  1. Bro has been putting off getting his eyes checked for too long already. What happened? A Honda Vezel driver decided to seek clarification from a split road sign on Clementi road, which led to him mounting the kerb and hitting the sign too. You can see the exact moment he realised that he was too close and hit the brakes. Like come on lah, the literal 2 split roads aren’t enough?? But it was too late, and he had to fully mount the kerb before getting 2 wheels back down on the road. GG to his alignment. Online chatter Because this happened yesterday on 9th August, some believed he was just feeling extra patriotic. There’s always the usual jokes and comments at bad driving… Some also enjoyed the background music playing during the recording. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. One of the key features of an SUV is the ability to go off road. To use the same car you would pick up your groceries and kids one day and go on mud and sand the next. However, this is Singapore. The only sand and mud we have are off limits to cars (as far as I can find). That didn’t stop a determined Honda Vezel driver from testing his capabilities though. Watch this video to see what I mean. What happened? A Honda Vezel was seen at Simei Carpark driving over a kerb and carrying on as if nothing happened. It appears as though the driver was trying to leave the car park but forgot to turn enough to hit the exit. Instead, he drove straight through a parking lot in order to correct his course and finally leave. Rip to his undercarriage. Let’s watch that again. He could have reversed and prevented any possible damage to the car, like any other sensible person. But this must be some high-level driver’s thinking that I cannot comprehend until I drive for a minimum of 20 years. Comment down below if you think so too! Let the jokes come in You know there had to be jokes after something like that. Notably about what driving school he came from. w My soul would leave my body if I felt my car go over an entire kerb. Others also made jokes about how he was using the car as it was meant to be driven. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. As shared by SG Road Vigilante on its Facebook page, this driver entered a Multi Storey Car Park at Punggol, only to see a BlueSG turning out of the lot and heading straight at him. Well, this wouldn't have been a problem if they were on a two-way road... Understandably, both drivers stopped in their tracks, stunned for a moment. Where is the BlueSG trying to go anyway? Right, just hop over that kerb and reach for the exit like there isn't a gigantic obstacle painted in striking yellow and black... I've always seen BlueSG cars driving fast and sometimes dangerously on the expressways, I chalk it up to their strictly duration-based charging - the faster you reach your destination, the less you pay. Maybe that's what this driver's trying to do? These comments brought up an important point, indeed, it seems unlikely anyone would damage their own car this way. But, hey, don't go right out and rent one to fulfill your dream of driving like Dominic Toretto, you'll still be liable for traffic offences, and will have to foot some hefty repair bills if you damage the BlueSG! Driver of the BlueSG, if you are reading this, do yourself a favour and check out their terms and conditions.
  4. Hi bros, Any recommendations where to repair kerb rashes and how much? Thanks
  5. Hi all, Does anyone have any experience with rim protectors, something like RimPro-Tec, and do they work? I am wondering if they can really protect larger rims with low profile tyres, or whether the protection they offer is insignificant. https://www.sgcarmart.com/products/overview.php?ID=6399 Thanks in advance. Naresh.
  6. I've never understood why anyone will sit on roadside kerbs. It's so dangerous and things like this can happen to you. Are they really so unaware of the potential dangers? ======= Taxi driver fined $4,000 and banned from the road after reversing into student By Elena Chong SINGAPORE - An elderly taxi driver who reversed into a student and pinned her under his car was fined $4,000 and banned from driving for three years on Monday. Thow Ngok Sen, 69, had been performing a u-turn when he changed his mind and reversed, and backed into 22-year-old Ms Abigail Ow Hui Xia who had been sitting on a kerb at a Bishan bus stop with her boyfriend. He mounted the kerb and ran into her as she tried to get out of the way, knocking her over. A passer-by told Thow to move his cab forward to free her but his tyre ran over her thigh. Ms Ow spent two months in hospital for spinal injuries and fractures to her pelvic area and now cannot walk unaided.
  7. Recently encountered this scenario at a shopping center. There is a loading and unloading area nearest to the supermarket at the entrance linking the supermarket and the carpark. Beside this entrance, as well, there are about 4 lots for shoppers to park. The way the entrance and the lots are position, one has to do a 3 point turn to get out of the loading area most of the time. during this 3 point turn, your car may be facing the lots, or you could be reversing into the direction of the lot, depending on whether you are doing a clockwise or counter-clockwise 3 point turn. I was loading my shopping into the car at the loading area. To get out, i had to do a counter-clockwise 3 point turn, such that the rear of my car will face the parking lots before i can exist the loading area. the lot which my car will be "reversing" towards became free. These two woman walked by, decided they want their family car to be parked there as it is nearer the shopping entrance. so the driver when to get his car, while the two woman stand within the lot to "reserve" the lot. I am fine by that. in fact, i do not really care as i do not need that lot anyway. Then the younger woman decided to sit on the kerb while waiting for the car to arrive. I then return the trolley and tried to turn out of the loading area. Because she is sitting on the kerb, i could not see her in any of my mirrors and was afraid to reverse too much, making my 3 point turn into a multi-point turn. Frustrated, i got out of the car and confronted the woman :" Do you know it is dangerous to sit on the kerb in a high traffic area? what happens if i knocked into you cos i cannot see you?" She retorted:" you got pass your license or not?" boy was i peeved. a few angry words were exchanged, and they hurling insults my way wasn't helping. I drove of, angry at the whole situation, and amazed at the stupidity of these two women. Long story short, what would you have done in a similar situation? would it be your fault if you accidently droved into them because you cannot see them, when they delibrately sit on the kerb knowing that you are gonna be reversing into the direction where they are sitting?
  8. Was parking just now in an open-air carpark and reversing butt in and i somehow underestimated the distance between my exhaust pipe and the parking concrete kerb behind. Needless to say, the exhaust hit the kerb and it was quite loud the sound which i could even hear from inside the car. Any damage that i may have done to the poor exhaust? (other than it could be probably be out of shape or position a little bit if there's even such a thing?)
  9. Mounted a keen just now. Any "side effects" to look out for?
  10. Dear all, Turned into a lane where they were doing construction and forced to negotiate a narrow bend and kena some ugly kerb rashes, any reccomendations for repairs with mimimum down time? Thanks all.
  11. Long queue entering expressway from slip road. Then this yaya papaya BMW tried to skip the queue and cut in front middle lane into the left lane. People (including myself) die die don't leave any gap for him. The idiot tried his best to squeeze but he ran out of road and almost hit the kerb. Then LL stuck then and wait till someone behind me pity him and leave a gap..... Shiok.... watch such idiots get pwned.... think got money means he own the road?

