Hi, Just saw a ticket in my car wiper today, ticket for parking at double yellow line issued by cisco police. My fault clearly. Do you know what is the penalty (how much) for this offence? I believe no demerit for this. Anyone know a link where all these are described officially? Thanks.

Since can't find any code online, not even SPF website, perhaps anyone here know this ruling. Though I SHOULD know it, but I guess many drivers is same as me 1. Single yellow zig zag line on road side 2. double yellow zig zag line on road side

I will urge all drivers to be considerate of other road users when approaching yellow box. Don't use yellow box as your waiting area "while traffic light is red in your favor" as others could be waiting for long to exit to find you are blocking their way. I have numerous cases when trying to exit car park but no one want to give way and when comes your turn then entire box is blocked by taxis/cars (Happen very frequent at Marina bay financial center car park exist).

Been quite confused how does the yellow box work. Read this somewhere: "Under the Road Traffic Rules, although part of the vehicle was in the yellow box, it was not causing obstruction to any other vehicle proceeding to or along that road junction and, as such, no offence was committed" and "if there is nothing to impede the flow of traffic one does not have to stop." Does this actually means that it is safe to stop in a yellow box, if there are no cars that I'll be blocking?

Heard over radio this morning where DJ invites listeners to call in to talk about whether we can give offenders a 2nd Chance? After a while, none called and they have to switch to another tropic which immediately attracts callers. Wonder why is this subject so taboo? Why so many offenders after their release went back to commit the same crimes. In my humble opinion, most people would like to turn over a new leaf if given the chance. Of course not everyone knows how to take that opportunity. Why didn't these people succeed in making that change? Is there some fundamental problems? And why aren't 'Yellow Ribbon' effective? If these offenders were to change and contribute to society, tax payers will also benefit. But how could we help them and make it difficult for them to go back to their old ways? Are there more the authorities could do to ensure this? I am sure with more ideas, more could be done. What do you guys think?

I read from the websites that parking offences seem to be under the purview of HDB and URA. So how does the traffic police fit into the picture? Apologies if this question is too stupid... -

Seems like they relocate the exit from clementi ave 6 onto PIE - TUAS And they put a yellow box on the expressway...this new relocation is a complete failure. The new exit is waiting for accident to happen ..the old exit is already badly designed so near to the toh tuck. The new one is even worse and more prone to accident.

During the past few weeks, I have encountered a few times the traffic lights flashing red or yellow. I thought the traffic lights must be faulty and just drove through cautiously when the traffic was clear. This morning the lights were flashing red in my direction and flashing yellow in the other direction, is it an offense to cross? This was at the Selegie-Bk Timah junction - the one with the red light camera to catch left turning and straight red-light beaters. Kena before years ago I am wary of this junction.

Anyone saw this white Jaguar with a back yellow plate, shiny silver lettering? I can't make up The plate number even just behind him because of the reflection from the lettering itself plus the sun was shining from the back... Why would ppl want to use such lettering,?

Possible? Saw this maser running around mbfc without front no. Plate.. i tried to look for the no. Plate by staring at it for a good 2mins at the traffic junction but still dont see it. Edit: its a yellow maserati granturismo instead.

Was on the way just now and saw a car stalled in the middle of a cross junction's yellow box. Location at cross junction near IMM, chevron and international business park. The drive just on his hazard light and started in the car with a girl, mingling with their handphone.... For goodness sake, get off the car and push it to the road side, rather then leaving it in the middle of the cross junction's yellow box and jam up the traffic!!!!!! STUPID!!

i just kena a letter from LTA stating that i committed this offence of parking at unbroken yellow line between 7am-7pm on 10/8 at 12.19pm but the problem is i do not remember driving along clementi road that time coz i actually had to make a trip to bukit merah to collect something from panasonic during my lunch time... furthermore the offence didn't state which location until i called LTA and they tell me it is opposite lamppost #9, and where the hack is that?? i try google map and i try streetdirectory.com and they do not know where lamppost 9 is!! any help to share with me where i can pinpoint where lamppost 9 is along clementi road? this road is very long. why can't they just issue summon on the spot??!! i miss the TP in this instance... on the spot, kena nothing to say.

