  1. Could this be another case of street racing spotted on our roads during the Circuit Breaker period? Spotted on Reckless Driver SG's facebook page, a video has been posted showing the camera car driving slowly on the middle land before a small group of cars went past it at a higher speed. Yes. this is milder than the incident on the KPE that had the drivers in the video arrested, with only three cars shown in the short 40-plus-second clip. In fact, we reckon the 'tiong chias' were doing approximately 120-140km/h while the camera car was doing 70-80km/h. The cars, likely a Ford Focus, a Honda FD Civic and a Honda Integra were caught on camera at around 11:20pm on the 25th of May heading towards AYE Jurong inside the CTE tunnel. 1.mp4 On another note, we were surprised to find most of the comments attacking the video owner, saying that the camera car was road-hogging. Do you agree? Let us know!

  3. Hi guys, just wanted to find out if is it normal for a 9 year old car to have minor engine oil leaks ? I found out that by doing some test : ie putting some newspaper underneath the engine. Every morning saw a slight dip on the paper...And I have sent this to the workshop - the above issue was repaired (with replacing some oil gasket and stuff) when the oil leak was bigger portion. But this issue came back with minor oil dip now.. Also, after parking car , i always can smell the fuels odour smell coming from fuels tank and underneath (not exos since exos smell is different). Sent to workshop , there was some leak from the fuels reservoir tank , the technician apply some residue to 'wash away' the fuels and the workshop manager request to apply gum on the leak area since it is old car. No point replacing . The good thing is the salesperson is a responsible person and absorb about 80% of the repair payment . But the fuels odour came back again. Darn it..how.. My previous Mitsubishi dun have such issue except throttle valve which cost me close to S$1K.

The Honda Type R Family Tree (Part 2)

