  1. Hi all , Recently have tried this new Pirelli P Zero PZ4 ,,,,perform well during raining days ...so try to recommend to bro here ... I understand this tyres have new design .... And the tyres thread looks quite similar to Michelin PSS ..to have good grip ... Here is some link i can find from the website, .... http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/The-New-Pirelli-P-Zero-Launched.htm https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=214
  2. Costs a whooping SGD1.42 million. http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/motoring/fiery-ferrari Fiery Ferrari Ferrari has rolled out the 812 Superfast, successor to its F12berlinetta - a car which was launched five years ago and still looks fresh. The new car is an homage to the Ferrari 500 Super Fast of 1964. It is also the fastest series production Ferrari to date, with a century sprint time of 2.9 seconds - the first to clock under 3 seconds. Here in Ferrari's hometown, a test-drive of the 812 includes a 144km route that passes through rustic towns, countryside and twisty mountain stretches. There are also a couple of hot laps on Ferrari's famed Fiorano test track. The 812 is drop-dead gorgeous, with its long bonnet and short fastback tail silhouette evolving from the F12's sleek design. Every vent and slit on its sensuous body is not just for aesthetics, but also for better slipstream airflow and reduced aerodynamic drag. Complementing this are front air-intake with active flaps and a rear diffuser that deploys at high speeds. The 812 is a tad larger than the F12, measuring 4,657mm tip to tip (plus 39mm), 1,971mm wide (plus 29mm) and 1,276mm tall (plus 3mm). But it manages to retain the same dry weight of 1,525kg, thanks to an extensive use of aluminium, carbon fibre and light alloys. The cabin layout is familiar, with Ferrari signature features such as eyeball vents and steering- mounted drive mode selection. In the test car, there is an optional infotainment screen for the passenger, giving it a plusher ambience. But there is only one cupholder in the cabin and the passenger side does not have one-touch function for window raising. These are minor compared with a distracting windscreen glare from a contrasting dash lining. Still, there is no denying that the 812 shines in the driving department. Along village roads and narrow town streets, it can crawl along at below 60kmh in seventh gear with the engine barely above 1,000rpm. Such is the immense torque available from its 6.5-litre engine. It is a little buzzy, but blipping down a gear or two to raise the revs above 2,000rpm hits a sweet spot in the car's soundtrack. Be sure to activate the "bumpy road" button, too, for a tolerably firm ride. Sport mode is best reserved for perfect surfaces. The 812 may be wide and low, but you do not feel hemmed in. There is good forward visibility, with the raised front wheel haunches defining the edges of the car. The car feels more compact than it actually is. In town, progress is often interrupted by slower traffic. Thankfully, the car is super-quick in overtaking, allowing it to exploit gaps in the flow. After all, the car has 718Nm of torque, 80 per cent of which is available from 3,500rpm. On snaking mountain roads, the 812 is able to display its cornering finesse. The sharpest of hairpin bends, even uphill, are dispatched with ease. Just a flick or two on the paddle-shifter and a light tap on the throttle will bring on G-force- inducing cornering lines with road-hugging grip. On the Fiorano track, there is a chance to drive in Race mode. The 812 impresses with its blistering straight-line acceleration as well as its cornering ability. Its responsive steering, equally quick gearbox and active rear-wheel steering work in tandem to make anyone feel like a race driver behind the wheel. It may sound cliched, but Ferrari has managed to make an already great sports car superlative. As a grand tourer built for road and track, the 812 has few rivals. The car will make its Singapore debutin the middle of next month, with deliveries starting in December. • The writer contributes to Torque, a motoring monthly published by SPH Magazines SPECS / FERRARI 812 SUPERFAST Price: $1,420,000 without COE Engine: 6,496cc 48-valve V12 Transmission: Seven-speed dual clutch with paddle shift Power: 789bhp at 8,500rpm Torque: 718Nm at 7,000rpm 0-100kmh: 2.9 seconds Top speed: 340 kmh Fuel consumption: 14.9litres/100km Agent: Ital Auto

