  1. I just joined the community and I was testing everything to see if it has any difference from other forums, but I couldn't create a new thread. Do I have to make a specific number of topic answers in order to create my own threads? Thank you so much
  2. "Platform helps accident victims find witness' footage" @ https://www.findwitness.com.sg/ but then there are already FB groups that pay for accident vids (based on viewership)... disclaimer: i not advertising for them, just think it might be helpful if need to solicit accident vids...
  3. Stupidity has no cure. Performing dangerous act and getting charge in court just for a min of "frame" in the virtual world, worth it meh? https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/19-year-old-to-be-charged-with-criminal-trespass-into-singapore-zoo-enclosure SINGAPORE - The police will be charging a 19-year-old with criminal trespass into a rhino enclosure at the Singapore Zoo. In a statement on Sunday (July 11), the police said they were informed by the zoo that he allegedly trespassed into an enclosure and performed a backflip stunt on Dec 17 last year at about 5.40pm. Preliminary investigations revealed that his 18-year-old female companion purportedly filmed him doing the stunt before he posted the video on his TikTok account. On July 8, the police issued her a stern warning for abetting criminal trespass, following investigations and consultation with the Attorney-General's Chambers. He will be charged in court on July 12, under Section 447 of the Penal Code. Criminal trespass offences carry an imprisonment term of up to three months, a fine of up to $1,500, or both.

  6. Don't worry, we are not making it compulsory for all to adopt a dog, or crowdfund to build a bridge, but just something very simple, and doable by most, if not all MCFers. Of late, it have came to our attention that makan thread has been showcasing non-edible stuff, hobby thread slowly transforming into an advertising platform, piak piak and vulgarities becoming a norm in almost every other thread, and even cat fight going on in a thread created for pet lovers. You know what (and who) I am referring to... I would like to remind you that MCF is an open forum for members from all walk of life to share their knowledge / experience, raise meaningful queries, and be engaged in healthy discussions. Rules are to be followed, so that every members can have an enjoyable time with MCF. Thus, I urge all of you to revisit the thread below, which was created by the admin some 10 years ago, to understand what are the do's and don'ts in MCF. Let help to make this forum we loved, a better place to be for all new and existing forumers. Thanks in advance for your understanding and look forward to your fullest cooperation. 7. So just a heads up, in case you feel inclined to share everything, better don't. Btw she had to make a public apology never to undertake similar action in the future. Better be safe than sorry fellas. PS: I am not at a liberty to reveal which company did that, or which forum it took place in either.
  8. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/driver-investigated-videos-taken-pm-lees-eldest-son-105034248.html This driver is darn stupid, just drive and mind his own business and nothing would had happened. What for post this video online for people to see, somemore the rider is Lhl son. See la now the driver kanna hot soup. Stupid driver. For sure one must be professional in the work. Like for driving grab/go jek etc. Cannot suka suka intorograte people, cannot suka suka see wa I am fetching a famous person, must take video and then show off to people I fetch so and so. That's not professional. Hope other drivers to realise this. Like for me I just drive, I don't care who the person is, I just drive to ensure rider reach destination safely. Of coz if rider open up conversation, I will then start talking to the rider too, but then I will not ask personal questions, just see what rider talk and go with the flow, that's it.
  9. Of late I have been seeing many DUPLICATE threads of the SAME ISSUE!. This gives the MODs a hard time merging as well as deleting threads. FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY HERE, 1. SEARCH the forum PLEASE befoer posting a thread - many times it becomes a chore when we see duplicate threads and both threads can have good posts. KINDLY do the basic etiquette and SEARCH 2. POSTERS like AHTONG will start the thread with all sorts of title headers, and WE understand. If you see the TS AHTONG and it is similar to your thread, PM the mods and we do the REST! Ahtong, you are but an example...soli hor 3. POST in the right section. this is well, easier for folks searching under the thread sections WE will not hesitate to REMOVE threads unilaterally if THEY ARE DUPLICATES as this thread has already served that notice. No cards or such given, as this is not a crime BUT IF YOU THINK BEING A MOD IS EASY, THINK AGAIN!! THANK YOU AND HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY AND REST OF THE WEEK ps: thread will be locked after today. Gather comments first

  11. Hi MCF brother/sisters, Recently I heard from my friend that he passed by one of N&B snacks outlet (selling soya milk) & saw their job vacancies. Both part-time & full-time positions available. One of the position is a Business Executive position offering S$5,000/mth and above, depending on F&B experience. Even the part-time job also seems quite good pay at $6.50/hr. Wonder if all this is too good to be true? If it is so good, I think many people would have applied already. Just wanna find out if anyone has working experience with N&B and please share how is the working environment & culture??