In the first installment of this article, I focused on the NSX and Accord Type R models. In this part, I will discuss about the other two Honda models that were given the Type R treatment; the Honda Integra and the Honda Civic. Lets start off with the Integra first. In the mid 1990s, Honda released the DC2 Integra Type R. The JDM model had rectangular headlights and the worldwide model came with circular headlights. The car was fitted with the legendary 1.8-litre B18C engine which was capable of delivering almost 200bhp and this enabled the car to complete the century sprint in 6.7 seconds. The next and last Integra Type R was the DC5 model. Released in 2001, the car was exclusively sold in the Japanese and several other right hand drive markets. It received the K20A engine which was also fitted in the FD2R Civic and the CL7 Accord Type R. Although the car was slightly heavier than the DC2, it is faster due to the extra horsepower and torque. Some car enthusiasts consider the DC5 Integra Type R to be the best among the Type R cars. Let's move on to the Civic models. The first Civic model to receive the Type R name was the EK9 Civic. The car was proceeded by two previous unofficial Type R models which is the EF and EG SiR. The EF and EG SiR were fitted with the infamous B16A engine and it was considered practical for the EK9 Type R to receive an engine from the same family. The EK9 Type R was fitted with the 1.6-litre B16B which boasted one of the highest power output per litre of all time for an NA engine at 185bhp. The EK9 had a seam welded monocoque chassis which improved the car's chassis rigidity. Like other Type R models, the car was fitted with goodies such as Recaro seats, sports pedals and a Momo steering wheel. The next Civic Type R generation was the EP3 Civic Type R. the car was built in the United Kingdom, regardless of where it was sold. The JDM model was shipped to Japan and it received some final touches and parts. One of the parts the JDM model got was the helical limited slip differential which was missing from the European model. The car received either the K20A engine (JDM model) or the K20A2 (European model). The JDM model was slightly more powerful in terms of horsepower and obviously it was faster in the century sprint. The JDM model also received a more track-orientated chassis and the championship white body colour was exclusive for JDM models only. The next Civic Type R came in two variants; the European market FN2R and the JDM FD2R. The FN2 Civic Type R came in a three door hatchback body style and it used a different chassis from the EP3. The engine fitted was basically the same one from the previous generation. It made around 200bhp and 193Nm of torque. The double wishbone rear suspension from the previous generation was replaced with a torsion beam axle for the FN2R. Although the FN2 Civic Type R was made exclusively for the European market, the model was also available in many right hand drive countries including Japan. The Japanese market FD2R came in a four door sedan body style and it was more powerful than the Euro model as it was fitted with the K20A engine. It made around 220bhp with a torque of 215Nm. The engine is mated to a close ration six speed gearbox and a limited slip differential was fitted on the car as a standard. The FD2R received a more sophisticated independent rear suspension compared to the FD2R's torsion beam axle. The FD2R was seen as a more popular choice than the European model as the body was more rigid, had better steering feedback and a more balance chassis. The Honda Type R family tree is set to grow even more as the company has mentioned that the next generation Civic Type R will be released in the year 2015. It may be a different machine as it will be turbocharged but at least the Type R name will not end up as a piece of automotive history.
  8. Honda is seemingly playing catch up in the sports car department. Awhile ago it launched the Honda CRZ hybrid, a little coupe which I am warming up to and more recently, it has previewed the upcoming Honda/Acura NSX which will play a part in the latest Marvel Comic movie, The Avengers. Better late than never as the last real sporty car in its line-up was the Honda Civic Type-R hatchback. Although it was sporty, it was still based on a hatchback and not something that looked its part. So now we now have the entry level and the supercar level covered but I believe there is a large hole in the mid-sized coupe for Honda to plug. Remember the Honda Integra and the Honda Prelude? Just about two years ago Honda was like the other Japanese car manufacturers, without a proper sports car in its lineup until the CRZ appeared. Now with the upcoming NSX, things are getting better (I am not counting the slightly dull USDM Honda Accord coupe in this case). But remember the the good ol' days when Honda had a while slew of sports cars in its line-up? In the early 1990s it had the Honda CRX as an entry level coupe/roundabout, the Honda Integra as a small sized, Civic based coupe, the Honda Prelude as its mid-sized coupe and then rounded it off with the Honda NSX supercar. Honda also had the Honda Legend coupe for those that wanted luxury over handling. It basically had all the bases covered. I actually miss the Honda Integra and the Honda Prelude. The Integra was based on the Civic but its last iteration, the DC5 Integra Type-R was an incredible track oriented front wheel drive car. It had an engine and a tail so responsive that to me it seemed like they were meant for each other. Some called it slightly twitchy at high speeds, but it was a coupe that actually loved to rev and loved to go round bends. Of course, the Honda Integra has only been out of production for about six years. So I do not miss it too much as there are still a few going around in these parts of the world. However the Honda Prelude was actually Honda's front wheel drive tour de force. This was even though the final, 5th generation Prelude (pictured above) was clothed in one of the most dullest looking bodies that Honda ever made for a coupe. It was like Nissan's rejected design for its Skyline or Sylvia models. But when you drove a Prelude you'd then realise that it was actually a heck of a car. The four wheel steering (mechanical in the 2nd and 3rd generation Preludes and electrical for the 4th and final generation models) actually made the car feel like it was driven by its rear wheels and when pushed hard cornered like no other front wheel drive could have. In the good ol' days of course. Of course these days manufacturers have somehow managed to even tweak a beam axle hatchback to get the car's tail to come into play. But that's besides the point. The point of having a Honda Prelude was to actually try technology on a front wheel drive chassis and see what can be done with it. To me the Prelude was a marvelous car to drive. It wasn't as hard core as the Integra but that was the reason it worked so well on city roads as well as bumpy B-roads. And this is actually why I miss the Prelude from the Honda sporting car line-up. The Prelude, like the Integra was axed from Honda's line-up as it somehow did not confine itself to Honda's marketing strategy at that point of time. Which is why I now feel that I hate marketing people in general. But that should pass. So Honda, if you're reading this, please come up with a replacement for the Prelude. I somewhat miss it (especially the 4th generation pictured below).
  9. SFX3XXXC. (DO NOT POST VEHICLE NUMBER. MOD) Totally very dangerous and selfish driving. Without due care to other road user. Very yaya driver. Even after I stopped beside her to show her my displeasure, she dare not look into my eyes. Perhaps she knew her mistake, but the least into show a sorry face or sign mah. Instead she just look at her steering wheel, while wearing her sunglasses. Yes wearing sunglasses in the morning where there isn't sun yet.no wonder she is blind to my car just beside her. I am a nice man So I just let it be, need to send someone to office. Spoil my morning casual drive.

Chio Bu dies in Integra crash

BF was sending GF home in his sports car and drove into a hole, causing the car to lose control and skid. The car went over the road divider and got hit by a taxi coming in the opposite direction. Apparently the girl was flung out of the car by the impact. At the risk of being flamed, I will say the guy must have been speeding. Such a big hole also never see
  12. In all my 20years plus of driving, i couldn't believe wat happened yesterday. Time was about 610pm, AYE towards Tuas. Being peak hours, traffic was heavy. Vehicles were more or less bumper to bumper but still moving at around 20 to 30kmh, i.e. not a traffic jam. I was in lane 1 and suddenly out of nowhere this black Honda Integra SFV 5768Z drive past me so fast IN BETWEEN lanes 1 and 2, i.e. like a motorcycle!! I dun know how far back he started this and how far ahead he continued this cos after the next 5 or 6 cars i can't see him already. Reading it from here, it may not sound like much but if you were there, keeping in lane making your way patiently through traffic and suddenly this car just speed by you in between 2 rows of vehicles is really shocking. If that idiot is reading this - better wake up ur idea!!

