  1. Hi, know of any shop or person doing very simple dink / dimple removal? Probably hit by inconsiderate passenger or perhaps a child carelessly opening the rear door of adjacent parked vehicle. Pls share contact details here or via PM. Thanks.
  2. Will the solutions be autopilot? Because humans have errors and lead to traffic build up?
  3. How to be a Money Savvy Teen in SG with these 8 Simple Tips! May 14, 2017 Source : http://accdenteach.blogspot.sg/2017/05/how-to-be-money-savvy-teen-in-sg-with.html Being a teenager in Singapore is no joke. Almost every activity on our beloved little red dot requires money! So many things to do but so little money - What should I do? Fret not! Want to “Yolo” without breaking the bank? Here are our eight great tips on how to manage your money in Singapore! 1 : Start habit of saving spare cash when young We have heard too many stories of fellow teens overspending their allowances – spending on whatever takes their fancy with nary a thought. I suppose you think that it doesn’t matter right? Since Mom or Dad will always 'bail' you out if you're short of cash. Such thinking is wrong and dangerous as your parents will not always be with you in your life to save you from your financial mistakes!. Cultivating a habit of savings is a good virtue and will set you on the right way in life. How to do this? Read on in our next tip. 2 : Establish a steady income We don’t mean to give up your full-time studies now but to find opportunities to gain a steady source of income. It could be helping out at your parent’s food stall. Or helping your siblings in exchange for some allowance from your parents. Or perhaps you could offer your services to help clean your neighbour’s car every week! If you have a bicycle or motorbike why not take up delivery (UberEats, Deliveroo) while you are at it. You can keep yourself fit while earning money! The point is to obtain a source of steady income so that you will rely less on your parents and be more independent. It will also set you well for adult life and help you to discover where your interests are! 3 : Set a budget and start a savings account Now with a steady source of income it is important for you to set a budget each month. Hopefully with this means of steady income you will understand that money does not come easily and has to be earned. And with this virtue you can perhaps resolve to set aside a fixed portion of your income every month. It also pays to set goals while setting a budget. Want to go for a bikepacking trip to Thailand? Start saving for it every month! 4 : Learn to recognize wants and distinguish them from needs. This is one of the most important virtues to learn at a young age. Sure that brand new Samsung S8 might be all so desirable. But a XiaoMi does the same functions for so much less money! Identifying what you need from what you want will help you save so much money! 5 : Make use of your student pass! You might not know this but being a student entities you to some great deals in Singapore. KFC for example offers student meals on weekday afternoons and evenings. Various restaurants such as Jacks Place and Manhattan Fish Market also offer special meals for students! Running low on mobile data? Make use of your student pass and sign up for the youth mobile plans to get free extra data at Starhub! Yes don’t hide away your student pass with the dorky photo. Your student pass is useful in Singapore! 6 : Have fun working together with friends to avoid spending! Peer support is the biggest motivator among teens. Instead of competing to see who can spend more – compete to see who can save more! Anyone can spend but it takes someone with real passion and determination to save real cash in Singapore! Pair up with your friends to get that one for one deal! Want to watch a movie? Go to Johor Bahru! You can watch 2 movies for the price of 1 in Singapore! 7 : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Wise old adage and still so applicable in our time. Don’t feel down getting those hand-me-downs from your older sibling. Rejoice for you can save up on those textbooks for your next big bike packing trip! Have some old junk lying around – don’t just throw them away. Put them up on Carousell! People might be willing to pay to offload your unwanted items off you! 8 : Start retirement savings as early as possible. It is never too early to think about retirement. The truth is that the earlier one starts saving the earlier one can retire. Starting a savings plan from young, even depositing small amounts each month can eventually lead up to a sizable and secure retirement amount well into your future!
  4. I don't start topics very often but just came across this link which I thought I'd share. http://www.openculture.com/2015/12/simple-sabotage-field-manual.html So apparently it's about a declassified CIA/OSS manual from 1944 and it's hilarious at how many of the point can be found existing in our workplaces of today. You can even download the pdf manual from the CIA website: https://www.cia.gov/news-information/featured-story-archive/2012-featured-story-archive/simple-sabotage.html Managers and Supervisors: To lower morale and production, be pleasant to inefficient workers; give them undeserved promotions. Discriminate against efficient workers; complain unjustly about their work.

