  1. You’d think after we’ve written so many posts about drivers running red lights and failing there’d be fewer cases. This is why you guys should share our articles so that your friends will be made aware of the consequences of driving recklessly (i.e, being our next post)! What happened? A Volkswagen Jetta tried to run a red light after failing to give way to a red MPV that I believe is a Honda Stream. Don’t quote me on that second one though. The footage shows the Jetta speeding up at the intersection right as the MPV was turning, like he was going to make that gap at all. Bro definitely has Ayrton Senna as his favourite driver. On the other hand, the Jetta also has a turbocharger; so maybe just unfortunate timing? There is no information as to the conditions of both drivers. Online chatter Cue generic comments blaming the VW. Running a red light and immediately getting hit is pretty funny karma. Interestingly enough, the watermark in this video was significantly larger and partially obscured the important bits of the video. This didn’t escape netizens’ attention, leading to ridicule. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. My VW Jetta 2014 model recently have "brake servo failure" with 3 error signs shown (photo). Now this sign came out every time after engine starts. In march 2021 VW Singapore quoted me replacement of ABS/EDL Control Unit for $3,974, of course I refused to do so. Anyone can offer your solution?

Hi all, Some pictures to share with you while I am overseas : the notchback version of the Golf V - the Jetta. The rear lamp clusters are very similar to the latest Passat (the silver car next to the black Jetta). Read from a couple of motoring literature in Europe that the Golf VI will be introduced earlier than expected, in 2008 or so. This will probably be the shortest production run for the Jetta. http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_ne...006/112_news11/ A preview of the Golf VI (albeit small) http://www.autozeitung.de/pages/auto-news/...02-vw_golf6.jpg
  4. For most owners who are into cars, they will tend to want to meet owners who own the same car/model as themselves. Hence from time to time, we will see many brand/model-based car clubs gather at places like the indoor stadium to chat and get to know more about their cars. However, we are kind of sure these Volkswagen drivers in the video below won't be friends anytime soon... Uploaded on ROADS.sg, we can see a Volkswagen Golf coming from the opposite direction before colliding straight on with the camera car (a Volkswagen Jetta). The accident happened on the morning of 22nd of April at the PIE interchange between Jurong Town Hall Road and Bukit Batok Road. There were no reports as of press time of what caused the Golf owner to drive into the opposite lane. We hope he did not faint or suffer a heart attack, causing him to lose control of his car. We did noticed the Scirocco (yes, another Volkswagen) moving away from danger as the Golf came closer. Good reflexes dude. Maybe if they stayed at home, such things won't have happened... videoplayback.mp4
  5. What would you do if you're heading to your car to find not one but TWO bags of rubbish on the bonnet? Gone viral A recent article on STOMP has gone viral with 126 shares in under 2 hours! Here's the article! Woman caught leaving rubbish on driver's car at Bukit Panjang The article describes how a woman got caught on video tossing trash on to someone else's car at a carpark in Bukit Panjang. The owner was naturally pissed off when she saw rubbish on her car. Video evidence Thankfully, the owner had a dashcam camera that recorded everything. In the video, you can see a Volkswagen Jetta pull up and park beside the "victim's" car. A woman gets out of the Jetta and dumps Trash Bag A. She then disappears out of frame for a pretty long time and suddenly, at about 1.26 into the video, another trash bag, (Trash Bag B) appears next to Trash Bag A. The woman then cooly takes all her barang barang and walks off. No F#$s given. Who should you notify There have been cases like this before. Remember that incident when someone found soiled diapers on their car? The proper authorities to report to would be the NEA. They’ll sort you out and bring the culprit to justice! NEA Hotline: 6225 5632 But, if someone did that to my car…. What the people say Wah, throw at each other okay lah. Don't play with one another car leh! *Images and screenshots taken from STOMP and STOMP Facebook Page
  6. With more and more brands abandoning the manual gearbox, the amount of drivers being able to drive cars equipped one also lessens day by day. With that in mind, Volkswagen USA thinks that its latest Jetta GLI, when optioned with a manual gearbox, would easily deter thieves. In its latest commercial for the sports sedan, it portrayed the aforementioned idea in just that way. However, while it was cheeky of them to come out with this advertisement, they did put a small line at the end of the video saying, “Legally we have to tell you that you should always lock your car, so you should lock your car." to make sure viewers should only take it as a joke. It is unknown whether the latest Jetta GLI will make it to our sunny shores.
  7. Following Skoda with it new Octavia, the new Jetta seems to be much larger than the existing model, and likely to hit close to 4.7m in length. Design wise, I am seeing hints of Audi (headlight), Honda (grille) Ford (C pillar) and Hyundai (taillight). Hopefully the car look better in metal, just like the current B8 Passat. Photos were rumored to be taken at VW Mexico manufacturing facilities. In case you still don't believe this is the new Jetta, but some other VW model for Brazil or China, here are some spy shots of the new Jetta taken earlier.
