Not looking forward to those ex restaurants but cheaper, more "affordable" places please. So any fellow beef lovers like to share?

  4. Work-life balance is something good-to-have and by all means introduce it island-wide if possible. But in view of the hectic schedules most of us have, it is not easy to achieve in reality even if our employers are open to it. Ultimately one must decide what is more important: to strike a good balance by seeking a less-stressing i.e. less-paying job or be adverse to the whole concept and continue slogging till you get what you want? From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1234058/1/.html S'poreans unable to enjoy work-life balance: survey Posted: 29 October 2012 1112 hrs SINGAPORE: Workers have identified overloading of work and high-pressure deadlines as the main reasons for not being able to achieve work-life balance in Singapore. A recent survey on work-life balance in Singapore found that nearly nine out of 10 workers surveyed worked beyond their official hours. Beyond working hours, 70 per cent chose to complete unfinished work in the office while the remaining 30 per cent chose to bring work home. The survey by recruiter Jobstreet.com also found that only 30 per cent of the respondents claimed that their companies had initiatives in place to promote work-life balance. 45 per cent indicated that their companies pay lip service to work-life balance with policies in place just for show. Respondents suggested corporate tax relief and enforcement of policies as steps that the government can take to encourage more companies to promote work-life balance at the workplace. About 650 workers and 135 employers participated in the survey that was conducted in September. - CNA/xq

  13. By Teh Joo Lin ROMANIA sent Singapore a diplomatic note last Friday asserting that former charge d'affaires Silviu Ionescu continues to enjoy diplomatic immunity for the hit-and-run case of Dec 15. This is puzzling, said Foreign Minister George Yeo, as 'it seems to imply that Romania is now claiming that Dr Ionescu was engaged in official duties at the time of the accident and we do not understand how this can possibly be the case'. On the other hand, Romanian media reports suggest that the Romanian police may be preparing to arrest the suspended diplomat. The police there have told Interpol that they have the competence to prosecute him and they have started criminal proceedings against him.

  15. Only the Japanese can make such wonderful gun porn. Woohoo! MDA might want to restrict the porn but Mindef loves us watching this kind of porn. Enjoy yourselves. I remember very well the orgasm from firing it. Original verion FN MAG from Japanese porn documentary. Soft sexy music included. Swedish version KSP58 with Jimi Hendrix! BTW, seems like the Swedes allow you to drive your personal vehicle to the training ground! Russian RPK74. Any AK47 can become a RPK74 if you got the right parts. This pornstar got versatility written all over it. SVD Dragunov. Took out Ralph Fiennes Brit mercenary in The Hurt Locker. No gun porn is complete with an MG42 firing. Now with sexy music from Rolling Stones. Note this is the real deal and not the MG3. Ammo is a real belt and you don't see links dropping off. The Norwegian army still uses the belt format and not links. So this MG3 is more MG42. This guy from the Bundeswher likes the MG3 so much, he made his own love video to it. The rate of fire from it is so obscene. You don't hear a staccato. You hear a WAAAAAAAAAA...
  16. While buffet allows one to eat many variety of food, many buffets do not have food quality. Even if got quality, also hard to appreciate since everyone is concentrating on looking wats next to eat and how much they can eat. maybe im old. recently had a buffet with my family. man.. quality so so, some more pay so much, and i cant eat much.. im better off spending the same amount at some restaurant but at the same time being able to enjoy the food.
  17. Reads like a promo for Porches... http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/15/study-m...hat-testostero/ Talk about a foregone conclusion. Researchers at Canada's John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal took thirty-nine typical young men (i.e. college guys) and placed them in one of two cars. The first was a Toyota Camry. The second was a Porsche 911 Cabriolet. They then let the men drive up and down on two streets. One was busy and filled with women. The other was deserted. After each little cruise, each man's saliva was measured for levels of testosterone. Results? Interestingly, whether there were ladies present or not, the mens' testosterone didn't increase at all after driving the Camry. Can anyone else hear Toyota's CEO Akio Toyoda groaning? The Porsche? Well, this is interesting. When a young man drives down a skirt-filled street in a Porsche droptop, his testosterone level rises. And when then same young man drives down a totally empty road all by his lonesome in a Porsche convertible his testosterone level... rises. To the same level, in fact, as it did when all the ladies were around. Says lead researcher Gad Saad, "In other words, just put a guy in a Porsche, and his testosterone levels shoot up, whether people watch or not." This biological reaction, according to Saad, is a form of "sexual signaling." A way of signaling to potential mates that the driver of said car is the best breeding stock, the best potential mate. Continues Saad, "It's saying, 'all you pretenders out there - you couldn't be driving this Aston Martin - you couldn't even rent it.'" Insert crack about auto journos borrowing it for a week here. Tip of the tuque to Jarrett!

  19. More Goodyears ahead, I mean their tyres...pun intended. Jan 24, 2007 CORPORATE CUTS Michelin to lay off 20% of S'pore staff FRENCH tyre-maker Michelin is downsizing its operations in Singapore. Between now and December, Michelin is laying off about 30 people at its Asia-Pacific headquarters here. During the same period, an undetermined number will also be 'reassigned'. The redundancy exercise is the first since Michelin Asia-Pacific was set up here in 1997. It affects 20 per cent of its staff strength of 148 here. Spokesman Rebecca Lee said the jobs affected are mainly in business operations such as marketing, sales and logistics. These roles will be carried out in Bangkok and Shanghai - two of Michelin's largest manufacturing and distribution operations in the region. 'Corporate services will remain in Singapore,' she said. The operation here, which occupies three floors of SIA Building in Robinson Road, will also continue to be the group's global materials purchasing hub. The layoffs come despite a strong group performance. Sales in the first half of last year came to 8.023 billion euros (S$16.1 billion), and operating margin before non-recurring items was 8 per cent. Net income for the period was down 28.2 per cent to 276.9 million euros, mainly because of restructuring charges for the closure of a plant in Canada. The firm's share price is hovering around 70 euros, near a 12-month high. Michelin employs 129,000 people worldwide, up from 127,000 five years ago.
