  2. US daredevil dies in Yosemite jumping accident https://sg.news.yahoo.com/us-daredevil-potter-dies-jumping-accident-083834489.html A world-renowned extreme athlete died along with another man during a stunt at the Yosemite National Park in California, US media said Sunday. Tributes poured in from all over the globe for Dean Potter, 43, following his death on Saturday. He and fellow BASE jumper Graham Hunt, 29, were killed during a jump at Taft Point, ABC News said, citing Yosemite National Park spokesman Scott Gediman. Reports filtered through to park officials on Saturday of an accident and a helicopter spotted the two bodies on Sunday. When Rangers got to them about noon, they were identified as Potter and Hunt, Gediman said. Other media said the pair had been attempting a wingsuit flight from Taft Point but smashed into a rocky outcrop when they tried to fly through a narrow gap in the mountains. On Potter's official Facebook page -- where he describes himself as "artist, adventurer, athlete" -- extreme sports enthusiasts from all over the world paid tribute to the man admired for his fearlessness and incredible courage. His last Facebook post, on May 12, shows a picture of his dog in a mountainous landscape and the caption: "Miss Whisper. Yosemite Dog." In an interview with The New York Times in 2008, Potter said: "Part of me says it's kind of crazy to think you can fly your human body. "Another part of me thinks all of us have had the dream that we can fly. Why not chase after it? Maybe it brings you to some other tangent. Chasing after the unattainable is the fun part." BASE stands for buildings, antennas, spans and Earth that jumpers can parachute from. It is illegal in US national parks.

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EdSz_W92owSynthetic lubricant manufacturer, Royal Purple, is highlighting award-winning Hollywood stuntman Lance Gilbert’s achievements in its 2013 Outperformer mini-documentary series. Gilbert is a third-generation stunt man with a family lineage going all the way back to Mickey Gilbert in Ben Hur. The antic chariot racing scenes in that 1959 film can be considered one of the precursors to the work Lance is doing on NfS, like the getting a Koenigsegg (replica) to flip out and explode on a bridge during a chase. It was a stunt that the director had planned to do with CGI until Lance convinced him that it could be done with real cars. You can see how it was done in the video – we think it's pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsrJWUVoXeM “Lance epitomizes the idea of what an Outperformer is,” said Royal Purple Marketing Director Randy Fisher. “He constantly pushes the limits to create some of the most amazing action scenes ever recorded. His meticulous planning and attention to detail ensure the safety of performers, while making ‘the impossible’ possible on-screen.”
  6. Well, surely there are plenty of amazing things you can do in life. However, the kind of stunts you are about to watch in the video below is likely not included as one of those amazing things. While there are some pretty mind-boggling stunts you can do with a motorcycle, this guy is really pushing the limit, yet in a bad way. Every single motorcyclist is supposed to know that putting on a helmet is one really basic rule to obey when it comes to riding a motorcycle. However, I think some people are just ignorant, if not stupid enough, to take this rule for granted. Then, when things happen as opposed to their expectations, only then will they start to regret, which is hopeless, useless and, obviously, too late. However, the guy, whose video you are about to watch, doesn't seem to care about these rules. He tries to show off some motorcycling stunts without any helmet protecting his head despite the basic rule I just talked about earlier. Well, maybe he doesn't really care about his head anyway. He's kind of stupid, after all. Not wearing a helmet and yet, the guy is still daring enough to perform wheelies on a pretty busy, I repeat - pretty busy, road as you can see from the traffic density in the video. As you can tell, he may fail his stunt and fall onto the road at any given time and, when that happens, he will crash his head hard on to the asphalt! And, to make things even worse, chances are really high that one or more cars may run over him right after he falls. However, it's a good thing and quite a relief, too, that he didn't fail his stunt this time, at least that's how it seems to me. Still, this is not something you are encouraged to try, not even at the tiniest bit! Try to keep that in mind, will ya?
  7. [extract] Before anyone makes any jokes about how many clowns can fit into a tiny car, this is no circus act. In fact, it is a publicity stunt organised by Volkswagen
  8. The T-1000 was a pretty vicious killing machine, but it was also a mighty fine pilot on anything with two wheels. From what we can tell, the cop in the following video is clearly the template from which the T-1000 was cast. Competing in a motorcycle obstacle course, this policeman wields his huge heavy Harley-Davidson police-edition Road King like a toy. The pegs scrape, the onlookers gasp and this cop runs through the course cleanly, much to the relief of the terrified cones. This bit of riding is two-wheeled poetry in motion. Don't get too close. These terminators are dangerous.
