  3. What can you do if all you have is a few hours? Sit around the airport lounge? Or explore the city? What's there to see anyway? There are so many terms in to describe Turkey and Istanbul: The crossroad between the East and West, a smorgasbord of culture, the narrowest point between two continents of Europe and Asia.. and so much more Yet nothing quite prepares you for the sights, sounds and smells that confront you when you land. Yes there are kebabs and wraps. But it tastes so much better than those you find back home. Was that lamb or some other animal mixed together? Well if you eat well in the streets of Istanbul, you will have no such doubt. How about the ice cream? Sublime and if you get a fun loving vendor, he will toss, spin and twirl that cone playfully in front of your eyes. Then there is the history. So much has happened here which has affected the world and has found their way into our history books. Strife on a global scale, the rise and fall of empires, world wars, genocide and more. It is also a delicate powder keg of the major monistic faiths with mosques almost abutting the churches. In fact both faiths may have occupied the same building and I can't say there are too many other places where Islamic messages share the same space on the walls as mosaics of Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ. Such is the complexity here. Yet you do feel a little tension as you stand in Taxim square with so many people thronging the streets. Amongst them are crafty pickpockets, and it does take away the amazement when you have to keep watch on your wallet all the time. Ultimately you do surrender to the crowds and simply soak in the atmosphere, whilst trying to appreciate the history and beauty, sitting somewhere in the middle of the many wonderful cafes and watch the world go by with a delightful cup of coffee in your hand. I found this well reviewed guide company and they gave very good service, with a warm and friendly guide. https://www.dailyistanbultours.com/ Do take note: Take care of your belongings, especially in crowded places, as there are pickpockets and my own guide was pick pocketed actually. You do see many places used in the movies like Taken 2, James Bond, and many more.. truly amazing The Spice Bazaar: Turkish delights Spices The Hagia Sophia Plates which glow in the dark Grand Bazaar Kebabs:

  5. Hi, I have less than 6 months to go (mid-Nov) before I need to scrap my car. Given the unstable market, what would be the best course of action? e.g. scrap car immediately and/or encash PARF/COE rebate? Wait for couple more months to enter second hand market? Thanks!

  8. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/autogeek_1939_31371247 After purchasing the Duragloss 921 from maddriver at the last MDDS, I drove home where after inspecting my car, I noticed the car had birdshit & treewax here and there. [ol][*]Sprayed some duragloss on the birdshit and treewax[*]Waited 3 mins[*]Wiped off offending crap with a tissue paper with ease. After that, inspected my sealant - it's still smooth and definitely not affected by the 921.[*]Also noticed that the areas covered by the 921 are abit glossier - the 921 bonds and enhances my sealant's shine! [/ol]This is some good shite. Thumbs up!

  17. Please list the above figure of your ride (now or previous) and see how the two figures relate? mine about 150hp per ton, 0-100 about 5s Note: actually Nm (ie torgue) per ton is more relevantly to 0-100 sec....?? but nevermind, just a casual comparison between power / acceleration.
  18. Folks, my SO's ride got bumped from behind and the guy wanted to settle cos he's in the wrong. Initially he offered $200 but my SO was smart enough to say no and so the dude called his mechanic to come down. The mechanic came down and then said that he can repair everything and will charge the amount to the guy and the guy said okay. They both seemed okay enough people and so my SO said alright. She also took down the particulars of the driver. My question is - should I let things be settled like that? Should my SO make at least a report with her insurer just in case the other party tries to play punk? THanks!
  19. Was at Autobac last weekend, saw this thing that is supposed to fill up tyres with some compound if there has been a puncture, and can continue driving until u can find a replacement. Any comment if sure it works? And on the shelf, the maximum is up to 17" rim... (knn.. shouldn't have upsized) Anyone knows if 2 cans can be used instead, or a place that sells for 18"?
  20. Hi bros, am enquiring on behalf of a buddy who is driving a 2nd swift sport(2007), he has been complaining of high F/C of around 9.5 per L, and I quote from him 'My RPM when I'm driving at between 90-110 is 3500-4000 rpm' [dizzy] Now I'm quite a new driver myself but I do know that those RPM figures are ridiculous if travelling at cruise speed of 90-110. What could be the problem with his ride? Any advise is greatly appreciated.