  4. https://newsroom.toyota.eu/2018-new-auris/ Making its world debut at the 2018 Geneva motor show, the third generation Auris features a more dynamic exterior design and, with a brand new 2.0 litre full hybrid powertrain joining the engine line-up, marks the debut of Toyota’s dual hybrid strategy. Toyota has always prided itself on listening to its customers and responding to the feedback they provide. In particular -after 20 years of hybrid leadership and more than 11 million global sales, including over 1.5 million units in Europe- the company is interested to learn from them as to how it can keep improving its hybrids and make them more attractive to new types of customers. For this reason, Toyota has decided to offer its core models with a choice of two hybrid powertrains; one providing the traditional benefits of fuel efficiency and a relaxing drive, the second building on these strengths with greater power and more dynamic driving characteristics. In 2010, the first generation Auris was the first high volume, core Toyota model in Europe to benefit from hybrid drive, and now it will be the first model to offer this choice of hybrid powertrains. The current Auris powertrain line-up consists of five conventional engines and one hybrid powertrain. However, reflecting the brand’s continued focus towards hybrid technology, the new Auris will offer customers just one conventional engine -a 1.2 litre turbo petrol unit- and a choice of 122 hp, 1.8 litre or 180 hp, 2.0 litre hybrid powertrains. The 1.8 litre system fulfils all the requirements that customers have come to expect from a Toyota full hybrid powertrain -silent, intuitive, responsive and self-sufficient EV technology with low cost of ownership, no need for plug-in recharging, offering outstanding fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, and up to 50% all-electric driving on the everyday commute. Whilst continuing to reward customers with all of the above benefits, the 2.0 litre system takes full advantage of the added ride comfort, stability, handling and driving enjoyment inherent in the newly adopted Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. It will offer drivers an ‘energised drive’, with more power and steering wheel-mounted paddles for a more dynamic, engaging driving experience. TOYOTA NEW GLOBAL ARCHITECTURE (TNGA) Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) represents the foundation for all of Toyota’s future powertrain and vehicle development. It marks a revolution in the way the company designs, engineers and manufactures vehicles, and is integral to the company’s mission to build ever better cars that are more stylish, more enjoyable to drive and even safer. TNGA introduces new, defined guidelines for the positioning of different state-of-the-art components which simplify vehicle design in key areas. The impact is on items that are largely out of sight, so designers still had the freedom to give the new Auris a visually distinctive and individual look with a lower stance and more appealing proportions. The new Auris’ TNGA platform guarantees a more rewarding driving experience thanks to a centre of gravity, multi-link rear suspension, and a more rigid body shell through the use of high strength steel as reinforcement in key areas. All contribute to better handling and stability without compromising ride and comfort. All new TNGA-based vehicles prioritise the highest active and passive safety standards. New Auris is designed to meet the exacting standards of independent crash testing programmes and provide increased safety levels through the sophisticated functions and systems of the latest Toyota Safety Sense technology. DESIGN ‘Our primary goal with the new Auris was to create the most bold and dynamic hatchback on the market, without compromising on interior usability,’ explains Simon Humphries, Executive General Manager, Toyota Global Design. ‘Harnessing the low centre of gravity afforded by the TNGA layout, the vehicle is light and agile in the side view, yet as we move to the rear, the architecture transforms to create a solid, wide and low stance that is absolutely critical to the European market.’ Longer and lower than its predecessor, the new Auris adopts a significantly more dynamic design and more striking frontal styling. Overall length has increased by 40 mm, all of which has been absorbed within a longer wheelbase. Importantly, the overall height of the new hatchback has been reduced by some 25 mm, whilst the cowl height of the vehicle is a significant 47 mm lower than that of the current model. The result is a sleeker shape and a more attractive, lower bonnet, which in turn improves safety by giving the driver a clearer forward view. The new frontal styling is a further evolution of Toyota’s Under Priority Catamaran and Keen Look design philosophies. Beneath the curved front edge of a flatter, clamshell bonnet, the narrow upper grille incorporates a central Toyota logo and, at its extremities, new, all-LED headlamp clusters with integral Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The surround to the large, trapezoidal lower grille projects powerfully forward of the bonnet front edge and upper grille in a pronounced step, and is less pointed and more vertical than before, resulting in a reduction to the vehicle’s front overhang of some 20 mm. The sides of the grille surround form a trademark, catamaran hull shape at the front corners of the new Auris, emphasising the vehicle’s 30 mm increase in width, and its broad, sporting stance. Beneath