  1. f**king horrible service from Car Lite Singapore Pte Ltd. Made a booking Mitsubishi Lancer Ex from 10/02/2023 - 12/02/2023, reach earlier prior to booking time to my shock car was so badly damaged, bumper falling off and external all scratches. No choice cancelled this booking and was stuck at the carpark for 1.5 hour plus with Evan and his friend just to see if I can book another replacement vehicle. Ended up called there customer service to complain and was told the only available car was either a van or Mazada 3. It was already so late no choice I had to just rebook and make do with this Mazada 3 which was also so cui. Bumper also coming off and so many scratches. Returned the car on 12/02/2023 way earlier to my end trip booking timing, but untill now my intitial deposit of $100 for the vehicle and my wallet balance still isn't refunded to me because they charging us for damages?! But it isn't even caused by me. P.S Just look at their website photos, car all looks so nice but in actual when you borrow the car is totally different.
  2. As title suggests, the way we do our retail shopping is changing. Brick and mortar stores are failing. New malls are sprouting out in neighborhoods and even high profile ones like Jewel or Funan. But go to the established malls and you see the truth behind the retail trend. Footfall in malls are falling and that's because of the shift in the way shoppers' shop. First it was the physical retail store, then e-commerce in the form of websites (blogshops etc), after that Carousell took over and almost everyone I knew sold something online be it brand new or used. Now? The latest trend is Facebook Live Auction. This isn't something which recently started though. Facebook Live Auction has been around for a few years now but only in very recent times did it catch on in Singapore. Prolific sellers like Misshopper Boutique (S Hook Jiejie) whom recently found fame in the unique way she pitched her items to her viewers and also for being 'entertaining'. Subjective. Personally the very first few live auction house I started watching was maybe SG BlackMarket (presumably the first live auction house in SG). They stream every few nights a week for 3 to 4 hours at one time. They hawk electronics items, anime collectibles, action figures (Marvel, DC), Fortune Cat (Maneki Neko), Daruma etc. And the main point is, their items DO NOT COME CHEAP. I kid you not. A $15 item can close off at $50 or even more. They regularly close off their items in the $80 to $150 range, and that's per item. They're not cheap but people bid. Why? I would put it down to their auctioneer Lennon. He's funny and sarcastic and there are viewers who tune in just to watch him and subsequently get hooked on bidding too. After months of watching I never got down to bidding anything though I did try once for a Doraemon plushie. Their videos have since been deleted except for one of Lennon's. Maybe they're no longer in trend? https://www.facebook.com/SGBlackMarketXXX/videos/395633114360593/ So what's trending now? Mainly electronic/household items selling at really "cheap" prices. New auction houses are popping out almost everyday. I bought a few aroma diffuser, humidifier for really bargain prices. $10 Elehot Aroma Diffuser $10 Asakuki Essential Oil Diffuser $15 Aennon Cool Mist Humidifer $17 Riwbox Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Other popular items people regularly bid for: Sound bar especially brands like Taotronics Smart Plugs Mini Projectors Smart Weighing Scale Smart Watch IP Camera Wireless Earbuds Gaming mouse Gaming keyboard Wireless Doorbell Car Jump Starter In Car Camera Some other Auction Houses https://www.facebook.com/Lelong.Auction.Sg/videos/2144115009049043/ https://www.facebook.com/TheLadyboyAuction/videos/324970791741109/ Fresh Seafood Bidding??? https://www.facebook.com/firstmarketonlinebidding/videos/474163999817071/ It's crazy how we do so much research at times to find out about a product we're getting from a retail shop yet willingly part with our money to purchase Auction Houses products from brands we haven't even heard of, no idea the full specs/features of the product, doesn't come with warranty etc. And what's the catch though? A lot of these items are actually returned goods. Some may not come in boxes, some boxes may be damaged, some may be missing a controller inside etc. Hence the cheaper price you may be getting it for. Anyone of you here have bid for anything on Facebook before? What's worth it and what's not?
  3. Fair? Some will say taxi driver job must be stressful. Would you pay fine $1000 or one week jail?
  4. Realised that in SG now, many cars getting overturned even at slow speed, traffic junction areas. Some blame the road surface and traffic design. Others point the finger at the driver or the design of the car. This afternoon, another SUV overturned at the junction of Boundary and Serangoon Central Road again. Come and share your views on this latest trend on our SG road...
  5. Motor Trends's 'The World's Greatest Drag Race' returns for the fifth time. Like the years before, ten of what they thought is the best cars face off in a quarter mile drag race. These cars are also Motor Trend's 2015 Best Drivers's Car. These year's cars that are fighting for the glory are namely the Lexus RC F, Cadillac CTS-V, Cadillac ATS-V, Mercedes-AMG GT S, Mercedes-AMG C63 S, Bentley Continental GT3-R, Volkswagen Golf R, Porsche Cayman GT4, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Mazda MX-5. So who is the fastest? Watch and find out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjLJ6i8iYJc
  6. 100% agree , Mercedes CLA and C Class look so gorgeous , the exterior and interior too , but the floating screen really look horrible , maybe it's just me tho http://jalopnik.com/this-is-the-worst-new-trend-in-car-interior-design-1564314503

