  1. Time for a part 2. Thanks to @Leepee for starting the original thread: Hopefully with this new thread, we can set some standard for the type of VRNs to be posted. All these photos were taken by myself in the past few years except for 'SBB8U', which was contributed by @Matoonia. Thanks pal. Let start with Three of a Kind. (Do note that 'S3S' is not a road legal VRN, but created by Tommie Goh for his prized Ferrari F40) And here come the Royal Flush! I know that '88', '888" & '8888' are now on a totally different car (I just saw '888' on a new i4 but not able to take photo 'cos am driving), but I am glad to be able catch these VRNs in person. @Toeknee_33 this 'SBB' series swee boh? Look forward to the active participation from our pool of car plate spotter @Atachi @badlammy @Civic101 @Freeder @Mhajime @Confusedboi @Philiptan86 @Dp26 @Vratenza @Atrecord @BanCoe @Gnahp @Mkl22 @Sdf4786k @SiLangKia @Spring @Tohto @Fcw75 @Othello @mersaylee @Jamesc @RH1667 @zipping @Volvobrick @ER-3682 @Mooose @107fan @Soreloser
  2. Now you say "I do" also expensive liao. For those planning to tie the knot the later half of the year, the Registry of Marriages (ROM) has just announced that they will be increasing the fees starting from 1 July 2017. According to reports, the price hike will affect foreigners the most with the fees increased to a flat fee of $380 for all dates. Previously it costs $128 on weekdays, $198 on weekends and $298 on popular days. For Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PR), the fees will be upped from $26 to $42 for the registration. A ROM spokesman states the price review was made to keep up with rising operational costs and ensuring quality service for the registrants. 6. Hi! I realised used cars now have SKB, SKC....new registration plates. Is it because they bought a new 10 year COE or they just prefer new number? They can still use the old number that came with the car right?

  9. Anyone can enlighten me how long will it take from new car registration at LTA to owner taking delivery and what are the procedures/step? what are the things to be done 1st prior to registration? I'm asking cos according to my SE, car already in port and awaiting from superior to approve before he will proceed with the registration. I've asked him question like coe bidding, lta inspection and putting up of additional accessories but the answer is "sorry, have to wait boss instruction 1st". Rather irritated by his answer but guess he's playing it safe and dun wan to commit into anything yet in case something screw up and i no choice but to start banging table liao hehehe.. As for coe, its either they will die die bid 1 for me on the next round or just throw in the cat E, of which i dun really bothered much. But he did promised me on black & white that car will be delivered latest by 26/03/07. So i'm wandering how long it'll take to deliver after registration. Still not confident if they can really do it by the stated date. Will appreciate any info/feedback by those new car buyer who have got their ride. Btw, mine is from PI, quite a reputable one I should say. Thanks.
  10. Hi All Need some experts here to give me some advise on converstion to a Private Limited Company. I understand that for Companies with less than 20 individual shareholders (Exempt Private Companies) do not need to appoint an auditor, audit their accounts or file them with ACRA if their revenue is less than S$5 million for the financial year. But what is Exempt Private Companies? Will the Private Limited Company be subjected to alot of regulatory checks? I'm thinking of converting my current company to a Pte Ltd. Many thanks in advance.
  11. Can I ask if you guys have insisted to accompany dealer to lta to register the new car under your name and on the spot then only pass the full payment to dealer? Or u just pay and let them do the regist ration later by themselves? Car cannot be driven away by you till lta registration completed right?

  13. I saw a Toyota Innova that bears QR plate with Malaysia road tax sticker. A quick check reveals that it was a Sarawak registered car. I am toying with the idea of driving my car to East Malaysia for a road trip. Anybody knows how or done it before? Should be by ferry, right? Cheers
  14. P1 registration: Child must live at declared address for at least 30 months from July 2, 2015 Children who have secured places in primary schools under the home-school distance priority will be required to stay at the address for at least 30 months from the start of the Primary 1 registration exercise on July 2, 2015. -- PHOTO: ST FILE By Amelia Teng SINGAPORE - Children who have secured places in primary schools under the home-school distance priority scheme will be required to live at the address for at least 30 months from the start of the Primary 1 registration exercise on July 2. This new rule applies to children entering primary school next year. Previously there was no specific length of time set by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The ministry said on its website: "A child who gains priority admission into a school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 registration exercise on 2 July 2015." The ministry said that there are a small number of cases where families are unable to remain at the registered address for the entire duration of their children's primary school studies. Even so, a child who gains priority admission into school by distance must still abide by the new rule, it said. "If this condition is not met, MOE reserves the right to transfer the child to another school with vacancies, as the priority admission to the first school was based on the declared address used for registration," the ministry said. "The home-school distance category priority is given with the expectation that the family will reside at the address for the duration of the child's primary school studies, as it is for the convenience and interest of the child," it added. Families which have bought a yet-to-be completed property and plan to move in after it is completed, are required to live at the new address for at least 30 months starting from the time the family moves into the property. "For example, if the child registers in 2015 and only moves into the new address in July 2017, the 30 months stay period starts from July 2017," MOE said on its website. In March this year, a father who lied about where he lived to get his daughter into a top primary school was sentenced to two weeks in jail. The 35-year-old self-employed man, who cannot be named to protect his daughter's identity, pleaded guilty in February to giving false information to the school's principal on July 30, 2013. A charge of lying to a police sergeant 10 days earlier to change the address on his identity card was taken into consideration. The man had indicated his address as being within 1km to 2km of the brand-name school, when he registered his daughter under Phase 2C of the Primary 1 registration exercise in 2013. This allowed his daughter to secure a place. His identity card showed the same address, but the man actually lived in Balestier Road, which fell outside the priority radius. The address he provided belonged to his uncle's sister, and had been rented out. His subterfuge came to light when MOE visited the place. 20. Mitsubishi registered less than 5 cars in Jan 2012. It is very sad to see one of the makes going down in our country. Hope that they recover soon with new models..... http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/dam/lta/Corp...20by%20make.pdf
  21. Can anyone advise me how long does it take to register a car? From the time COE is successful until collection. Assume that ready stock available. Thanks.
  22. I was driving into Malaysia and at the Malaysia side of the customs, there was a a traffic jam and cars were inching/merging slowly in multiple columns into the customs lane. All the vehicles were crawling forward and I wanted to change lane and signalled my intention. After a while, when there was a sizeable gap, I shifted my car nose in (about 20% in at an oblique angle). A maroon Toyota Wish driver in the adjacent lane, unhappy that I made it into his lane, came near and pointed his bumper into my driver side door. I stopped moving but he did not. He deliberately turned his steering to the right and continued moving forward, scrubbing his left corner edge of his bumper across my driver side door, leaving paint marks and abrasive scratches, after which he stopped his vehicle right next to mind and gesticulate with the palm-up wave that communicated "you think you can just barge in, dream on!". I'm not going to argue who's right and who's wrong, but I would like to make a claim against his insurance. I only have pictures of his vehicle's rear, and a very blur picture of his face (through the windscreen), and a picture of the damage to my car. What can I do to make the claim?
  23. Toyota still No. 1 with 1179 units registered up to March 2011. BMW a very close second with 1072 units registered. VW has replaced Merc as number 3 and Porsche is still on Top 10. Traditional better selling brands like Mazda, Suburu, Suzuki and Mit are "eating" grass. Figures are taken off LTA website and based on car registrations by make.