  9. 10 Year Old's Love Story Little Bruce and Jenny are only 10 years old, but they know they are in love. One day they decide that they want to get married, so Bruce goes to Jenny's father to ask him for her hand. Bruce bravely walks up to him and says, "Mr. Smith, me and Jenny are in love and I want to ask you for her hand in marriage." Thinking that this was just the cutest thing, Mr. Smith replies, "Well Bruce, you are only 10. Where will you two live?" Without even taking a moment to think about it, Bruce replies, "In Jenny's room. It's bigger than mine and we can both fit there nicely." Still thinking this is just adorable, Mr. Smith says with a huge grin, "Okay then how will you live? You're not old enough to get a job. You'll need to support Jenny." Again, Bruce instantly replies, "Our allowance, Jenny makes five bucks a week and I make 10 bucks a week. That's about 60 bucks a month and that should do us just fine." Mr. Smith is impressed Bruce has put so much thought into this. 'Well Bruce, it seems like you have everything figured out. I just have one more question. What will you do if the two of you should have little children of your own?" Bruce just shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well, we've been lucky so far." Mr. Smith no longer thinks the little s--t is adorable.
  10. Very often we dismiss the good things in life for what could be better. Sure, there's always room for improvement. I hope this thread makes us think of the good things in life. For me, it is things simple things like : 1) Having a weekend with no plans or doing nothing 2) Waking up as and when I like, sleeping in on weekends 3) A nice brunch with scrambled eggs included followed by a good cup of hot tea with milk. 4) A good workout 5) Playing with my dog 6) Catching up with friends not thinking about work 7) Having my EPL team getting 3 points. What about yours?

  12. Let's have a positive topic for a change. I like the smell of wet grass after a heavy downpour. It symbolizes to me a fresh new beginning. Rewind back to childhood, it is time to go out and play again. Can go jump into water puddles, can look for earthworms to squish. So many possibilities just waiting to be explored.
  13. Truth No. 1 Partners help each other undress before sex. However, after sex, they always dressed on their own. Moral of the story... In life, no one helps you once you are screwed Truth No. 2 When a lady is pregnant, all her friends will touch her stomach and says "congrats". But none of them, touch the man's penis and says "good job". Moral of the story.... Hard work is never appreciated..

  16. Do You Think Cars Should be Kept Plain and Simple and be more reliability? After reading up so many cases about car recalls because of electronic problems, I feel too much electronics simply make a car overly complicated and sacrifice reliability. Things like E throttle, which I feel is totally redundant. Whats so bad about having a cable to the throttle? Does it make the car less efficient and harder to drive? I only read about people complaining about the throttle lag...... I have also read about BMW's valvetronic problems and problems with the i drive etc. Of course, I do agreed that all these advances in cars and make the car easier to drive, safer and improve FC etc. But the amt of R&D and testing done to cars because its roll out is nowhere near that of other high tech equipment like planes etc. With the stiff competition, manufacturers would be rushing to push out new models and hence even less time for adequate testing.
  17. Sometimes, do you guys think that simple folks are the ones who are the happiest?? Just to share...Last night, I went with my Mom for some CNY goodies shopping at the supermarket. Because the carpark was dammed full, Mom went inside to shop while I waited outside in my car. The place I stationed my car was near Joo Seng Food Centre (I stay at Sennett Estate - Joo seng is across the road). I saw this China couple, with their kid... Hubby and Wife was sharing a plate of Economical Rice, with extra rice, while the kid was happily eating an ice cream... The parents looked so loving (in spite that they had obviously gave up having one plate of dinner each just so that that kid can have his ice cream)... stroking the kid's head lovingly and talking to each other with intense smiles..... After dinner, the father hugged the kid lovingly, and the kid kissed his dad on his cheek and face, while clapping his hands... looked really adorable and heart warming.... Dad walked briskly to the bus stop nearby (I reckon he's late for work...) but before he boarded the bus, he waved his wife goodbye, with a flying kiss... Now... that family doesn't have a car, don't even have the means to have a complete dinner, and hubby probably gotta work overtime at night to make ends meet... BUT... they're genuinely happy... Me... drive a decent car, got a job that pays comfortably for my lifestyle, yet i dun feel the inate happiness these ppl does.... Everyday, work stress and the pressure I give myself to attain certain achievements drives me nuts... So to speak, I certainly feel that simple ppl like the family I saw are the happiest lot around... they don't hanker after wealth, status or success, just content with the pure sincerity and love of family bonding.... Sometimes the more you have, they more you wanna attain.. its an endless chase.... Simple folks are able to detach themselves from materialism and stay happy, living life to its fullest... I used to date an artist girlfriend, who is poor in cash but rich in mind and soul... she tried to make me understand that the enrichment of the mind and soul is indeed what makes ppl truly happy... Perhaps now, I start to understand where she's coming from.....
