  1. I have a neighbour living one floor above me and I'm also on talking terms with me. Recently his daughter married and son-in-law came to stay with them. This is where it all started.... he would open the grills, stick his head out of the windows and blow smoke out of his room. I will have to close my windows everytime he smoke... 1 an hour if he's home. So what can I do and what's my rights? Complain to HDB can or not? Or speak to the father-in-law? Kindly advise
  2. https://mothership.sg/2020/04/old-man-smoke-backwards-singapore/ https://www.facebook.com/712948954/videos/10157914081223955/ “Ever since this Wuhan virus, people are smoking their cigarettes backwards. A bit something wrong liao. Truly a master. Smoking the cigarette backwards, not many in Singapore do that. He must have some special skill. So clever of him. In Singapore, he’s considered to have special skills, to be able to smoke backwards.” Reverse smoking an actual thing If you’ve only ever done it by accident, you might be surprised to learn that reverse smoking in an actual thing in some parts of the world. According to a 1976 article in the Journal of the American Dental Association, it involves holding the lighted end of a cigarette (or cigar) inside the oral cavity: “Air is drawn to the burning zone through the unlighted end of a cigarette, and smoke is expelled back through the cigarette or out through the mouth.” While the smoke is not inhaled, according to the article, the ashes are swallowed. It is also apparently more pleasurable than conventional smoking, and allows the cigarette to last longer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Have you seem someone actually doing this? Will you try it if you are a smoker?
  3. I am thinking of bidding for an auction car. Some of the cars, although quite new, has intensive smell in the interior. I am not sure if it is cigarette smell. Are there anyone providing service to get rid of this smell? I think it is too much to ask for new car smell... :)
  4. Smoke but still be healthy? Smoke-free cigarettes such as e-cigarettes? Aren’t e-cigarettes as harmful too? https://www.msn.com/en-sg/money/topstories/marlboro-maker-wants-to-end-cigarette-production/ar-BBS5ISe?ocid=ob-fb-ensg-425
  5. Bought the above charger from Giant yesterday evening. This morning, plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, on the engine, then proceeded to plug in video cam usb and mobile phone usb (mobile phone not connected at the other end yet). The cigarette socket is still free. Within 5 sec, heard a slight piak and a little smoke emitted from one of the usb. Knn, burnt liao. Cost about $14 down the drain. Thought I found the charger with my desired config (2 USB + one cigarette lighter socket), now I am back to square one. This type of thing dunno can get refund from Giant or not.

  8. Hello. Recently I tried vaping. Does anyone vape here?
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AytvUYy4P_c The next time someone asks you for a cigarette and you don't have one or aren't willing to give one out, make sure you let them down gently. Otherwise they may just set your car on fire. That's what one woman reportedly did at a gas station in Jerusalem. NBC News reports that an Israeli woman asked a man for a cigarette, and when he refused she held a lighter to the fuel filler and ignited the fumes. The entire incident was captured by the gas station's security cameras. In the video, we see the man pulling the pump nozzle out of the car when he realizes it's on fire. The nozzle spews flaming gasoline onto the ground, and the blaze quickly engulfs the rear of the car. Police say the fire was extinguished shortly after by gas station workers, and that the woman was arrested, though she denied setting the car on fire intentionally. The most important lesson to be learned from this video is to never spark up while filling up your car, but if there's another takeaway, it's to be kind to everyone you meet. We're not implying that the man in this video was rude in any way, but you just never know if you're dealing with a rational person or a complete psychopath. 10. A cigarette butt landed on my roof top (likely thrown by someone on the second or third floor) and it left a yellowish burnt mark about a 10 cent coin in size. Would someone be kind enough to let me know how to remove this burnt mark?
  11. My car cigarette lighter socket is not working. There is no electricity when i plug in my electronics. What could have caused this? Is it due to the fuse and if yes, how much will it caused to change the fuse. Also, any other possible reasons as to why the car cigarette lighter socket is not working?
  12. i realised that my ciggy slot is not working. I used it to charge my car cam recorder through usb charger. recently it's not charging at all. I tried couple of brand new usb chargers, also not working. I also tried my unused Garmin GPS ciggy charger, also not working. Any one can advise on what might be the problem? fuse blow? wire loose inside? Will a dying car battery caused this too? My car batt is about 2.5 years old.