  12. Zheng hoo lang poh mata liao http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/facebook-user-draws-flak-posting-disparaging-remarks-about-filipinos?page=0%2C0 Facebook user draws flak for posting disparaging remarks about Filipinos Wednesday, October 9, 2013 - 00:00Chai Hung Yin The New Paper SINGAPORE - She described Filipinos as "poor", "smelly from cleaning toilets" and "uneducated". She also mocked Miss Philippines Megan Young, 23, for winning the Miss World 2013 in Bali on Sept 28. Using the name Devina DeDiva, her racial slurs, posted on her Facebook social networking timeline, invoked the ire of netizens and prompted one Singaporean to lodge a police report. Ms Devina had posted: "Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke! I did not know those maids have anything else in them Ha Ha Ha." The post attracted 20 likes and 468 shares within a day. It was not clear when she posted the status update as the latest search for the Facebook account turned up a message that said the page was unavailable. It is likely the page was removed. But outraged netizens were able to capture screenshots of the post and its comments before the account was deleted. Others have tried to establish Ms Devina's identity. She was initially thought to be an Indian national, but was later said to be a Singaporean Indian. She is said to be a student at SIM University and also works as a laboratory analyst. Her LinkedIn networking website account is believed to have also been deleted. The screenshots have been re-posted on other websites with scathing responses to her post. Many defended Filipinos. Someone named Manoj Sharma posted: "Filipino girls r cute, humble and honest as far as I know. I am glad to have great friends from the Philippines." But that invited a reply from Ms Devina, who posted: "They r poor, smelly from cleaning toilets & uneducated." When another netizen hinted that she is ignorant, she replied: "Ignorant? Get ur vocab checked dude majority r maids & 1 won such a title! It's shocking & dumb!" Photo Gallery: Racial slurs against Miss World winner Megan Young Click on thumbnail to view photos. Source: AFP / Reuters / Internet 'Student' When contacted by The New Paper, SIM University confirmed that it has a student going by the name cited by netizens. Its spokesman said: "We are doing our due diligence to establish the facts of the case. If ascertained that our code of conduct for students has been violated, we will take appropriate disciplinary actions." International media has reported that Ms Devina has lost her job following her postings, quoting "a reliable source". The International Business Times, an online publication headquartered in the United States, reported that she was "fired from her position as an assistant teacher of a school being run by Filipino superiors". She is believed to have created another Facebook account and continued her rants there. The police confirmed that a police report was made and they are looking into the matter. A Singaporean, who wanted to be known as Mr Anthony, confirmed that he had made the police report on Thursday at about 1pm. The 27-year-old civil servant told The New Paper: "I'm concerned with the comments made by this person, especially when racial harmony is threatened and I see this being spread online. "Racial harmony is very important and these kind of comments should not be tolerated." He said that he first read about the posts on a forum. He then logged into his Facebook account and saw screenshots of the comments that have been re-posted. He said: "I want to inform the police that there's such a thing and for them to find out, if there's any offence committed."