the grille, the surround splits to clearly define the lip of a front spoiler, the edges of which are angled upwards to create a zone between the spoiler and the catamaran hull form, in which are housed LED foglamps. The grille mesh itself is of a new design, which is more articulate and refined than the classic honeycomb finish. The new rear design is more rounded than before in plan form, strengthening the visual relationship between the front and rear of the vehicle. An increase in rear windscreen rake of some 14 degrees and the muscular hip adopted above the rear wheel arch combine to make the overall appearance of the vehicle rear more compact, despite an increase in rear overhang of 20 mm. A roof spoiler is fitted, as standard, on all model grades. The rear all-LED lamp clusters feature light guides designed to emphasise the new Auris’ wide, planted rear stance. And the rear bumper styling echoes the frontal Under Priority Catamaran design; a thin lower lip here incorporating twin chrome inserts. The new Auris’ dynamic design is further emphasised through an optional bi-tone colour scheme, which combines the body colour with a black finish to the roof and all glazing pillars. TLDR: New Corolla hatchback replacing the Auris that was sold here briefly by BM with a 1.6 until new COE Cat A had power cap. Uses same TNGA platform as new Prius for lower CG, better handling etc. In the UK, uses the same 1.2 turbo as outgoing Auris/Current CHR, 1.8 hybrid (current CHR/Prius) and NEW 2.0 180hp hybrid. As both 1.8/2.0 hybrid are Cat B, let's see if BM brings which one in. 1.2 turbo is certain if CHR turbo sells well. Can't wait for sedan and JDM hatch (this one is made in UK)
  5. Read this from a friend's FB posting... $88K and no COE required! Given the current COE climate, would this create an avalanche of orders?? http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/...301-331015.html
  6. Royole Corporation unveiled its FlexPai smartphone at an event in Beijing, on Oct 31.PHOTO: TWITTER/ ROYOLE CORPORATION Chinese company Royole Corporation has launched what may be the world's first foldable phone. The company, which specialises in manufacturing flexible displays, unveiled its FlexPai smartphone on Wednesday (Oct 31) at an event in Beijing. The device has a 19.8cm screen with a thickness of 7.6mm and can fold in half, which would then split the screen into three separate smaller screens on the front, rear and spine. It weighs 320g, over 50 per cent more than the iPhone XS Max or Galaxy Note 9, both weighing slightly over 200g. Royole said that the Flexpai had been tested to withstand more than 200,000 open-and-shut movements, meaning it should offer years of use before any damage to the picture, reported BBC. "It is a historical moment that we have been waiting for years (to see)," said Bill Liu Zihong, 35, co-founder, chairman and chief executive of the company. He believes the technology will be popular as it caters to consumers who want a smartphone with a large display but is still easy to carry, reported South China Morning Post. The phone is set to retail from 8,999 yuan (S$1,780) to 12,999 yuan and will begin to be delivered in late December, said Royole. The six-year-old company said it would hold three "flash sales" to consumers in China on Thursday, reported BBC. BBC said that this launch has caught many industry watchers by surprise as many expected Samsung or Huawei to be the first to sell such a device. Evan Blass, a reporter with Venturebeat.com, a technology website, tweeted that LG intends to unveil a foldable phone of its own in 2019. I can't speak for Samsung... ...but I do know that LG plans to unveil a foldable phone at its 2019 CES keynote.

  12. A device that can warn drivers of impending collisions was launched on Monday morning, under a move to reduce road accidents here. Consisting of a camera and screen mounted on the car dashboard, it can also help alert drivers to speed limits on the roads and warn them if they are drifting out of the lane. Called the Mobileye Telemetrics Advanced Driver Assistance System, it is an initiative of the Singapore Transport Association (STA) and Spring Singapore, which is supporting companies' adoption of the technology through its Capability Development Grant. STA chairman Dave Ng said the technology can help improve road safety, especially at a time where the number of accidents involving heavy vehicles are on the rise. 13. Not bad if it works well. A good alternative for car cameras. The pro of using this over the in car camera is that no need to retrieve/transfer the video footage from your in car camera, since you can just submit from your smartphone. More importantly it's free and also no cumbersome installation. I think this is a must for all drivers, who do not have a in car camera installed. Do note that the app will only be launched this Friday, and available for both iOS and Android. Now the thing is, where can I find a good bracket to mount onto the windscreen?
