  1. Anybody tried before? I just tried this evening. Yeah. Try for fun, see whether can get or not. How much did I bid for? Check out this video for the experience. Take note, once you bid, the deposit is $10,000. The non-refundable fee is $2. If I get the COE, I will have 6 months to register the car. LTA only collects the rest of the COE when I register the car. Sounds cool to me.
  2. good luck if your item are still in order and good condition
  3. Touchy topic, worth a discussion since most peeps tend to say "my car".
  4. Lemme start the ball rolling U may post without ur face or with depend on u But i will post my pic without my face Because i worry people poke my backside when i walk on the street
  5. Any agency experience out there? Just finished draft for client - and once again find myself overservicing. How do you guard against it?
  6. Simple question. LTA says What does MCFers says?? Lets vote and I will feedback this to the LTA session next week.
  7. Hi all, Been trying to tune best sound from my ICE, but dont know why, my feeling is i still not able to fine tune it. Sony Mex BT5100 (intending to change 2 din) 2 x Soundstream 2 ch & 4 ch (LW1.350 & pca4.400) 1 x Soundstream subwoofer (think is 12") 2 set front & rear component speaker (Helix dark blue & Xplod) Just share how i have tried to tune. 1. set audio volume to 3/4 2. turn off all effects, EQ 3. set Balance & fade to front 4. on the 4 ch amp, adjust the gain, leaving auto HPF & LPF, adjust bass boost to increase the bass 5. set Balance & fade to rear 6. on the 4 ch amp, adjust the gain, leaving auto HPF & LPF, adjust bass boost to increase the bass, volume cannot cover the front speaker 7. set Balance & fade to front 8. on the 2 ch amp, adjust the gain, until the bass boost distorted 9. adjust the xover to make the bass shift to front Why i say myself could not properly tune? Because i use to turn the volume to 1/4, is already very loud, now i have to turn the volume to half, then i can hear it. I am thinking is it because my 2 ch gain too few, thats why the my HU volume now have to turn to half then can hear it. Any advice? Thanks
  8. Was turning left to Pasir Ris Dr 3 from Loyang Ave last night at 10pm and when I was waiting at the slip road, traffic was clear at the junction as on-coming traffic was 'red' and 'green' arrow show for vehicle to turn right to Loyang Ave. As traffic was clear, I move 'off' to PR Dr 3 (on left lane) and this SMRT taxi SH* 6367* (dark maroon colour) make an illegal 'U' turn at the junction and speed up & almost knock onto my vehicle rear. The driver (malay driver) was not happy and during the journey to Downtown East, he play punk along PR Dr 3 by slowing down, sped off quickly, cut into the left lane and then right again in front of me. Thinking that I would horn or flick high beam at him, I totally ignore him all the way. At one point nearer to Downtown East, he cut into th left lane but was caught by surprise as there was a 10 tonne lorry infront of him and he can't come out again as there is another NTUC taxi beside him. As I was just behind the NTUC taxi, we overtook him on the right and I turn right at the junction to DE. He followed all the way to DE and as there are 2 auto parking barriers, I took the inner one and he drove up fast and took the outer one. As both barriers open up, he sped forward and as we are turning into a narrow path under the MSCP, I gave way to him to turn first. The driver must be thinking that I will follow him behind but I turn into the MSCP and took another exit out of the MSCP to go to Escape Themepark. There was a yellow taxi waiting at the taxi stop at DE and he overtook the park taxi and followed behind my vehicle. I was thinking to myself, if he follows again with me to the car park of Escape Themepark, he will get hell from me if he confront me..... Was at the Themepark to pickup my child from his yearend class party and whilst slowing down and turn left to the car park, the taxi stopped for a while and I guess that the driver was thinking whether to continue to follow me or not. I slowed down to crawling speed on the straights and looking at my rear view mirror to see if he still follow me. The taxi then move forward and left DE. To the taxi driver, in the first place, you made an illegal 'U' turn and almost knocked onto my vehicle rear. I did not horn or high beam you and I continue my journey peacefully and totally ignore you along the journey but why you choose to cut in and out of the traffic (PR DR 3) really confused me. Why you followed me to DE and did not even pickup or drop off any passenger puzzle me also. Lucky you did not follow me to the car park at Escape Themepark and confront me or you will get hell from me. Maybe you saw the 'P' plates on my vehicle windscreens and trying to create an accident and in hopping that I crash onto your taxi and you can claim your holidays, daily pay, taxi rental fee, then you can dream on as I had attended several courses on Defensive Driving, Speed Driving, Evasive Driving and Off-Course Driving (4 x 4). BTW, the 'P' plates is not for me .... I find it more stressful driving at night after 10pm as a lot of cars speeding, cutting in & out of lanes, HID headlights where super bright following behind you, lorries on 1st lane in slow speed ..... etc...
  9. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend.. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love .. I will. I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set. They, too, will get old. I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect. <1E971883.gif> I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver. As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore....I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day(if I feel like it).. MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!
  10. Hi bros, went across this video, and will be trying out on myself this week. http://www.videojug.com/film/dent-removal-technique No harm!

