  3. What did I just see? 🧐😂 Walking the crab, what the f... House Of Seafood Walks Their Crabs In Punggol Park https://mustsharenews.com/crabs-stroll-punggol/ In the last few weeks, you may have seen more people walking their dogs in Singapore, possibly to take a break from staying at home. Just like Singaporeans love their pets by taking them for a walk, a seafood restaurant says they love their crabs as well. Thus, their boss was seen taking them for a stroll in Punggol Park. They do this to ensure their crabs are “really meaty” for their patrons, they said. Is that not a form of animal abuse? What will be next? Lobster, stingray, octopus or even garoupa?
  4. Want free local data? Singtel and AIA partner up for you to walk for it Need more motivation to get healthy? How about scoring up to 3GB of free data just by walking? Singtel has partnered AIA to launch a new wellness platform called StepUp. It’s part of the telco’s My Singtel app and is available to postpaid Combo, XO and SIM-only customers. Customers will earn points based on the number of steps they take daily. The more steps, the more cumulative points will be awarded. The maximum number of points per day is 100 for 10,000 steps. A customer who achieves a daily goal of 10,000 steps a day for a month will get 3,000 points, which is equivalent to 3GB of local data. Someone who gets between 5,000 and 7,000 steps daily for a month will earn 1,800 points, which can be used to redeem 1GB of free data worth 1,000 points. Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO, Consumer Singapore, Singtel said: “We want to encourage healthy lifestyles and wellness, and with StepUp, customers will be rewarded for their efforts to keep fit. We are always trying to find ways to offer customers products, services and perks to complement their digital lifestyles. Our partnership with AIA marks a shared commitment to champion the importance of staying active for life.” The platform will also offer lifestyle rewards from AIA and other partners, on top of wellness, fitness and nutrition content. To start their journey to health (and other rewards), customers only need to log into their My Singtel app, activate StepUp and sync their steps from their smartphones. They can then keep track of how many steps they have taken. To celebrate the launch, customers who clock 10,000 steps a day at least once from now until Aug 31 will stand a chance to win an Apple Watch Series 4 or Samsung Galaxy Watch. In addition, from Aug 1, Singtel customers can also take on the AIA Vitality Challenge on StepUp to claim movie tickets, gourmet coffee and ride-hailing vouchers. They can also look forward to more reward options in the coming months, such as a free Diet & Sports DNA kit by GeneLife and other items from Puma and SingSaver. Singtel’s strategic partnership with AIA is the first of its kind between the two companies. Patrick Teow, CEO of AIA Singapore said: “Through leveraging Singapore’s digital advantage, our common shared value is to make a real difference in people’s lives, particularly when Singaporeans are spending more time on their digital devices such as their mobile phones and living sedentary lives. With StepUp, individuals and families can now take charge of their own health and integrate more active lifestyle habits into their daily lives.”

    Treetop Walk

Giant millipede seen at Treetop Walk. Actually if the weather is nice, there are many great nature places in Singapore that provide good walks within a couple of hours.
  8. Had some free time the other day and I took a drive to Kent Ridge Park. And I found the canopy walk. I remember walking this path before, but it was quite some years ago. This time round, I made a video. A hot sunny morning, however, it was really nice to be walking and stretching the legs.
  9. Just back from Malacca over the weekend, heard from the street vendors there that the government is shutting down Jonker Walk. But the street vendors will still operate there next weekend there despite the shut down notice.