A few days ago, i reached liang seah st carpark at around 4.15pm. as there is yellow lot, $1=30 mins. if i put $1, it ends at 4.45 pm. so how to tear the last 15 mins before 5pm when u cant use 50c for 15 mins parking?

I know double zig zag and single zig zag rules, but what about double yellow? Just now I was waiting infront of another car at double yellow line. I was in the car but the back car driver is standing outside. I was being told off and I thought the same will happen to the back, after making a round, the back car was still there. Double standard or cannot wait in car?

Do you all find that "most" drivers who choose yellow number plates tend to be egoistically challenged? They want to show off but are just not there yet? Just my observations in people choices and the psychology.

Hi, I need to know the current HQ location of Singapore Taxi Transport Association (STTA), which managed the private yellow top cabs in Spore. Did a google search and went down to the address at 1078 Serangoon Rd... found out tat they no longer in operation there. Cant seems to find their location using google search engine... Anyone here happens to know where are they located??? Many tks in adv... Lastly... ITS FRIDAY!!!!! ENJOY YA WEEKEND.....

Okay, I may sound like a b-stard here. Over the past 2 days I have been making calls to HDB hotline to report on the cars that are parked illegally in the roundabout at my neighbourhood. These repeat offenders have been parking on double yellow lines and loading bay like it's their own private carpark and finally my threshold for my tolerance has hit the limit because it was raining and I almost hit a black car parked on the double yellow line due to the poor visibility and I finally picked up my phone and start calling LTA hotline to report on these vehicles. Being my first time calling, I didn't know these were not under LTA's jurisdiction but HDB, so I was directed to call up on HDB to make my report. However, it was raining yesterday and despite my few phone calls (yes I called them a couple of times with about 2 hours interval) they still did not come and issue summons, so I thought "okay la raining, cut those enforcement some slack" and stopped calling since the rain doesn't seem to stop. Having nothing better to do today, I made the call today and they came after 30mins. I timed them and when the officer came, all he did was go one round and park somewhere, start to issue summons. But out of the 10 over vehicles that were parked long the double yellow line and in the loading bay, I only saw him standing beside a few cars, checking on his machine but at the end I only saw him issuing 2 summons which made my blood boil, so I called them up again to feedback on what I see. True enough, the officer went on to issue summons on all the cars which made me feel better. My question is: there is a myth about them earning commissions through these summons, is this true? if yes, then why is he so slipshod about issuing summons? And also, is there any way for me to feedback to HDB for these enforcement officers to come down more regularly? I have been seeing these vehicles parking on double yellow lines, obstructing the traffic within the roundabout for the past few years and I do admit I am one of them who have received summons a couple of years ago. Ever since then I have stopped doing this and went to park at the carpark unless I genuinely have heavy objects to unload, I'll unload it at the loading bay and let my passengers wait at my void deck with my stuffs while I park my car in the MSCP. A part of me thinks that I am f-cked up, and I will get karma for all these. But another part of me thinks that these bloody vehicle owners should serve themselves right for treating the roundabout as their private carpark just because it's near to their block and they don't have to spend a bloody 5 mins to walk to their vehicle at the MSCP. Want convenience? Be prepared to pay $100 everytime. For the bros who are facing the same problem as me, you can call up HDB at 1800-272-1409 and help these vehicle owners get their punishment. -

Just now, I just cleared the traffic light with red light camera but suddenly the car in front stopped so I was stuck with my car on the edges of the yellow box, thus unable to pass through over the yellow box. I was the last car,I suppose the red light cam will still take a snapshot but though I cleared the red light, can the camera show that I was in the yellow box and I still get fined for that?
