  1. Rolls-Royce Spectre—Luxury’s Oldest Brand Enters the Future Electric powertrains actually suit the Rolls-Royce brand better than internal combustion engines. https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/10/18/rolls-royce-spectre/
  2. TL;DR - A reckless Rolls Royce Cullinan driver puts lives in danger by driving against the traffic flow to skip the long queue. The incident highlights the importance of responsible driving, regardless of the price tag on your car. The sight of a luxurious car is always something to behold, and the Rolls Royce Cullinan is no exception. With a price tag that can reach up to millions of dollars, this SUV is the epitome of opulence and style. However, as the saying goes, "With great power comes great responsibility.". Unfortunately, not everyone seems to understand this, as seen in a recent incident captured on video outside Hwa Chong International School. What happened? In the video, a Rolls Royce Cullinan can be seen driving recklessly, cutting through the long queue of cars by driving against the traffic flow. It was raining heavily then, making the situation even more dangerous. As impressive as the car may be, the driver's behaviour is irresponsible and dangerous. No matter how much one pays for a car, there is no excuse for driving recklessly. The safety of other road users should always be a top priority. It is worth noting that driving or riding against the flow of traffic, as indicated by traffic signs, will get you 6-demerit points with a $200 fine. 3. Let not talk about its price first, but do you find it attractive, or practical? This is a coach built model by RR (not 3rd party) and only 3 unit were built, and all have been taken. Now, don't fall off the chair. Each unit cost US$28mil (~$$37mil), which can get you a decent GCB. And if you factor in all the vehicle taxes payable here, this Boat Tail is going to cost >S$100mil, just to put it on the road!!!
  4. TL;DR – A driver of a Rolls Royce Phantom holds up traffic in Tiong Bahru because he was unwilling to scratch his car on a BMW X5 parked ever so slightly out of its lot. Hi all! Just a quick one today before I leave the office. This one is too juicy not to share. This video has gained 41k views in just 1-hour after uploading it on Facebook. That’s insane. Let’s watch the 57-second video here. Are you an idiot, sir? The video begins with the person recording the video asking the Rolls Royce driver whether he’s an idiot. It really looks like there’s more than enough space tbh. The BMW is parked just ever so slightly off the line. If kena, you pay? To which the driver of the Rolls retorts: A Caucasian lady attempts to diffuse the situation by asking him calmly to move his car closer to see whether he can clear the ‘tight’ space. But he says that he wants the selfish ‘b**tard’ of the X5 to come and move the car instead of him moving. Isn’t he being selfish too? There’s clearly enough space! Online Chatter Lots of commenters think the car isn’t his. I’m leaning towards that too! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

  7. Singapore Airlines grounds two Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner jets due to engine issues SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has removed two SIA 787-10 Dreamliner planes from service after routine inspections revealed issues with the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN engines, the carrier said in a statement on Tuesday (Apr 2). “During recent routine inspections of Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN engines on Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 787-10 fleet, premature blade deterioration was found on some engines," SIA said. "As safety is our top priority, the SIA Group, in consultation with Rolls-Royce, proactively identified other Trent 1000 TEN engines in the Group’s 787 fleet to undergo precautionary inspections." The airline added: "All of these engine inspections on SIA’s 787-10 fleet have now been completed, and a remaining check will be completed on a Scoot 787-9 by Apr 3. "However, as capacity may be lower on replacement aircraft, some customers may be affected and they will be contacted accordingly," said SIA. "We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely apologise to customers whose travel plans are affected, and seek their understanding." SIA said it is working closely with Rolls-Royce, as well as relevant authorities for additional follow-up actions and precautionary measures that may be required going forward. SIA first took delivery of the first of its 49 Boeing 787-10 aircraft in March 2018. The aircraft entered commercial service in April 2018, with SIA saying that it was investing S$458 million to introduce new cabin products for the first 20 aircraft. 9. Just a decade ago, Volvo "shaken" the world with the launch of it flagship SUV, XC90, touted as a premium SUV (after BMW with its X5 & Mercedes with the GL). Since then, the SUV assault continue, with Audi, Lexus, Infiniti, Porsche and such jumping onto the bandwagon, in hope to have a slice of the big pie. Last September, Bentley officially introduce it Bentayga, the world first luxury SUV, with it first customer the Queen of Britain.