  11. Lazy Shanghai man takes dog for walk -- while driving his BMW Quote:A man was recently spotted taking his dog for a walk at the Shanghai Jiading District, which sounds perfectly normal, until you realise the man was behind the wheel of a white BMW. NDTV reports that the unusual sight was caught on surveillance cameras, and footage shows the white BMW being driven with the trunk wide open and a leash trailing out. A visibly tired German Shepard is attached to one end of the leash, and can be seen panting even though the BMW is not going fast. Impatient drivers following behind the BMW sounded their horn while the driver cruised along. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/si...riving-his-bmw German car stroll with German Dog, this guy very creative but idiot
  12. Hello all, Was doing window-shopping at Suntec City and Millenia Walk. I could not find the shop that sells diecast car models like AutoArt brand. Does anyone know where it has shifted to?
  13. As long as these canines are on leash, it is alright to bring them to parks or beaches right? Have seen local-looking folks unleashing their pedigree dogs big and small along East Coast Parkway beaches so not really fair to paint the foreigners in a bad light here. Then again really a nuisance to encounter the unleashed doggies running around especially when you are jogging or cycling and some breeds like German Shepards seem to a real menace to other park users though I have never heard of one injuring anyone... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...for_a_walk.html Posted on 24 Jun 2012 Foreign family ignores sign at reservoir park and takes big dog for a walk STOMPer Merlion Wayfarer encountered some inconsiderate park users at the Lower Peirce Reservoir. They were noisy, rollerblading and had a big dog in tow. According to the sign at the entrance, dogs are not allowed. Said the STOMPer: "Inconsiderate park users who can't read signs. "I met some inconsiderate park users today at the Lower Peirce Reservoir. "The most noisy was this foreign family with four kids. "Two of them bladed all the way from the park entrance to reservoir, while the other two bawled very loudly that you could hear them from the other side of the boardwalk across the reservoir. "The parents were talking loudly to control the kids. "They even had a huge dog which took up half the boardwalk's width in tow. "The weird thing is that obvious signs were placed at the entrances of the boardwalk at both sides, and they chose to ignore them."

  19. Nokia workers mourn death of Symbian, thousands walk out We know how you feel about the apparent death of Symbian, and you had to figure that those most affected by it wouldn't be feeling too good either. Those people are, of course, the 1,500-odd workers at Nokia's Tampere office who have crafted the OS through the years, over a thousand of whom apparently walked away from their jobs today as a sort of non-violent protest -- or maybe just to get a preview of what their Friday afternoons will look like once Elop starts dropping the axe. It should be noted that they used their flexible work schedules to enable this, so this is one orderly bit of social dissonance that shouldn't result in any accelerations of whatever layoffs are to come. Source: Engadget Finally, it is game over for Symbian and madness that Nokia will be making Windows Phone, should have bought over Palm instead and use their WebOS.
  20. This is so stupid As if it's the restaurant patrons fault that the lifts is OoO and they have to exit via the casino. Incident at Marina Bay Sands raises question about casino levy exemptions By Teo Xuanwei | Posted: 08 June 2010 0013 hrs SINGAPORE : Lawyers said tweaks to the Casino Control Act may be needed to provide for "special circumstances", such as if an emergency breaks out. This follows an incident when 15 diners were forced to walk through the casino because they found that two lifts - their only exits - were out of order. The group refused to pay the $100 casino levy. The incident happened on May 4. The diners had patronised a Chinese restaurant, Imperial Treasure, at Marina Bay Sands (MBS). Responding to MediaCorp, the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) said it is "aware of this incident and is currently looking into the matter". It is unclear how many in the group are Singaporeans and permanent residents. But MediaCorp understands none of them have been prosecuted yet. The incident raises questions about whether the law provides for exemptions from entry levies. One lawyer said the incident may have highlighted a technical breach of the law but the Attorney General's Chambers still has the discretion to decide whether to charge the individuals or penalise Marina Bay Sands. By failing to collect the entry levies, Marina Bay Sands would also have flouted Section 116 of the Act - which makes them liable to disciplinary action. This may come in the form of one or more of the following - cancellation or suspension of a casino license; receiving a letter of censure; the variation of the terms of a casino license; or being fined not more than $1 million. Sunil Sudheesan from law firm KhattarWong said: "Frankly, I do not think that CRA would take any action in this case." He added that tweaks to the existing laws may be needed to provide for "special circumstances", such as fires. - CNA /ls

  24. Hi all, My 9 years old daughter has been asking me to allow her to walk home by herself when her school (morning session) finished at 1:30pm. Currently the school is about a few HDB blocks or almost equal to one bus stop distance away from home. I drive her to school in the morning and the maid bring her back from school in the afternoon. While I thought it is good that she wanted to be more independent but I'm concern about her safety. Although I used to walk to school to and fro from home at the age of 7 and during those days, there were bullies and gangsters around the neighbourhood. What do you think, Yes or No? any other options? She doesn't like taking school bus. Thank you very much. Regards,