  15. Quoted from MBworld "Was at in n out with friend when a group of 10 or more guys around 20yrs old started talking smack about my car. Came up to me and choked me then started punching. i landed a few good blows but after they all came in i ran out the door. im 19 and didnt know any of these guys. I have a police report open to get them. luckily i live in a small town and found them all on facebook. Waiting till morning to get them." http://www.mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204...d-over-car.html (Not me horr!! ) So what would you do in such a situation? Say you're alone and running is not an option.
  16. I was driving along the PIE in Lane 1(fast lane) Sat morning at about 1 am when I hit that spot just after Eng Neo where there's a speed camera. Knowing that there's a speed camera coming up, I kept my speed between 80 to 90kmh in anticipation of the camera. A Merc cab starts tailgating me from behind and starts flashing his lights trying to force me to speed up. Perhaps it was late and I didn't like being harassed like that. So I allowed him to speed past me. I admit what I did next aggravated the whole situation. I turned on my highbeam and left it on. What he did next in return was the most psychotic thing I've ever seen on the road. He slammed on his brakes till we nearly stopped on Lane 1 of the expressway. I had to brake so hard I think my ABS came on and I really thought I was going to hit him because by the time I slowed enough, I was just inches from his bumper. If you thought I was tailgating him, I wasn't. He literally just slammed on his brakes. I was literally shaking after the incident cause I never expected anyone in his right frame of mind to do something like that on the expressway while traveling at 90kmh. I'm angry with myself that I couldn't remember his license plate number other than that it starts with SHB cause I was quite tired that night. But I'm not sure what could've been done even if I did take down his LP number. Can or will the taxi company deal with him severely? I think the biggest lesson I learnt from this incident is that there're many psychotic drivers on the road who have no respect for human life. I admit that I aggravated the incident but for someone to do something like that is insane. I guess my lesson is that it's better to leave this psychos to drive whatever way they like and just have a safe journey ourselves. Pple...I would appreciate it if you kept unkind comments about my driving to yourselves. I found this incident very disturbing and just wanted to share it for others to learn from my mistake.

  19. How much of your salary do you keep aside for your own use/saving? Especially if you are married with or without kids? For me...more than 80% goes to my own family (joint acct with wife which pays the bills and installments and household expenses) and to my parents (which I give a decent sizable sum every month). Is that the norm? According to the salary survey, I am above median for someone in my professor and in my age guy (business analyst, 31-35 yrs) Just curious....appreciate sharings from you good folks here

  22. July 24, 2008 Singapore Power to upgrade billing system with new software By Tessa Wong CUSTOMERS of Singapore Power (SP) will have limited service options in the first week of August when the utility company upgrades its billing system's software. This will be SP's first major software upgrading exercise since 2000 but the company says it has nothing to do with a recent spike in cases of increased bills. Customers will still be able to make payments and enquiries during the week, but the following services will be suspended: -Opening or closing of accounts -Setting up or terminating Giro payments -Arranging for instalment payment plans -Fixing of meter-testing appointments -Setting up refunds or payment transfer arrangements -Switching on of power supply, though exceptions will be made for emergencies. SP Services managing director Wong Chit Sieng said the company has carried out 11 months of 'rigorous testing' and two rounds of dry runs for the data migration. 'The new system will enable us to process transactions more efficiently and make future enhancements to serve customers better', he said. The change will not affect the way customers are being billed. SP Services said the recent spike in complaints about increased electricity bills is unrelated to the software upgrade. SP Services' customer service centre and hotline operation hours will be extended a week before and a week after the upgrading. From July 28 till Aug 1, and from Aug 11 to 15, it will be open to 8 pm. For the two Saturdays, Aug 2 and Aug 16, it will be open till 5 pm. The hotline will not operate on Aug 9, which is a public holiday. SP's centre at Somerset Road will be open till 8 pm from Aug 11 to 15, and till 3 pm on Aug 2 and 16. The full range of customer services will resume on Aug 11, and the upgraded system will go 'live' on Aug 9. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...ory_260879.html If not mistaken, the last time they had this exercise few years back, they got entangled in legal suit with their service provider. [/color] Similarly, thousands of customers recieved wrong, bloated and over-charged bills...
