  1. I have email and posted comments on his blog but NO reply questions to him 1. Have you declare that you do not have self interest (that is you did yourself invest in the minibonds) in the minibond that you appear to be fighting so hard for the people 2. If you want to run for the president why do you want to have 100,000 signatures before you decide to apply? Could this be just vanity or an ego trip? 3. While in NTUC as the Chairman what were you doing, hibernating or sucking eggs (must big ones like ostrich eggs) for the past 30 years AND suddenly you come out to grind your axe with almost everyone who had worked with you like your replacement in NTUC and the authorities. I asked if he stepped down or was removed but did not get a reply. These are just but few of the burning questions that people would like to know but you have kept mum. you seek greater transparency from the authorities but how about starting with yourself first especially if you already demonstrated your interest in running for presidency. What do you guys think?
  2. Answering phone call is above all ...... yahoo news : Teller Laughs at Cleaver Wielding Man This tough teller isn't fazed by a bank robber. Matter of fact, she's so calm that she laughs in the guy's face when he shows her his weapon. watch the video : http://sg.news.yahoo.com/video/teller-laughs-cleaver-wielding-man-182256148.html Maybe he forgot his purpose in the bank...
  3. Where can we find the cleanest workshop? Where do we park when we should be driving, and drive when we should be parking? Which professions use the same word/name but have are world apart in social status? Which two creatures share the same name but one has body fully covered up, the other is the opposite? Why the chicken crossed the street? (old question now needs new answer) Why lightning strikes every 4 yrs? (this one optional quizz)
  4. Yep another typical don't-know-how-lucky-you-are letter from a foreigner. Geee why are there an increasing number of such citizen-admonishing letters lately? Again to folks like them, being a cabinet minister here is a thankless job. Well for $1.1m, most inlcuding yours truly are willing to accept the "thankless" part. [laugh] http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_754518.html Ballot box answer to minister's salary Published on Jan 12, 2012 THE job of a politician is much more complex than that of a chief executive officer (CEO) of a private company ('Variable component' by Mr Kevin Kwek; Tuesday). A CEO is motivated purely by profits, even if it means axing jobs. A minister's task is multi-dimensional. He has to keep the economy on a sound footing, create wealth, jobs and infrastructure as well as look to security, to name a few. If a minister does not perform, vote him out - that is how the question of his salary should be resolved. I am from India on a long-term visit pass and I clearly see the distinction with which Singapore has been steered by its ministers. Singaporeans should be proud of the leaders they have had, and have, and reward them well for a job well done. This will encourage a fresh crop of non-corrupt, young, talented citizens to take up the thankless job of a minister. Marcel J. Misquith

  8. Ever wonder why the MIWs suddenly got so compassionate towards animals rights recently... especially cats... Well, there seems to be a research that ppl who get infected with Toxoplasma gondii a single cell parasite supposedly spread by cats tend to show ...long term personality changes...displaying a symptom called Neuroticism... Though the parasite seems relatively harmless ( except to infants)...neuroticism is a psychological trait that co-related well with the level toxoplama gondii infection found in thaty country.. Women who get infected tend to be more intelligent, affectionate, social and more likley to stick to rules.. Men who get infect tend to be less intelligent but more loyal, frugal and mild tempered... Ppl affected tend to have stronger focus on work, ambition and money... And strongly infected society tend to be more likley to avoid risk and embrace strict rules and regulation.... there you have it.... Since they cannot win well this time round and will show a worse result if they don't really totally change...they need a sinister agent to help them! Of course, this could all be a myth... as to what the parasite can do but noting their desperation after defeat...they seem to be willing to try anything!