  18. Just 24 hours after Nico Rosberg was languishing in ninth place on the time sheet, 3.2 seconds off the pace in the first day of testing in Jerez, up popped his Mercedes team-mate Michael Schumacher with the fastest time of the day in Southern Spain. A return to form for the veteran seven time world champion you may think and all the more impressive considering his younger German countryman more than had his measure last season upon Schumacher's return to Formula One. Setting the pace: Michael Schumacher was quickest in Jerez (above) Setting the pace: Michael Schumacher was quickest in Jerez (above) Indeed, Rosberg was forced to start making promises of better things to come from the Merecdes W02 by the time the teams reached Bahrain for the final test prior to the start of the 2011 season in the Middle Eastern country. All the more amazing then that at the ripe old age of 42 that Schumacher should teach the young bucks a thing or two in a car which, at best, is far from the finished article and, at worst, may turn out to be no better than last year's disappointing machine. Well, not quite. Schumacher's time was set on his first hot lap on Pirelli's new super-soft compound - Jenson Button later claimed the fast degrading new rubber is worth in the region of a second a lap. And while Schumacher bristled at the suggestion he was light on fuel, the fact remains he only stayed out for ten laps in that stint - his times getting progressively slower suggesting he had wrung everything out the car and its tyres to pop in a morale boosting time. Title contender: Schumacher is one of five world champions in the field the season Title contender: Schumacher is one of five world champions in the field Schumacher's performance had more to do with the smoke and mirrors that goes on during pre-season testing and while his time might make an exciting headline, you really do have to believe the drivers when they say that all that really counts is how their new car performs in the first Grand Prix of the season. On the subject of keeping ones cards close to ones chest, Button spoke of his need to wait for almost two hours while his McLaren mechanics made some major changes to his car. LAP TIMES ON DAY TWO IN JEREZ 1. Michael Schumacher Mercedes 1m20.352s (112 laps completed) 2. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1m20.413s (116) 3. Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes 1m21.009s (69) 4. Jaime Alguersuari Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1m21.214s (72) 5. Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault 1m21.613s (113) 6. Adrian Sutil Force India-Mercedes 1m21.780s (73) 7. Sergio Perez Sauber-Ferrari 1m21.857s (56) 8. Timo Glock Virgin-Cosworth 1m22.208s (57) 9. Vitaly Petrov Renault 1m22.493s (65) 10. Pastor Maldonado Williams-Cosworth 1m22.591s (38) 11. Jarno Trulli Lotus-Renault 1m23.216s (40) Those major changes were to the exhaust system, with McLaren swapping their conventional layout for the forward facing pipes employed by Renault. The gas emerges from an exhaust at the bottom of the sidepods and is the latest trick being tried to increase all-important downforce. Button also spent the day, his first in the new McLaren MP4-26, getting to grips with the KERS system which stores the energy from braking to deliver a quick burst of power. He also got to play with the moveable rear wing which, along with KERS and Pirelli tyres, is designed to create a more exciting spectacle for the viewer this season. 'I am getting used to KERS because it is new to me, as it is to most drivers,' said Button who did not have the system on the Brawn which carried him to the 2009 driver's championship. 'I tried the rear wing a couple of times, not in anger but just to see if it was working. It is just like pushing the KERS button; the boost you get from it is amazing. It is very efficient. The speed you pick up is amazing. But it is one of those things that you want to take a bit of time over before you actually use it in anger. 'I sat behind a Renault when it was adjusting and I didn't realise how quick it was going to move. It is an amazing bit of kit but it is comedy following someone who is using it because it just looks wrong. It is like something has fallen off!' As for the new tyres. 'It is going to be fun for racing and I think it is what everyone wanted, tyres that are very different to each other,' said Button. 'There are big differences from the hard, through to the medium, through the soft and to the super soft. There are big differences in terms of lap time and also in terms of degradation.' Understandably, Button was less forthcoming about McLaren's radical new exhaust layout. But having finished the day in a respectable third place, without the benefit of setting a time on the super-soft tyres, Button proclaimed himself happy enough with the car's progress even at this early stage. 'We haven't set the world alight but we have collected important data and on Sunday we can have a crack at seeing what the car has in it,' he said. The weekend will provide another pointer as to the coming campaign, but the truth will only out once the cars head out for qualifying in Bahrain four weeks. Until then, lap times like Schumacher's are much like the exhaust gasses the teams are trying to harness, little more than hot air.