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqMjvVaMsE4 A man who was filmed throwing a kitten at a wall has been jailed for a year. Farid Ghilas, 24, sparked outrage in France after a video appeared online of him picking up the cat and hurling it towards a block of flats. Remarkably, five-month-old Oscar survived the attack. He suffered a broken leg but is expected to make a full recovery. More than 260,000 people signed a petition calling for Ghilas, who is of North African descent, to face "exemplary punishment" for his actions. He was charged with animal cruelty and faced up to two years in jail and a 30,000 euro fine. “He acted with a singular perversity and sadism that has shocked the entire planet,” said Emmanuel Merlin, the prosecutor. Ghilas, who has been subjected to racist insults and death threats since the video came to light, was jailed for a year and banned from owning an animal. 19. SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea's much hyped long-range rocket launch on Friday ended in apparent failure, South Korean officials said, dealing a blow to the prestige of the reclusive and impoverished state that defied international pressure to push ahead with the plan. North Korea said it wanted the Unha-3 rocket to put a weather satellite into orbit, although critics believed it was designed to enhance the capacity of North Korea to design a ballistic missile deliver a nuclear warhead capable of hitting the continental United States. A spokesman for the Defence Ministry in Seoul told journalists that the rocket had broken up and crashed into the sea a few minutes after launch. Officials from Japan confirmed the mission had failed, while ABC News cited U.S. officials saying it had failed, although there was no immmediate indication of where it fell. The rocket's flight was set to take it over a sea separating the Korean peninsula, with an eventual launch of a third stage of the rocket in seas near the Philippines that would have put the satellite into orbit. This was North Korea's second consecutive failure to get a satellite into orbit, although it claimed success with a 2009 launch and there was no comment on the launch from North Korea's official media. The Unha-3 rocket took off from a new launch site on the west coast of North Korea, near the Chinese border. The launch had been timed to coincide with the 100th birthday celebrations of the isolated and impoverished state's founder, Kim Il-sung, and came after a food aid deal with the United States had hinted at an easing of tensions on the world's most militarised border. 21. The next-generation Volkswagen Beetle concept will be introduced at the Los Angeles auto show in November, according to Autocar. Citing unidentified sources, the magazine claims the car will get a renewed look, and should feature more inspired engine choices as it is prepped for a 2011 market release. A 2.0-liter engine producing 210 bhp (213 PS, 157 kW) could be seen on the car, more powerful than any engine currently sold on the vehicle. Also expected are 1.4-liter 160 bhp (162 PS, 119 kW) and 1.2-liter 105 bhp (106 PS, 78 kW) petrol engines. Diesel offerings could include 2.0-liter 140 bhp (142 PS, 104 kW) and 1.6-liter 105 bhp (106 PS, 78 kW) units. Customers in the US might get the chance to purchase the car with a five-cylinder 2.5-liter model cranking out 170 bhp (172 PS, 127 kW). The company is also toying with the idea of producing a hybrid version of the car. Autocar says the vehicle will have a wider stance and longer wheelbase as it will be produced at the same plant, and on the same architecture, as the VW Jetta. The Beetle is expected to get a MacPherson strut front, torsion beam rear suspension, though a multi-link rear is also possible. Look for exterior changes to be inspired by the 2005 Volkswagen Ragster concept.
  22. Quick Fact: -2.4 Theta 2 Direct Injection Engine -209hp with combined power from electric motor -Using lithium polymer battery instead of the nickel metal hydride used on Camry and Fusion. -Using 6-spd automatic instead of CVT on other rivals. -Best highway fuel economy, as the vehicle can be driven in full electric mode up to 100kmh, compared to all Toyota Hybrid which can only run up to 64.
  23. What would your vote be? i'm not talking about technology, price, brand etc. just purely audience appeal.