  18. Found this while clearing my old emails.... try to answer them yourself without looking at other forumers' posted answers. Will post the standard answers later. 1. 20. My alarm system had been giving me some problems lately, eg. - super short range - sometimes unlock, sometimes don't want to unlock. - sometimes alarm activated for no good reason, causing loads of noise for nothing I also had a URES (universal remote engine start) that was designed locally by a friend. This little electronic gadget attaches itself to any alarm system to allow for the remote control to be also used to start the car from a distance away. So when my alarm system finally went hay-wire, I looked around for a few shops to quote me on a simple alarm system change, ie. - able to lock/unlock the car - able to sound off as an alarm - no need for fancy shock sensors, gps, two way, blah blah blah features Most of the shops quoted me around $180 for that . This guy managed to get a set for much lower. On top of that, he re-connected my old URES to the alarm system and now I can start my car from a distance too. The URES is pretty neat too, allowing me to set the following things into it:- - engine crank time - electrical system delay after engine start, eg. switch on air-con after "x" amount of time after engine start - pit-stop function up to 20min (let's me remove the key from the car, leaving the engine running and lock the car, good when I may have passenger in the car who wants some safety while I go pay for something nearby or grab a newspaper from a shop) - turbo-timer function And to think that my URES was one of the first generation pieces that he designed too. It was previously fitted in my old Vios, but I didn't have time to do it up in my Silvia until last weekend when he changed my alarm system too. And it's very easy to self-set the various functions too, all with the use of the key turns and brake pedal only. Now my basic alarm system can do the following:- - Lock/Unlock (arm/disarm) - decent long range now - Finder mode - Autolock doors only after stepping on brakes 2nd time while driving - Side indicators blink when any door is open, even when car is off - URES : Remote Engine Start / Stop (consistent crank time) - URES : Pit-Stop (set at 15min) - URES : Delayed electronics on (set at 5 sec) Universal Remote Engine Starter (ENHANCED Version) [inline URES.JPG]

  23. The financial crisis explained in simple terms............................. Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Berlin. In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers - most of whom are unemployed alcoholics - to drink now but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans). Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Taking advantage of her customers' freedom from immediate payment constraints, Heidi increases her prices for wine and beer, the most-consumed beverages. Her sales volume increases massively. A young and dynamic customer service consultant at the local bank recognizes these customer debts as valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for undue concern because he has the promissory notes of Heidi's customers as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert bankers transform these customer assets into DRINKBONDS, ALKBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then sold and traded on markets worldwide. No one really understands what these abbreviations mean and how the securities are guaranteed. Nevertheless, as their prices continuously climb, the securities become top-selling items. One day, although the prices are still climbing, a risk manager of the bank, ( subsequently fired due his negativity), decided that the time has come to start demanding payment from Heidi for the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. Unfortunately Heidi's customers cannot pay back any of their debts to Heidi. Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations to the bank and claims bankruptcy. DRINKBOND and ALKBOND drop in price by 95 %. PUKEBOND performs better, stabilizing in price after dropping by only 80%. The suppliers of Heidi's bar, having granted her generous payment terms and also having invested in the securities are faced with a new and desperate situation. Her wine supplier claims bankruptcy and her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor. The bank is saved by the Government following dramatic round-the-clock consultations by leaders from the governing political parties. They came up with a miraculous rescue plan that saved the bank. The funds required for this massive rescue are obtained by levying a new tax on all the non-drinkers. Finally a simple explanation........................