  13. Two suspected peddlers leaving a store selling contraband cigarettes in Geylang. Both have since been arrested. It is not just police and Customs officers who are on the lookout for cigarette smugglers. Tobacco companies here have also been hiring more private investigators to help tackle a problem which eats into their business. "It is in our interest as a company to understand how cigarettes are being smuggled into and distributed in Singapore," said Mr Ann Hee Kyet, corporate affairs manager of the biggest tobacco company here, Philip Morris Singapore, which distributes brands such as Marlboro and Next. Representatives of the other two major tobacco companies - JT International Tobacco Services and British American Tobacco - made the same point to The Sunday Times. That is where private investigators like John (not his real name), who has been working for tobacco companies over the last decade, come in. Last September, he got a tip-off that a smuggling ring was using a taxi to transport contraband cigarettes here. 14. I only know its 12v DC output. Any idea on the Amp rating? Looking to use it to charge a battery pack which requires 12v @ 2A. The battery pack came with adaptor from socket thus needed to convert the charger. Spec as below Input: DC 9-12V 2A Solar Charger:10V 220-230mA Output: DC 9V/12V/16V 2A USB 5V/2A
  15. one morning last week when I went to my car there's a cigarette butt on top of the boot. A closer look I found the car paint was burnt brownish already. My car was deep grey in color so it is not obvious unless looked carefully. But for a light color painted car it'll definitely be very noticeable. Just want to remind folks not to park too closely to HDB windows if possible. especially rear of the building where anythin could be thrown out of the kitchen/toilet window.
  16. Hi guys, need some help here. My uncle commented that his friends are all raving about this device, when plugged into the cigarette lighter, makes the car smoother/more powerful and saves fuel too. sells about $200++ I'm guessing it's some kind of voltage stabilizer but I thought that usually goes next to the car battery in the engine compartment.... anybody has any clue? thanx in advance
  17. Hi Guys, I have a question on the usage of the cigarette socket splitter. First off, a bad experience: I once bought a 3 Normal Split socket type like the one shown below, plugged phone chargers into it and it worked but when I plugged in a heavy duty vacume cleaner, it totally burn out. Think its the voltage thing. I am a noob at such stuff. So had to buy another one. This time round I purchased another which is slightly different, comes with a Cigarette socket and 3 Normal sockets similar to the image below First question: To play safe these days, I would just unplug the spliter sockets and use the original car cigarette socket when I use my vacume cleaner, its once in a while so no big deal. But I wonder if I am just too paranoid. And given that my new splitter actuall is a 1 cigarette + 3 normal socket, I was wondering if I could plug the vacume into the 1 cigarette socket without burning it out again. Does such spliter actually split the voltage even when other sockets are not in use? Second question: Given the new one I have which is 1 Cigarette + 3 normal socket, can I plug the Griffin Power Jolt Dual for Ipad (click for details) into the Cigarette socket while having my phone charger in the normal sockets all at the same time? I thrown away the packaging of the new spliter so I have no idea how many volts is each socket getting. Please let me know if you are using a similar product in a similar manner. Would appreciate the experiences shared. Thanks
  18. hi all, my cigarette lighter got no power out of the sudden. Change the fuse at the fusebox but still no power.. Anyone knows what is wrong?
  19. Where do I buy a car cigarette lighter socket in Singapore? I bought a Honda City but I only notice it did not come with a cigaretter lighter socket after I try to light up a cig . ( I thought this item is part of the standard item in a car)
  20. Has anyone here got workshop to relocate the cigarette lighter position to somewhere near the top of the front windscreen? It seems the logical thing to do to remove unsightly cables to the GPS, video camera etc. Let me know of any lobang that does this. Thanks
  21. Need to vent!!! You want to smoke? - OK You want to smoke in your car and stink everything up - OK BUT!!! Idiots who dangle ciggie out of the window then throw it out!!, please, STOP doing that, or FFS just stop smoking. One such mofo did that and I was driving with the window down, ashes came into my face and into my eyes, luckily was able to close that "one" eye that kena, drove to side of road, wash down the eye with mineral water. I curse your mother, father, grand father/mother and all your ancestors to haunt you in your dreams. Hopefully the next person you hit won't be your teenage son riding his new motorcycle and dying just seconds behind you! Imagine if your ciggie actually hits a motorcyclist and he falls, gets run over by another car.... dammit you're not even supposed to be smoking in the car. So for all the smokers who do that, PLEASE STOP LITTERING THE ROADS and causing a potential hazard.
  22. Is there anyone using such a device? What are the cons of using it, if any? I am thinking of getting one as both my GPS and soon-to-be in-car video recorder get charged through the cigarette lighter socket. Thanks in advance.

  24. Hi Bros, Realised that my ride's (Octavia A5)Cigarette lighter socket's current will not be cut-off after I cut the engine (unlike my prev Honda). Was wondering if it will be on continously or will be cut off automatically after x minutes.. If its on permanently, anyway to make it cutoff cos I'm worried if I forgot to unplug my devices.. it may drain the car batt. Off-topic: Anyone interested in Garmin Nuvi 310.. check out my classified ad http://www.mycarforum.com/classifieds/classifieds.pl?id=7707