  10. Stomper Max P shared this photo of a Rolls Royce that had caught fire at Loyang Avenue this afternoon (April 13). Several other vehicles have caught fire recently, with the latest incident involving a white hatchback car that near Yishun Stadium on April 10. Stomper Max wrote in an email to Stomp: "Rolls Royce on fire at Loyang Avenue exit from PIE. Took this just now at 1.35pm. "We were passing by, not sure if anybody was injured. "At the time when we passed by, the Rhino firefighters just arrived. "Half of the backside of the car was burned and disintegrated already." Is that an old Rolls Royce? How come the rear caught fire first? Fuel leak?
  11. The Spirit of Ecstasy, also called 'Emily', 'Silver Lady' or 'Flying Lady', is the bonnet ornament on Rolls-Royce cars. It is in the form of a woman leaning forward with her arms outstretched behind and above her. Billowing cloth runs from her arms to her back, resembling wings. Here are five things you didn't know about the emblem. 1. The Spirit of Ecstasy on Rolls-Royce's latest model, Wraith, is positioned on a slightly different plane to other models. It is placed further forward on the grille and angled by five degrees. Her eager position draws the eye up and along the bonnet, helping define the development of three harmonious lines - the waftability line, waist line and roof line. 2. As a mark of respect to the emblem and the marque, walking across the front of the car is considered disrespectful. 3. One of the most popular bespoke features in China is a gold plated Spirit of Ecstasy. 4. A particular customer in India had a special request for his Spirit of Ecstasy to be decked in ruby and diamonds. 5. The Spirit of Ecstasy can be set to 'auto' (retracts when you switch off the engine), or manually controlled via a button in the glovebox (Phantom) or from the rotary controller (Ghost and Wraith). And if you hit the Spirit of Ecstasy with some force (e.g. with your hand), it will also retract.
  12. For the first time, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is running a Chauffeur Driving programme across the Asia Pacific region, in countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Macau and Bangkok where there are traditionally a larger proportion of chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce owners. Called the 'White Glove Programme', this unique training is being conducted for new and experienced chauffeurs to help them to better handle their clients' Rolls-Royce cars. This programme is not about performance driving but instead focuses on enlightening drivers to have a thorough understanding of great driving etiquette, standards, best practice, car handling, safety and delivering a truly Rolls-Royce journey. The training will be conducted by UK-based Rolls-Royce expert, Andi McCann, who is highly experienced in working with chauffeurs and professional racing drivers. Chauffeurs also have to care for their passengers during loading and unloading, as well as make sure their needs are well taken care of. Along the way, they must not only drive safely but also at all times ensure the safety and security of their passengers. With Rolls-Royce, Andi is the company's approved VVIP Chauffeur, a Rolls-Royce Chauffeur and etiquette trainer, a Rolls-Royce product expert and trainer and Rolls-Royce Chauffeur for the Board of Directors, CEO and Chairman.