    Beauty Vs Practicality

[extract] In this blog entry, I would like to discuss the popular use of body-coloured plastic for the external car body parts, especially the bumpers. I recalled that back in 1989, my dad bought a metallic blue Toyota Corolla. Folks in my generation would recall that it comes with a matt black front and rear bumpers, at a time when more and more cars come equipped with body-coloured ones. As a little boy, I would tell him,
  14. Hi guy, i saw this product online which protects our rims from kerb rashes. However i dont think this company ships to singapore. Do you guys know of any similar products available here? This was the webbie i found. http://www.alloygator.co.uk/home.asp

  16. As above. My mum gave the rims on the right side of the car a bit of kerb rash. Now checking how much would it typically cost to repair minor kerb rash (the damaged parts are less than half the size of my little fingernail) and maybe respray it to a different color. Because the people at C&C advised me to do it outside and i dont want to kena chop carrot head.... Driving a MB CLC 180 with the stock 18 inches rims
  17. My 1 mth old rim kena the kerb recently, luckily it was at the outermost circumference of the rear rim (driver side) but nevertheless stil very obvious... it was at Suntec B1 carpark just before gg to B2..... i hav never parked at Suntec B2 b4 cos usually B1 hav enuf lots, but las fri was v packed... even nearby Marina Sq was full.... So when i proceed to turn into B2 ramp, heard a craaa sound.... it was circular road jus b4 the B2 downramp..... i had cleared tighter carparks like Republic Plaza (very narrow space gg up or down), but the suntec one seemed wider... Haiz jus careless...... other dangerous place are those with complimentary ticket machine whereby u hav to drive very close to the machine to slot in the free parking ticket...... drive too close n will scratch yr rims on the kerb... but so far i havent kena any of these.... another plc is Far east plaza.. it has the most narrow upslope/downslope driveway... if turn too late/early, will not hit ur rims, but will hit ur car side body instead!!!! realy mus go at turtle speed there inorder not to hit the walls!!!!

  22. My mum always say i machiam like driving lorry when i reverse park as i like to open my car door to better align my car along the parking lot line, and to see the distance between my rear wheels from the kerb.. so. how many 'lorry drivers' like me out there? haha.
