I learn my lesson, always try to be around when your workshop is trying something major or major servicing. First time is ask for Denso spark plug, i ended up with a NGK copper plug. Today when i do a major undercarriage overhaul to solve some knocking sound, one of the item is the bushings. I went under the lift and inspected the rubber bushing and found only one side is changed. The blur technician had took the old bushing from the left side and install it on the right side. Had to re-disconnect the linkage and redo. It not bad to stay around while the tech is working on your car.

Median monthly household income among resident employed households - a household headed by a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident and with at least one working person - from work rose from S$7,870 in 2013 to S$8,290 in 2014. This is a 5.3 per cent increase in nominal terms, or a 4.1 per cent increase in real terms, after taking inflation into account. Median monthly income from each member of the household also rose from S$2,247 in 2013 to S$2,380 in 2014. This is an increase of 5.9 per cent in nominal terms, or 4.7 per cent in real terms. Overall, resident households received S$3,370 per household member on average from various Government schemes in 2014. This is 25 per cent higher than the average amount of S$2,700 received five years ago, in 2009. However, this was lower than the average of S$3,650 received in 2013, owing to a lower level of one-off transfers in 2014, said SingStat. Bros & Sistas, Me went down to AMK last nite to meet up with EZ-STAB guy on his regular installation and demo session..Saw an Altis and Euro-R there getting fixed up. When my turn, the EZ-STAB guy, Jon was real nice and explaned to me abt his pdt and the science of it..I was giving him a doubtful look and then....he offered to install a test unit on my car and let me drive around with it for free for one week...I was really shock to see someone so confident of his product.. Right now, the unit is in my car, and he only asked for my name and HP.. As a true blue Singaporean consumer, I told him if it really works well for me, I will beep him and pay him for it...but if not...then.... Guess what...He told me if it doesn't work for me, stripped it from my car and dumped it....Wah lao eh...I 'm really really impressed now... Today, I will be giving it a real tryout....wondering if any fellow forumers here had any similiar experience here...

Graduates working as maids in Shanghai SHANGHAI: In Shanghai, a small but increasing number of highly educated graduates are choosing to work as maids. As more expats and local talents relocate to Shanghai to live and work, demand for qualified domestic helpers is on the rise. The pay is attractive as qualified domestic workers can earn up to US$5 per hour, double the usual rate. Domestic workers caring for post-pregnancy women and babies typically earn more than US$900 a month. That is almost double the average pay of a fresh university graduate, which is less than US$500. Shanghai Women's Federation's chief Sun Mei E, said: "They see this as a sunrise industry. Hence, many are willing to come into this, especially college graduates and those with higher education. There is also a small portion of them who aim to set up their own domestic services company." Thirty-year-old Li Na chose to become a domestic worker despite objections from her family. She now earns up to US$2300 a month. Helping out in expat homes, she said learning to speak English and paying special attention to the needs of these foreigners adds value to her service. "I noted down where the Consulate General of different countries were as well as where they can go shopping or buy groceries. Some of them are only here for two or three years and will like to explore the country in the shortest time possible by making use of weekends. You can do research and share travel tips with them," said Li. One said someone had stolen his. And another said that his label had fallen off due to repeated washing. Drivers of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles are required to display the palm-size label on the front and rear bumpers, but some are not doing so. Not only are these drivers breaking the law, they are also risking their lives - and that of their rescuers - in the event of an accident. The Land Transport Authority says that the purpose of the label is to alert Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers when they respond to accidents or fires involving CNG vehicles, to ensure that appropriate procedures are taken. Taxi driver Reik Lien. When contacted, Lieutenant-Colonel N Subhas, SCDF's director of public affairs, said that its officers need to observe certain operational procedures that are unique to CNG vehicles. He said: 'For instance, firefighters will need to first take an additional precaution by turning off the manual shut-off valve at the head of the CNG cylinder, which is located in the vehicle boot. 'This will prevent any gas leak that may pose a problem when firefighters carry out operations which require breaking or cutting, such as incidents which involve casualties that are trapped in a vehicle.' There are about 3,200 CNG vehicles in Singapore, out of a total vehicle population of 872,000. An LTA spokesman said that so far, no one has been caught for not displaying the labels. The Smart limousine cab driver said he gets his car washed every day. Mr Tan, who has been driving the CNG vehicle for two months, said: 'I'll definitely have to get a new one from the office soon.' Another Smart limousine cabby, Mr Reik Lien, 56, said he was aware of the requirement. But he claimed his labels were stolen, 'probably by other CNG car drivers'. Mr Lien has been driving a taxi for three years. So why didn't he get new ones? 'I haven't had time to collect them from the office yet. CNG labels are provided by the original car agents or workshops that convert cars to run on CNG. They also provide replacement labels to customers when asked. Two workshops The New Paper spoke to provide the labels for free, while one workshop charges $8 for a pair. Other drivers, such as Mr Maurice Lim, 41, said they did not know they were required by law to display the labels. Mr Lim, a sole proprietor, said: 'I bought my car about four months ago and I wasn't given any labels. The workshop employees didn't tell me it was necessary. 'I even sent my car for an inspection and nobody said anything. Anyway, just take a look around. There are always about five out of 10 cars that don't display the label. 'That's why I didn't think it was required.' Mr Vincent Lim, 33, was equally clueless about the rule. The designer said: 'I saw that all the luxury cars, the Camrys and the Mercedes-Benz cars, didn't have any labels, so I thought it wasn't necessary. 'I just did the same thing. Hi guys, lately there's this thing on seat belts... for me, when i was a kid, my parents car didnt have a seat belt in the rear seat. then when i sat in my relatives car, it was always so fun for me to belt up, cos for me, it feels so " secured", like something holding you. now, i always belt up when i drive. and i make sure my passengers do. which can lead to arguements at times cos they'll be like " WONT GET CAUGHT LAH". cos i don like to say " bad things", so just say " hey, better belt up, later police catch we all kena".. but in reality, *touch wood*, i noe it it will save a life. what really pisses me off is that, i knew a girl, b4 i met her, she didnt like to belt up. when i met her and she rode with me, i made sure she belted up, and it became a habit for her. then later on when she went to ride in her friend's car, they laughed and jeered at her when she belted up.. like " wahh, now so kiasu ah". these pple are bloody childish to me.. anyway, what are your opinions?