  13. Bespoke automaker Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the opening of its new showroom in the famous city of St. Petersburg in Russia. The new showroom will help serve increasing demand for Phantom and Ghost models and will provide the most discerning clientele in the region, with direct access to the pinnacle super luxury brand. The dealership is located at the Astoria Hotel in one of the European cultural capitals, and will be under the fine care of Tatiana Fitzgerald - who is also the Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Moscow. The unique Rolls-Royce Bespoke personalisation service will also be available from the new showroom, underlining the further growing popularity of this service among owners in Russia. Nearly all Phantom family models and three out of every four Ghosts contain some element of individuality. Wraith, the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, was presented at the grand opening in St. Petersburg, for the first time by the shores of the Baltic Sea. The ultimate Gran Turismo combines super luxury and refinement with power, style and drama. The bold, charismatic lines of Wraith are a brave step forward for Rolls-Royce and the car has received overwhelming feedback since its debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, "St. Petersburg, with its timeless beauty and elegance, forms the ideal backdrop to stage Rolls-Royce motor cars in this outstanding showroom. Our presence here marks an important milestone in the sustained development of Rolls-Royce in Russia." He added, "I am particularly pleased to see that a team with a proven track record in the world of super luxury will take care of the customers in and around St. Petersburg. Tatiana and her team have a wealth of experience and will add great momentum to the sphere of luxury in the Leningrad region." Tatiana Fitzgerald commented, "Rolls-Royce has a very rich history in St. Petersburg and is where the first Rolls-Royce touched Russian ground more than 100 years ago. We are really excited to write the next chapter of the Rolls-Royce story in Russia." Last year, Rolls-Royce celebrated a third consecutive record year as 3,575 cars were delivered to customers across the world, marking the highest annual sales in the 109-year history of the brand - with Russia continuing to be the best selling market in Continental Europe. 19 of the 107 dealerships in the world are located in Europe, including the new St. Petersburg showroom.
  14. Later this month, 40 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts will depart from Vienna, and journey through cities like Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy before returning on 29th June in a bid to faithfully re-enact the 1913 Alpine Trial. With the date drawing closer, final preparations are underway with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' Authorised Dealer in Essex, P&A Wood, playing an essential role in ensuring cars are in perfect condition. Eight of the 40 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts participating in the rally, many over a century old, have been meticulously prepared by the dealership
  15. In May 1913, James Radley set off from Brown's Hotel in London's Mayfair for a famous motoring adventure - the 1913 Alpine Trial. A century later, the same Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost has returned - ready to depart for a re-enactment of the event. Forming the modern day Rolls-Royce Works Team, Radley's car will join a contemporary pioneer, a 2013 Alpine Trial Centenary Collection Rolls-Royce Ghost on a faithful re-enactment of the rally in June this year. But the Works Team will be accompanied by more than 40 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts - many over a century old to traverse over 1,800 miles of Alpine roads. The rally will start in Vienna on 14th June 2013, and will pass through Italy, Croatia and Slovenia before returning to Austria's capital for a special evening hosted by Margraf Pallavicini at his Palais, exactly 100 years to the day since the finale of the original Alpine Trial. Taking in some of Europe's finest and most challenging mountain roads, the rally will meet with a group from the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club at Riva Del Garda, Italy, on Friday 21st June where 100 historic Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts will assemble for the largest gathering of its kind in history. The Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts' exceptional performance in the 1913 Alpine Trial saw it earn the moniker 'The Best Car in the World', cementing the marque's reputation for engineering excellence and impeachable reliability. To celebrate this extraordinary moment in Rolls-Royce and automotive history, the Bespoke department at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England designed and crafted a 21st century homage. Finished in an exterior hue that takes inspiration from the Radley car, the 2013 Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost features exquisitely crafted bespoke touches that elegantly tell the story of the 1913 Trial. The clock displays the stages of the rally and timings while inlays to rear picnic tables and the front fascia express the topography and distances of the Alpine route. A hand-painted coachline referencing the four Rolls-Royce motor cars that took part in the rally and headlining, colour-matched to the hood of Radley's car, completes a beautiful homage.

