By this time, Mr Lee's wife had stepped out and joined him. Sensing the man's anger, the couple quickly walked towards the food centre to avoid a fight. But the man threw a punch at Mr Lee's upper lip as they walked by, Mr Lee said. 'I turned to react, but before I knew it, he had punched my nose and I fell to the ground,' he said. Said Mrs Lee: 'The incident happened so quickly. Before I knew it, he was bleeding so badly from the nose and lips that his shirt was soaked with blood.' The other driver, meanwhile, went into the food centre with his female companion. Mr Lee then called the police and for an ambulance. When the police arrived, they took statements from the driver of the Toyota and Mr Lee. Split lip The force of the punch was so great that Mr Lee's upper lip split about 3cm . He received 10 stitches at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The Lees said the other driver looked to be in his 40s and 'rather big-sized'. Said Mr Lee: 'He is not a warrior on a chariot, so there was no need for aggression at all. He needs to behave himself. What if I had hit my head, or if it was an elderly person who had been punched instead?' The carpark at the food centre has only about 20 lots. It is chaotic even on weekday mornings, said regulars. Mr Lee said: 'I want to bring this up so that such things will not happen in the future. I hope there will be witnesses who are willing to step forward.' His son, sales manager Kelvin Lee, 33, has put up five A3-sized posters in both English and Mandarin on the pillars at Sembawang Hill Food Centre to appeal for witnesses. The younger Mr Lee said: 'The police told me that if I can find my own witnesses, it would be good. So far, only one guy has called to offer me advice.' He is not a witness. The police confirmed that they received a call at about 10am on Wednesday from a man who said he had been punched in the face. Police investigations are ongoing. Lawyer Amolat Singh says that in such cases, the victim has three options. First, he can file a magistrate's complaint via the Subordinate Courts, which will then direct the police to investigate. Second, he can also prepare his own private prosecution, in which he must prepare his own charges. Third, the magistrate can also mediate between the victim and the alleged assailant. The court will send a letter to order the accused to attend the mediation. The assailant could then make amends by compensating the victim for his medical expenses, apologise and give an undertaking not to do it again, said Mr Singh.

  21. To the driver of " GX 15 *" who drive recklessly alone ang mo kio ave 3 toward ubi at around 8.30pm on 13 March. I curse you and your lorry wrap around a tree and all the gas tanks on the lorry explose into frame. On such a wet and slippery road condition , most of the drivers are driving careful on the road but here we have this lorry driver who think that he some kind of F1 racing driver who change lane abruptly here and there for many times till i lost count. Are you rushing to delivery gas tank or what? You nearly cause 2 near miss accidents with me on two difference location. On both cases you actually horn at me and overtake me and immediate cut back to the lane abruptly and nearly cost cause me to skip when i jam my brake. What the hell do he wants from me when i was already on the left lane? I was fortunate that i wasn't travelling fast during the time. The way you cut the lane , i know you did it on purpose. This driver really spoilt my day. Thank for reading .

    Becareful..

Bros and sisters, becareful when you are driving around One Raffles Quay area near the Condo, The Sail. Last Friday, I was picking up my wife from work and was driving around the area when I heard a loud "PIAK". I stopped my car and came out to check my ride. I thought some stones might have been sprayed onto my ride. I couldn't find anything and was quite relieved when I looked up and saw a crater of the size of a 50 cents coin on the roof of my car! There was a piece of rock with some fragments scattered around the roof. Apparently, this rock dropped from the The Sail!! I approached the supervisors in the construction site immediately and explained to him that I have a piece of their property on the roof of my car! He examined the rock and confered with his troopers before telling me that they would repair my car. He took down my particulars and I took his namecard. He told me that the company would call me as soon as possible to settle the issue. But I am still waiting for their call.. I am wondering.. How long should I wait till before I start making noises? Which Govt agency should I approached if let say they decided to play punk? Thank God it's my ride that got hit, not a person's head! Imagine the impact if the rock fell from 50+ storeys!! How much would it cost to remove the dent and maybe respray the roof? Paint was chipped off also. PS. I told myself that I should buy 4D as my car was damn "heng" to be hit by the rock while on the move! As usual, I forgot and it came out!!
  23. the cross junction outside ngee ann city and meritus mandarin recently have a changed in the traffic light sequence. example if you are trying to cross from ngee ann city to paragon, vehicles are also able to drive straight towards paragon via ngee ann city which is as per normal. but after the light turns red, pedestrian can still cross in all direction from ngee ann city-->paragon-->swensen-->mandarin.at this point of time, all vehicles are not allowed to move as there will be a white "X" sign shown on the traffic lights. be more cautious if you are driving or crossing the junction.don't assume the next traffic light will be in your favour.cheers.

  25. I was out of Eng Neo from PIE stopped right infront of the u turning corner red liht waiting to enter Bt Timah road and subsequently into Sixth Ave. One big F****** dump truck was also stopping on my right in front of the traffic light wanting to go into Sixth Ave as well. Do u know why I know he wants to go into Sixth Ave? bcos the moment the red light turned green, the F****** uncle disregard my existence and even before I can release my right foot from my brake, he simply swerve himself into my lane and cross in front of me! luckily, the back bumper of his F****** truck is lucky to be high enough to have only bang into my right wing mirror crossing above my bonnet. I immediately horned him but it seemed that he did not noticed his bloody F****** backside kena me and still want to proceed! I horned & horned until somebody might have alerted him to stop...not enough, even before I can stop and alight from my car, he still want to run again! I was soooo F****** angry with him that I gave him a BIG scolding until he apologised like his urine wanting to come out. However he was lucky that I am still alive! and best of all, my conti is still a conti, no scratches at all, he was lucky though, if not i will make sure he make a hole out of his wallet! Just imagine that if he were to swerve out an inch or so nearer, my destination yesterday would be a different place! Guys, such an ignorant driver don't need speed to be bad, be very careful on the road, especially next to, behind or in front of big vehicles, they have a lot of blind spots!