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered? Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'... but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'? Where's that extra penny going to? Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity? Why does a round pizza come in a square box? What disease did cured ham actually have? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? Why is it that people say they 'slept like a baby' when babies wake up like every two hours? If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing? Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV? Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground? Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway... Why is 'bra' singular and 'panties' plural? Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat? If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him? If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat? Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs! If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner? If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from? If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune? Why did you just try singing the two songs above? Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt? Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window? Why, Why, Why Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead? Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money? Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet? Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'? If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes? Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale? Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try? How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures? When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?' Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? How come you never hear father-in-law jokes? And my FAVORITE........ The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
  15. I have always been very supportive of Singtel bringing in the Iphone 3GS which I pre-ordered with Singtel as well. All these years I have been with Singtel as a loyal customer despite its terrible service as compared to Starhub. On the 9th of July 2010 11:10pm I received an email regarding Singtel's Iphone 4 registration of interest. Being very interested in the Iphone I jumped at this opportunity and immediately registered for the Iphone 4. I then received the email confirming my registration of interest for the Iphone 4. So with great patience I waited and waited. For over 2 weeks i waited patiently. On the 27th of July 11:11pm, 2 days before the official Iphone 4 launch, I received another email from Singtel saying that they would waive my $300 early upgrade fee for the Iphone 4 specifically until the 30th of September 2010. Seeing this, I was reassured that my name was on the Singtel list for the Iphone 4 despite the lack of information from the 9th till the 27th. I did not receive any invite later on for the Iphone 4 launch at Marina Bay Sands on the 29th of July. I knew it must have been for selected customers only and so I kept waiting. During this time period, I had also registered my interest for an Iphone 4 for my wife from Starhub and they contacted me to collect my Iphone 4 on the 16th of August despite the fact that I registered my interest with them much later than Singtel. There was also no need for any "reservation" to get this Iphone 4 from Starhub. Starhub handled my request expertly with every need for speed. I finally got tired of waiting and called Singtel on the 18th of August in the evening. To my horror, Singtel informed me that my name was not on the Iphone "reservation" list and that registration of interest is entirely separate from reservation of the Iphone. So after waiting for over a month, I had nothing to show for it. Singtel did not bother to even send its loyal customer a single sms or email to inform me that I would have to "reserve" an Iphone. This despite Singtel having ready stock immediately after the launch. Singtel did not have to courtesy to update me and left me waiting for a phone. Despite my evident displeasure, I went down to Westmall on the 19th in the evening to reserve the Iphone 4. Unfortunately, 2 days after on the 21st of August, the heavy downpour left me with a malfunctioning Iphone 3GS and I needed an Iphone 4 urgently. I rang up Singtel and spoke to their customer service officer Mas on the 23rd of August 2010 at 6.30pm. She reassured me that she would expedite the request for an Iphone 4 and let me know of the result within 2 days. On the 25th of August evening, having not heard from Mas, I once again called Singtel up and their Customer Service Officer Alena spoke to me promising me that they would give me an answer on whether they would be able to give me an Iphone 4 immediately through a call-back later that night. I waited and waited for that call but it never did materialise. Finally, today 26th August I called Singtel to enquire as to why they did not give me a call-back. At 6:25pm, a customer service officer named Subra took my call and was unable to give me an adequate answer. He brought me round and round. He told me that he would have to get back to me regarding as to whether they would be able to provide me with an Iphone 4.I refused because I knew their call-back would either 1) not materialise as before 2) give me an inconclusive answer. Finally I insisted on speaking to his manager yet he told me his manager was not free and he would arrange for a call-back due to the high-call volume. This is very ridiculous. I was very frustrated and told him I would be willing to hold the line until his manager can answer the phone. Finally after holding for an additional 10 minutes, his manager Phaya answered the phone at 7.00pm and spoke to me. I explained the situation to him calmly yet he was still unable to provide me with a solution. I quote verbatim "Sir, I can only forward your concerns to the marketing department as unverified feedback." I continued to haggle with him and he said "Sir, why do you keep pushing me? There is nothing I can do." He was unable to provide me with a satisfactory answer as to why Singtel did not inform me that I would need to reserve the phone. He continually insisted that I should have called multiple times to check on the status on the Iphone.I asked him then what did I register my interest for? He claimed it is only to gauge the interest level regardless of the line owner. Phaya repeatedly mentioned that it was based on a first come first serve basis and the first few thousand customers to register their interest were notified. So is he saying that within minutes of the email being sent, a few thousand requests were already lodged? So finally I have decided i will write in to Straits Times forum and see what their GM thinks of this. To start with, it is due to Singtel's lapse in judgement that this problem occured to start with.Make no mistake, this is Singtel's fault. Why was Starhub able to provide on multiple accounts? Singtel, please provide me with a satisfactory answer as to why is it that customers were not kept updated between the 9th of July till the launch on the 29th of July. Why is it that Singtel failed to follow up on the requests on interest registration. So we registered for fun? Customers who reserved their Iphones on the 5-9th August have already gotten their Iphones and clients who register early dont? Singtel has to seriously consider reviewing its customer service policy. Is it fair that the customer pays for its failings? Why is it that even when given the opportunity to remedy the situation Singtel chooses to disregard its customers concerns? Has Singtel grown complacent?
  16. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_560829.html see la.. complain so much... now HdeeBee parking at night become $4 TO BETTER manage the demand for parking spaces at Housing Board (HDB) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) carparks, night parking charges will go up from $2 to $4 from Nov 1. But the current half-hour night parking rate remains at 50 cents, said the HDB and URA in a joint statment on Monday. 'Currently, most NPS carparks are heavily used due to higher parking demand. This has resulted in residents with season parking ticket facing difficulties in getting a parking space when they return home at night,' they explained. The parking charge revision will safeguard the interests of season ticket holders and better manage the parking demand at these car parks, added the HDB and URA. The night parking scheme, which provides overnight parking facilities for non-resident motorists and visitors in HDB and URA car parks, was implemented in carparks where there were adequate parking spaces to meet season parking needs. The new $4 night parking coupons will be on sale from Oct 15. Motorists holding the $2 night parking coupons can continue to use them by displaying two $2 coupons.

  21. Got a parking summon while doing delivery to Holland V last month, that day damn suay, company van spoiled, whole day travelling on personal transport to do delivery. Then the retail shop rushing me to send the stuff over by noon. So LL go there around lunch. Reached there just nice at 12pm n saw the parking warden scooter went off, so i juz parked along Lor Liput to unload the stuff n bring into the shop for stock take. All this lasted 5mins, then the parking warden just ride back n park in front of my car. Told him i doing unloading n going off, as usual see it's a personla car off course he would believe n still say that he arady input my number n he will remarks at the system to let the TP know. He took alomst 5mins to slowly key in the car plate n print out the slip. Wah lau kana conned that he input arady. Normally i will drive company's van over , a few times i met those parking warden but upon seeing vans or lorries they will close 1 eyes. But cars they will straight away summon. Then comes to appealing part, the 1st reaction from the officer was , wah lunch time doing delivery?? Muz be suspecting me going there to eat. Straight rejected my appeal without even looking at the DO. Then still tell me muz parked at car park then use trolley. Wah if i do that way dunno when i can finish my work. And still said the meaning of unloading n parking, if i unload n leave the stuff beside the road n drive off , that's unload, i ask him goods stolen how?? Then ask comapny to employ another employee to look after the stock loh, like that more people will have a job, or ask the shop to make 1 man to look after all the goods that r being unload. I faint after hearing this. He still continue to say that it's the shop problem no loading n unloading area.............. sigh give up talking to him. Shall try to meet Ah Wong n see wat he will say.