  17. [extract] Storied tuner and engine builder, Cosworth, is known for its involvement in performance motors and also in the Formula One. Cosworth is best known for its long affiliation with Ford but they have also worked with other automakers such as Subaru. Cosworth was a major player in the Formula One for many years but somehow their involvement in Formula One ended in 2006 when they lost the contract to supply their engines to Formula One racing cars. And now, it seems that the company

  19. Are you a new millionaire, a drug dealer, part of the mafia or someone who turned into an instant VIP thanks to a video you uploaded on youTube? Well it is time to get an armored car then if you value your life. Sure you will have bodyguards and all but they are good till you are outside the car, not in. Obviously this is for people whom are not residing in Singapore, because I mean, seriously.. how threatened do you feel here? Armoured cars are like vast, heavy tanks with wheels that can be driven with anyone who holds a class 3 license. They are certified to stop anything from poisoned gas to IEDs. The idea of armoured cars are simple. It's basically a normal car fitted with lots of Kevlar, titanium , thick glass, run flat tyres and stuff. Having said that do not make your own because there are established luxury automakers whom are more than capable. So lets start shall we? The Audi A8 L Security can hit 100km/h in 7s thanks to its 6.3-litre W12 engine that produces 500bhp and 624Nm of torque. The car can withstand shots from high-powered rifles and blasts from IEDs and hand grenades. The cabin can pump fresh air during the event of a chemical attack and a button has been installed to make it easier to knock out the heavily armored doors. Most armored cars are subtle but this $8 million Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB is unlike most armored cars. It can withstand blasts from grenades and bullets from AK-47s despite being covered in 120kg worth of gold. Want something a little British? How about the Jaguar XJ Sentinel, besides Land Rovers are mainly used by Mafia's anyway, we need class right? It can withstand a blast from up to 14kg of TNT in addition to offering protection from assault rifles and machine guns. Performance wise the 3.2tonne leaping cat is powered by a 385bhp 5.0-litre V8 that hits 100km/h in under 10 seconds. RENNtech decided to tune the Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard to make it easier to escape from danger. The ECU was redone; a carbon fiber airbox was added and the intercooler pump was substantially strengthened. All told the S600 Guard now has 640bhp, up from 517bhp, and 1049Nm of torque. The Maybach 62 Guard is a massive luxury sedan has been beefed up by an additional 408kg worth of steel and Kevlar reinforcements. Despite the heft, the Maybach's twin-turbo V12 can still hit 100km/h in 5.7 seconds before maxing out to an electronically limited top speed of 249km/h. Picture Credit: CarBuzz

  21. These billionaires made it to the Forbes list as some of the richest people in the world, but their choice of rides varies. For example, one house hardware entrepreneur drives a car that would only fetch about $1,500 (S$1,864), while a software mogul could sell his car for $4.4 (S$5.47) million. While some vehicles are considered dream rides others made the list due to the owners. Though the source of this article is new, it is unsure if these billionaires have changed their rides. Carlos Slim Helu is the world's richest man, according to Forbes Bill Gates' Porsche 959 Coupe, one of only 230 in the world Alice Walton, heiress of the Wal-Mart, second-richest woman in the world. 22. If you have enough money to splash, you could pretty much enter any exotic car headquarters and ask for a completely custom car to be built specifically to your liking. Back in 2008, British collector Roland Hall commissioned a custom Rolls Royce, and the company created a one-off Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe dubbed the Hyperion. Rolls Royce got legendary designer Jason Castriota to head the design team and constructed a Rolls Royce solely out of carbon fiber (with the exception of the wooden doors). The car was put up for sale just one year later for roughly $6 million. Since then, the Hyperion disappeared until reappearing for sale at an Abu Dhabi dealership recently. The current asking price is unknown, with an estimated price of at least $7 million. Any takers, for this exclusive piece of beauty?

    MINI, by Rolls-Royce

The BMW Group's two iconic brands, MINI and Rolls-Royce, have come together to produce this rather unique creation, called the MINI Inspired by Goodwood. It combines the cheeky compactness of the MINI, together with the luxuries of Rolls-Royce. Sounds pretty rich. I mean, it seems like pretty much in the same vein as the Aston Martin Cygnet, yet somehow it feels a bit different. Because the MINI has always been a slightly premium hatchback anyway, so to bring it up a level further doesn't make it seem out of place. In contrast, the Cygnet is simply a rebadged Toyota iQ, which, no matter how you dress it up, is still a budget city compact. Just look at the wood trimming and shagpile carpets in this MINI! It feels really lush, don't you think? If I have a spare couple of hundred thousand dollars, I certainly wouldn't mind buying one of these Rolls-Royce MINIs. I'm sure it'll be quite a hoot.
