  1. Nowadays, more and more new car model have replaced the hand brake with the foot pedal brake. Any one knows what is the main reason for the change? Maybe cost savings perhaps as I don't see this as an improvement. With the hand brake visible next to us, we sometimes still forget to release it before moving off. Wonder if the hand brake now changed to foot pedal brake, will this kind of mistake be more frequent? Any bro or sis using foot padel brake can share their experience?
  2. Hi all, I bought a second hand Kia Cerato V2 manual transmission about a year ago. Generally very satisfied with the car however whenever the car is stucked in a heavy jam under hot sun, i tend to experience the clutch pedal to be gradually harder and harder to be depressed ( to a point it feels like racing clutch). However after i cleared the jam and travelled for about 15mins the clutch feel will be back to normal. Wondering if any other bros experienced such issues before. My previous kelisa and vios manual transmission did not experience such issues before. Looking forward to kind inputs and suggestions. Cheers.
  3. Hi all, I am looking for this Pedal Exerciser (or similar) locally. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Carex-Pedal-Exerciser/6537516 http://www.amazon.com/Isokinetics-Inc-Brand-Pedal-Exerciser/dp/B000KDWA82/ref=sr_1_sc_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1402308204&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=knee+rehap+pedal Any idea where I can get it in Singapore? Need it urgently as I am flying off on Wednesday and I need to bring it with me. My friend wants it to help with his Mom's knee rehab/exercise. She's in her 70s. I went to a couple of rehab clinics/pharmacies but they don't sell this. Rgds, John
  4. Recently I accelerate my car as usual and it is getting very slow acceleration that I have to step on it more. I even try 4000 to 5000rpm hard acceleration and car only move 70km/h max. If you want to get pass 70km/h, it will be gradual acceleration but this is unreasonably slow. What could be wrong?
  5. Hi guys, my car has a keyless start that requires me to step on the brake pedal before the engine starts. Recently, I noticed that when my car is cold, eg in the morning, the brake pedal is very hard to step. I can barely compress it. Many a times, I need to stomp the brakes a 2nd time to start my car as my 1st attempt is too weak. Anything wrong? Or its something I can just ignore?
  6. Dear Bros, Looking for accessories shop recommendation, specifically looking for scuff plates (door sill) - just the normal type not with LED, and also aluminium foot pedal cover for Mazda 6. Hope to get some advises.

  8. Hi bros I am getting my new car but it seems that i dont like the sensitive touch type of gas pedal, so i thinking to change to normal one, is it possible to change it? What i mean is change from standing gas pedal to hanging one
  9. Hi, Recently, I notice I have this problem. Initially thought the sound is caused by tires in MCP, or from other vehicles... Everytime I started up my car from cold engine and starts to move off, I noticed there is sound : eeee sound when I apply or release brake pedal. But the funny part is that this happens when engine cold(morning) in the first two minutes after moving off...after which no sound liao Does anyone have any similar encounter b4? Any advise...should i bring to TCm for a check?

  11. Hi, I'm driving a Nissan Sunny Manual. Recently i start feeling my clutch, brake and pedal vibrating when i'm driving. The faster i go, the vibrating gets stronger. The vibration feels like the engine is rubbing against the pedals. I suspect could be the engine mounting, but i don't feel must vibratin on my steering wheels yet. What could be the problem ? Thanks.
  12. My clutch pedal will give off a 'squeaky' sound whenever I press it. The sound is more obvious especially if I half clutch and clutch in again, i.e whenever I am stuck in a jam. Since mine is a hydraulic clutch, I checked the fluid level and there is no leak or whatsoever. Besides this problem, the clutch still feels the same and gear engagement is still okie. ANyone had this problem before?
  13. I like to 'play' with the gas pedal and upshift gear although the car has an auto gearbox.... have you tried it??

  15. Hi all, Just to check, I am now in my break in period at about 800km going for my 1000km servicing soon. For the past 2 days, I realized that my brake pedal depresses quite easily down all the way to get enough braking action. Previously it wasn't that easy to press down. In fact, for the first 700km, the brakes have been quite hard all the way. Its only for the past 2 days it became very easy to press down all the way. But today, it when back to the old hardness again. Not sure if this is normal during a break in period. Please advise. Thanks
  16. Taken from Augustman.com Cool idea, it would be great if manual cars can be retrofitted also. do away with heel toe braking :) LINK
  17. Automotive News reports that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration could hit Toyota with another fine on top of the $16.4 million levied last week. As for that most recent fine, turns out that it could have been as much as $13.8 billion, based on Toyota having to pay a fine on each of the 2.3 million cars recalled. A statute, however, limits the amount to the one imposed. NHTSA isunhappy about the timelines it's putting together of events concerning Toyota's pedal defects. The agency is also miffed about the recent revelation that a Japanese Toyota executive sent a letter last October ordering that engineering changes to accelerator pedals not be carried out in America, even though they were being made in other countries. For the time being, though, Toyota hasn't yet confirmed whether it'll will contest the first fine, and it's clear what the possible second fine is meant to address. If all the involved parties would just get everything on the table, we might have a chance of wrapping this up in 2010.
  18. Apr 7, 2010 Nissan recalls 25,000 cars TOKYO - CARMAKER Nissan is to recall more than 25,000 vehicles in Japan due to accelerator pedal defects, the company said on Wednesday. The recall of 25,024 vehicles came on top of the company's worldwide recalls for nearly 540,000 vehicles, most of them in the United States, over brake pedal defects and faulty fuel gauges. The company decided there was a risk that gas pedals in affected cars could return slowly from a depressed position due to oil clogging up the controlling mechanism, Nissan spokesman Mitsuru Yonekawa said. 'All the vehicles subjected to the recall are equipped with the brake override system, which stops the car even when the gas pedal hasn't completely returned,' he added. The latest recall covers five passenger car models - the Cefiro, Bluebird, Sunny, Primera and Tino - manufactured between Aug 1998 and Aug 2002 and only affects the Japanese market, Mr Yonekawa said. The company has received 43 complaints about the defects, including an accident that caused a minor injury in February, the company and the Japanese transport ministry said. -- AFP http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/A...ory_511523.html

  25. i have a problem here.. just now drove to pick eldest bro up from work at Ghim Moh.. i live in Bt Batok.. the distance is around 8km.. here is how it went.. i started the engine cold.. it is in the "C" region.. so i just slowly drove, i noticed that i cannot bring the Tachometer up to 3/4, just slightly more than 1/2 after flooring.. i thought it could be becos of the cold engine.. when i reached ghim moh, around 20mins later.. the engine is in the normal position, which is in the centre for my case.. so i tried to floor it.. again, it is still slightly more than 1/2 of the tacho.. what could be wrong?? anyway, today dad just got the brakes done.. is it becos of the brakes that stop it from going higher up?? i am pretty concerned about this.. becos gear shifting is very much affected.. the gears are too wide apart, so not hitting the right RPM to shift will have difficulties in picking up as dad needs to ferry some stuffs for work at the back.. thank u all for ur help..