  8. Hi Members This thread mainly for VW Jetta comments... Happy reviews and contributions
  9. Hey guys...here's the review...a good car for those who love the GTI, but must have 4 doors... do note the error in the title of the review. It should be "Volkswagen Jetta GLI" http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=42
  10. Hi All, I admit that I am attracted by Jetta because it is a Europe car and the current offered price is very attractive too. it is spacious and the boot is huge. However, when I went through all the threads, it seems it got a terrible history. I have a few questions: 1) the 7 speed gear box- when I checked with the sales, he told me it is not an issue any more for those 2015 Jetta. How likely I can trust him? he told me the sales figure is good this year. 2) Currently WV only offers 3 years warranty for the gear box now. After the warranty, the sales told me it is about 2K+ to replace it. If I want to keep this car after 3 years, Do I have to budget this 2K+ every year based on the information given by some brothers in this forum. 3) Besides this gear box issue, Is there any other main issue for this model? The sales kept telling me that I don't need to worry about it any more since WV has fixed it for the year 2015 model. if it is still a concern to me, he suggested me that I can sell it just before end of the 3rd years. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Ken
  11. Although Jetta GearBox's negative impression, but its sales figure don't lose "sell like hot cakes" Mazda 3 and Altis

  20. Toyota recently launched their 11th generation Corolla Altis and it is a pretty well-resolved car. Since this 1.6-litre sedan category is such a hotly-contested segment, we thought it would be nice to have a second opinion of the Corolla Altis comparing with some of its closest rivals… Kia Forte K3 1.6 First up, our recent Sedan of the Year winner, the Forte K3. Despite being launched last year, the car still looks pretty darn fresh. No surprises given that the Koreans have been producing cars that are almost guaranteed to look good without burning a big hole in your wallet. At press time, it is almost 10 grand lesser than the rest while being the most well equipped. It also felt like it had the most room among the others. However, all is not that well when you start driving. Steering, while being the sharpest and most direct, feels slightly artificial. I wasn't too sure I liked the variable steering weight system also as I found myself changing between ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’ every now and then. I couldn't find fault with the ride and grip level were as good as the rest. Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI DSG Personally, I have always found the Jetta to be a handsome car. So it took me by surprise when I thought it didn’t look as sharp as it had always been to me when we parked the cars side by side. Having sampled the Jetta over quite a few miles couple of years ago, it felt good to be back behind the wheel of one. The chassis feels stable, steering reassuring and engine strong. Just like how I remembered. However, unlike then, age has ruthlessly caught up and the interior is starting to feel a little bland as compared to the other two. Not having much equipment on board hurts its scorecard too. Glad to report interior space is more than adequate and overall, the car feels a notch better in quality than the rest. Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 The Corolla Altis. I’m sure most people should have driven or sat in one at least once in their lifetime. I spent most of my teenage years in one and not once did it break down. It was never the fastest nor the best-looking but it was loyal and dependable. Coming to the latest one, I must say Toyota has definitely upped its game and gave it a great looking face. I would even go as far as saying the Toyota is the most handsome one here. Moving inside, the car has grown quite abit and build quality is much improved. Equipment levels are acceptable too. On the move, the Toyota is the quietest and feels lively. Comfort level is definitely on par or better compared with the rest in this segment. Its new Super Continuously Variable Transmission with Intelligence is also worth commending for not being like most whiny CVTs in lesser cars. If you have yet to read our comparison story between the Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 and its rivals, click here.
  21. as above, 4 litres for VW Jetta 1.4 TSi isit enough for servicing? thanks
  22. any bro here driving the above mentioned new VW JETTA SPORT! care to let in the con and pro of the above! mi thinking of changing ride but afraid of the twin turbo maintenances!
  23. how come no one discussing about this new 1.4 l jetta?!?! avante got like 6 pages. its a cheaper golf with a boot! anyone interested?! i am!
  24. Would appreciate a debatable view on the above 2 cars. Thx. New Jetta 1.4TSI Sport 160bhp: 0-100kph: 8.3s 7DSG. Est price: S$130k. But there should be the 1.4TSI 122bhp and 1.2TSI 105bhp 7DSG versions, starting price from est S$110k. Hyundai i45 being a larger car, is going for S$120k. Space and exterior size is important, so is adequate and relaxed performance.
  25. Volkswagen AG has just issued a recall of nearly 380,000 cars due to the potential for fuel leaks which could lead to a fire. According to The Detroit News, A total of 266,936 Jetta, Jetta SportWagen, Golf and Rabbit models from the 2007 to 2009 model years are affected,. In addition, 110,350 new Beetle models (both hardtop and convertible) are also at risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued an official recall bulletin: "The Jetta, Jetta SportWagen, Golf and Rabbit vehicles may have a small plastic tab located on the windshield washer fluid reservoir that may chafe against an underhood fuel supply line. The New Beetle and the New Beetle Convertible vehicles may have a fastening clamp on a hydraulic hose of the power steering system that may be located in an improper position which could cause chafing against an underhood fuel supply line." In both instances, chafing could result in a fuel leak, which in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. NHTSA states that dealerships will either remove the plastic tab from the windshield washer fluid reservoir. In the case of the New Beetles, the position of the fastening clamp will be inspected. Both services will be free of charge to the owners. I have a strong feeling that the Jettas all over the world will be affected since the location of the plastic tab and fuel supply line should be universal. I hope I am wrong though as I do not wish to have my life endangered.