DC5 Integra VTI. The damage, SGD$10,000
  14. Hi guys, just wanna have a opinion on the above subject? If given a choice on either car, which on would u prefer? I'm actually in a dilemma right now for selection of either of this car. First, this is going to be my 2nd car so I don't really care about passengers. Secondly, I'm not intending to get brand new as I know that new car owners suffer big time on depreciation. I like both car, but can't possibly go for both....Coupe is nice, and especially the sporty feel. Civic is also good as well with higher BHP i think as well...I like to hear from the forum, the more the merrier for my evaluation. For some who have known me, I used to drive an EK4.....
  15. where can I find Type R High Spoiler for Integra? Best if they've online website. Thanks

    Fast and furious Red H-Integra..

Today at around 9am at Simei Ave leading to Tampines Ave 2.. I was turning from Changi south lane to simei avenue and see the road so clear ahead and on my right side junction seems that the traffic was turning green still have ample time for me keep in the lane ahead of the traffic.. As I was turning in with signal on.. seen this red integra SCY 157.. on my side mirror closing in so fast followed by white swift sport tailing..trying to swerved back but he was so close to my side and cut in front of me..saw him cuts everbody's path in front dont know why whether he late for work maybe..or need to go the toilet urgently.. Met him again at the SAFRA traffic light with hands out and lighted cig. on his finger staring at me continuosly(sorry to disturb u on your test run)..he turn in to the industrial park and I went straight to 800+ Tampines housing estates(was behind Avante MCF 827..event not related just coincidence).. To this Integra driver if u want to race or test pick up this stretch of road is not for u as I have seen numerous accidents and even death before they change the traffic light timing there..I know Changi General Hospital is nearby..Is not Karma just fed up as u stared at me..

  18. OK here was I travelling past Dairy Farm along Bt Timah Rd just before the dread ERP gantry. This Integra, white, CF black hood was huffing and puffing away on my left. I was talking to my wife over some matters. In front of me was this MB. Then out of no reason I heard this light "thump" and the car lost control abruptly! DOWNSHIFT! STEADY THE STEERING WHEEL! and then I blasted my horn loud and long. The MB sped away as fast as he can. I can see from the mirrors was the Integra. I was waving my hand wildly. The young, may I say young man again waved back "sorry". Yes, my whole family is in the car. He as on my left and I can hear the car grunting and huffing and puffing. My wife asked if he was blur in driving. BLUR? I replied? More like youthful hormones in action. I didn't even bother to stop the car. I knew the damage was light. But I got down his number just in case. Now got to report to insurer even though I'm not pursuing anything. Reached my destination and found scratches on the left corner of my bumper. Now I know how being PIT feels like.
  19. Was in the car coming home from car ride in town. My dad was driving and about to exit CTE Amk Ave 1 Suddenly this Black fierce E class zoomed past me. Quite modded and fast. Then 2 Secs later this Honda Integra was following behind super closely. First thought was that they were racing. cause E Class was very fierce. Suddenly, don't know for what reason the Integra just swerved left and i think wanted to overtake the E class. E class was already doing close to 100km/h i guess. Integra LITERALLY swerved to the left, and I think he swerved too much. He ended up doing up a S shaped drift and i heard EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE tyre burn. OMG. Following the S shape drift was a 360 deg turn and then..... BUANG the side barrier. whole car direction changed and was facing us. All these happened in 5 split seconds. My father just jammed on the brakes as we were the 2nd car. In front of us was this Sonata Taxi ( since taxi's can jam brake smoothly, we came to a stop kinda smoothly too. LOL) Then drove past the integra slowly. The guy was shaken. E class just stopped 50m further front and came down with the SUPER DUPER ANGRY face. Omg i guess road rage gonna happen. My dad just drove off and then came the yakkings from him about road safety and the obvious need NOT to tailgate and get angry. Just relating a accident that really stirred me. Now i know the dangers and consequences of speeding. Bros, Speeed thrills but KILLS. (: Cheers! ( goes off to sleep with the image of integra doing 360 deg turn and eeeeeeeeeeking the tyres) Anyone saw this?
  20. Dear MCFers , I understand Honda launched Integra Type R first follow by GSR. Are honda testing our intelligence by naming it Type S ? Or is Honda launching this variant back then for a totally different market ? Just to clarify, I am referring to DC5R or DC5S, the last model of the the Integra series. Please share your views !
  21. Yesterday around 3pm+ on ECP towards airport. Red Integra wants to overtake slower car in front so decided to signal left, keep left without checking his left mirror, almost band onto oncoming BMW 5 series

    Honda Integra ... 80k?

Hi folks, Worth it to get this at 80k? (excluding COE) What should be a good price? Ed
  23. Engine stalled on me while reversing and I rammed my Integra's butt into the wall. As a result, paint chipped off and alignment was shifted. Any good place to repair this? Would I need a NEW bumper? (I seriously hope not) Dun wanna go to Kah Motor to repair as I know it will cost a bomb. Any good outside shops that have my paint? Pearl White I think...
