I noticed the washing machine (top loader) was acting unusual just now during the wash cycle, I can heard it spins normally but the clothes and water didn't move in the drum it will drain and spin dry, it just won't wash, although the motor was spinning and sounds normal (got sound but no action) after I hanged the clothes, gathered my tools, wanted to dismantle it and check the drum right before I start work, I saw this wedging between the wash plate and the drum it was so tight till I need to use a pliers to pull it out then I try to run the machine again, this time the washer plate is spinning like normal luckily nothing break but I think the poor belt was slipping like crazy during the last wash because of the jammed wash plate by the coin

Her husband, Stomper Frank Singam, told Stomp the incident happened along a shared pavement just outside the shopping mall and near the polyclinic. The 74-year-old shared that the PMD rider struck his wife Malar Kandasamy from behind, causing her to fall face-first onto the concrete pavement. "She was caught completely off guard, and her chin absorbed the brunt of her fall," he said. Malar was taken to Changi General Hospital, where doctors found that her jaw had fractured in three places. She underwent surgery on Dec 12, during which implants were inserted, and her jaw was wire-locked to aid recovery. Frank said the attending doctor described the injuries as severe. Malar is currently unable to open her mouth fully and can only consume liquids for the next few weeks or months. "She has to work hard to engage in a conversation," he said. "Though the outcome was bad, it could have been much worse. She could have sustained more serious and significant facing injuries, given that she was wearing glasses when she fell face down. She could also have snapped her neck." The accident also forced the couple to cancel a long-planned family trip to the United States, which was meant to continue celebrations for their 50th wedding anniversary. In a video recorded from her hospital bed, Malar recounted how the incident unfolded. "I was looking at the stairs coming down Pasir Ris Mall to make sure that I don't trip and fall," she said. "As I turned, I didn't see the PMD driver coming because he was behind me, and he hit me from the back." She said she was thrown forward by the impact and landed on her chin. "I don't have eyes at the back of my head," she said. "I got thrown, I fell, I hit my chin, and now I'm sitting here with my jaw stitched up." Malar added that the area where the incident happened was busy, with a bus stop and pedestrian crossings nearby. She also shared that the rider later returned to the hospital to apologise and help. She said she did not want him penalised as riding was his livelihood. However, she urged PMD riders to exercise greater caution, especially in crowded areas. "They must use their brains," she said. Frank added that they will not be taking any action against the rider: "We did not lodge a police report as we felt it was not the individual at fault, but rather the system, the infrastructure design and the policies." Malar made an emotional appeal for greater protection for vulnerable pedestrians, particularly seniors and children. "We are old," she said. "When we fall, it takes us one year or more to recover. Once you fall, it's not so easy to come back." In an update shared on Facebook on Dec 16, Frank said his wife's condition has improved. "Her scan yesterday shows that her fractures are settling in well," he wrote. "She is being discharged today and will be treated as an outpatient. The implants will take weeks to come out, and we are hoping for full functionality in three months' time." He thanked friends and relatives for their prayers and well-wishes, but said his concerns about pedestrian safety remain. "The battle with the authorities and against PMD and personal mobility aid (PMA) operators goes on," he wrote. Frank said while they are grateful that help arrived quickly and that the outcome was not worse, he hopes sharing Malar's experience will raise awareness about the dangers of PMDs on shared pavements. "How many other seniors can be as lucky?" he asked.

That's quite normal what. You expect single digit meh. Not possible lah.

His choice of words probably wasn't the wisest, but the essence of what he said was basically correct.

Before the fire, there are a lot of complaints of rig bid. Yet, nothing was done till this fire broke out. We will never find out the truth. Was there any allegations of misconduct before Hotel New World collapse? Clearly your example failed

Definitely not for me there...

It was a trial as BlueSG was one of the first car sharing operators, and also because the tiny BlueCar is not a commercially available model. It was essentially made just for this sort of car sharing programme, meaning likely that the homologation and etc not the same as normal car. So they need to give it special permission to run these cars here, under specific restrictions.

Even most cars are shipped by trailer to the dealership, but the mileage clocked on the car still can find 30-40km when collect your new car.

The distance quite insignificant lah. And now most cars are shipped by trailer to the dealership. Last time when Nissan and Honda unloaded their cars at Sembawang Shipyard, can often see their cars zooming around Woodlands to their PDI area along the old Woodlands Road near Kranji. Those were really menaces.

goes to war in the SG market? sounds futile to me they do not have to "wait" for bz4x to fight the war if they want to clinch the top spot in SG, just sell the Altis at 140K, toyota will be back on top next month. let's wait for the launch like you said.

Bukit Ho Swee fire/ Hotel New World collapse, LKY had to step down? For corruption in HK construction deals, their CPIB and building authorities have to answer for it. Unless it is found they know but covered up. Let's reduce the kiddy comments here. Having one clown here is enough

Choices for a family sized SUV - just sharing my search
therock replied to therock's topic in General Car Discussion
Almost a decade ago, Borneo brought in the Harrier Turbo, a JDM model that killed the PI non turbo Harriers, selling it at the same price or cheaper than the PI cars.. So if what I got from the sales managers comes true, it will be interesting in the ensuing months.. The new RAV4 is going to be priced at close to the outgoing model's clearance price, it's the version with the mesh grilles, FWD, not the PHEV which isn't coming, and cat B. The 2026 BZ4X is even lower but I hope someone works out which model has a lower depre, especially if you take tax and service into account.. Now the Forester strong Hybrid hasn't increased in price at 219, so that makes the Toyota models really interesting, so look out for a battle of the SUVs... -
If world order works this way, be prepared to run road.