  8. For the new year, I think lets start asking drivers about how they feel about illegal parking (Season Parking / Zig Zag lines / continous single white line, did not put enough parking coupons etc). If you think that this is a lame question, take the poll with the answer from your heart (don't need to worry, your nickname will not be reflected in the choices that you have made). In order to see the real picture (also note the possibility of sampling error), please do not approach the poll via a politically correct midset. You will be surprise with the results of this poll. If it is one in a million, it is just a trouble maker. If this is a trend, it is a social problem. Either, the offenders are wrong or the governing authorities have set the gound rules that are wrong and against the will of the general car owners / drivers.
  9. Hi All, I discovered that nowadays, insurance companies will use the number of reported incident you made to price your insurance premium. This is regardless of whether you are at fault or not, or whether any claim is being paid out. As long as you made a report, they will use it to increase your premium. I need to renew my insurance soon, went through an agent to get quote from RSA after declaring that I have an accident 2 years ago. The premium was $9xx. When I decided to renew with them, they pointed out I have made another report last year. Despite telling them that last year incident was not my fault because I was hit by another car from the rear while my car is stopped, and I didn't made a claim against the other party, RSA still increase my premium to $10xx. DA also practise the same method in pricing premium. So the lesson learnt is that if you do not intend to make a claim, do not report the accident even though your inurance company ask you to. You only penalize yourself.
  10. ht tp://www.gizmag.com/citroen-tubik-concept-high-tech-executive-shuttle-bus/19714/ Yet another interesting mobility idea to be seen for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show is Citroen's Tubik concept - a high-tech, high-comfort, connected executive shuttle. The idea came from Citroen's Multicity project, an online route-finder portal that provides a door-to-destination transport solution using all available modes - car, train, bus, plane etc. In looking at the big picture, Citroen realised that something was missing - a vehicle was needed that was more than a taxi and more flexible than a limousine. The Citroen Tubik is that solution. It has been fashioned using the latest technologies to be uber-comfortable with a flexible interior adaptable to carry a group of people or a single person and luggage. To make Tubik look even more protective, Citroen designers combined two contrasting colours: the metal grey of the body shell envelops the pearlescent white at either end, marking the position of the combustion engine (at the front) and electric motor (at the rear) used by the full-hybrid diesel drive train. With this simple but attractive exterior, the large two-way panoramic window and two large doors giving access to the driving position and living area are barely visible. The driver's door is rear-opening while the side door runs in a circle to free up the entire side of the vehicle.
  11. ...and it is disturbing! How come there are soooo many immoral threads here now? Take one look and you see discussions on f buddies, immorality, eating outside, just to name a few. What has happened to our social values and the like? Is this a sign of the degradation of morality in our society? I worry for the future if it is so!!! And the same few clowns are spreading their ideas, beliefs and the like.....worse than terrorist indoctrination
  12. Do you think the trend is going up over the next few years? And will properties in the central region appreciate more than in the non-central region?

  17. I see more and more motorcyclists riding with 1 hand only! The other hand is often placed on the laps or left dangling on the handle bar. On a few occasions, I even spotted motorcyclists (MY plates) riding with the other arm behind their backs! All these happened on small roads and expressways. Anyone else had similar sightings? I really wonder what they are trying to prove!
  18. 1) Akimoto racing label on drivers side door. 10 years ago, I remembered this sticker was commonly visible in many tiong chias. Just like any trend, it soon died off. Anyone knows where Akimoto comes from?? 2) Sharks gill vent. People actually cut the sides to have that shark's gill vent. Think it originates from BMW. 3) De-spoiler. I believe the trend of taking out the spoiler comes from an episode from initial D where the challenger drives a EVO without spoiler. Explaining the advantages of no spoiler in the race or something. 4) Chrome number plates. Dying breed. Less chrome plates on the road, used to be the norm for all "enthusiastic" cars. 5) Euro plates. Also becoming less after news report of TP/ROV catchings. 6) Wrong tuning brand on wrong car makes. (eg. TRD on Honda car) As people are more motoring-aware and with internet access, there are less mis-match on the roads unlike many years ago.
  19. Read the Cars&Stars and Nissan posting in this forum. Seems like customers can state the COE price when buying cars now from these two company. I vagely remember Hyundai also had this scheme few years back. The nissan deal is especially interesting as it will Refund the deposit should the COE bidding be unsuccessful. This will have the effect to drive down the COE price for sure. If Toyota can implement this system, then it might just cause COE to falls, as BM is the bigger player.

  21. I have been wondering if the car refinancing is still going on. Presently, my loan is at 2.5% under UOB. Anyone has refinanced their loan to a lower interest so far? Please share, so that the car forumers can benefit from it.
  22. What Do you really do to while away time during severe traffic jams? I read my papers or smoke a cig. Today at the infamous Macpherson Jam, got this lady (quite chio) in a white Aveo was digging her nose furiously. That spark me off to re-Start this topic. What do you guys do? http://kcarclubsg1975.spaces.live.com/