  9. It wasn't the fastest time of the day, but when the Nissan JUKE took to the Goodwood Hill over the Festival weekend (1-3 July) it still managed to break a record. For JUKE, Nissan's fast selling new crossover, climbed the tortuous hill during the annual Festival of Speed on two wheels rather than four, to claim a new Guinness World Record by covering the one-mile course in 2 min 55 secs*. And to prove it wasn't a fluke, the JUKE - with stunt driver Terry Grant at the wheel -successfully completed the course no fewer than five times, sometimes with passengers on board. Although Grant made it look easy, it was anything but. "It was really hairy... bloody hard work," he confessed afterwards. "If you know what you're doing, driving a car on two wheels in a straight line is comparatively easy. But the Goodwood course has corners, inclines and obstacles... there are trees and walls everywhere. I nearly rolled it on every run." To get JUKE onto two wheels, Grant used a ramp just ahead of the start line before heading towards Goodwood House and the first corner, a near 90-degree right. "That was where it started getting tricky. I had to tease it round, knowing that if I turned the wheel too far - or touched the grass - I'd be on the roof. Not enough and it would fall back onto all four wheels," said Grant. But worse was to come. One of the most famous obstacles on the course is a stout flint wall towards the end of the course and which juts onto the track. "Driving on two wheels is like driving with one hand over your left eye and another hand obscuring half the right - from where I was, tucked down on the right of the car, all I could see was the bonnet of the car and a bit of sky. I couldn't see where the wall was at all." The stunt captured the imagination of the huge crowds who were clapping and cheering all the way up the hill, while even hard-bitten journalists watching the run on monitors in the event's media centre were willing him on. Not content with driving JUKE solo, Grant also took passengers on three of the runs. "I had circuit commentator Amanda Stretton on one run, complete with 12 on-board cameras. I also took Lewis Hamilton's father Anthony up the hill - both Amanda and Anthony sat in the back on their runs. "But the most difficult was on the Sunday when I took Aussie motorcycle stunt rider Robbie Maddison up. Robbie was in the front, half out of the car and waving to the crowds all the way up!" The JUKE was totally standard, though for safety reasons before each run it was fitted with new Yokohama production tyres. Well, just a pair each time... After electrifying the Festival of Speed, Grant and the Nissan team then decamped to the nearby Goodwood race circuit and set about another dare-devil stunt, this time by lapping the track in the all-electric Nissan LEAF. In reverse. Because the EV doesn't have a conventional transmission it can, in theory, travel as fast backwards as it can forwards. On his fastest lap Nissan LEAF peaked at 62mph (100km/h). Going forwards it will reach 90mph (145km/h) suggesting that there might be more to come. Nissan has confirmed it is looking at future record attempts. But it won't be easy. Terry Grant said: "Driving backwards at those speeds is very tricky. You have to be super smooth at all times: any sudden movement of the steering wheel can have disastrous consequences." For the moment, though the only problem associated with Nissan's week of record breaking has befallen driver Terry Grant. After spending the weekend on two wheels and the early part of the week driving backwards, Grant confess that his neck now feels a little stiff! If you want to see Terry do it again then the official video from Goodwood will be available for viewing from 13 July on www.nissanpress.co.uk or visit the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power event 15,16 and 17 July. This 1.2 mile circuit at Cholmondeley could prove to be the most demanding of all with a very sharp hump back bridge to cross. Terry said "this bridge will definitely upset the balance of the vehicle and until I try it I do not know if I will be able to keep the Juke upright. Either way I am sure it will make a great spectacle."
  10. Went to doing up my car along serangoon Juz now. Parked my car in front of e shop While speaking to e boss on how to do it. Den saw a man taking photos of my car beside his van, which is a few lots in front of mine. Sensing funny, we asked him Wat he want. He Juz kept quiet n went back to his van. Seconds later, he came out with e handheld device all of us recognized. It turn out to be he is a parking warden n he is going to summon my car for not displaying coupon. Seems like they operate like HK police in movies now. Park a harmless looking van along e road n operate from inside. Bros pls beware. No longer white motorbikes r tell tale signs of their presence anymore

Downtown East murder: Teen suspect jumped three storeys to escape police In his desperation to escape from the police, he leapt three storeys off a balcony and into the swimming pool from the Honeymoon Suite at the SAF Yacht Club in Tanah Merah Coast Road. Tragically for Edward Tay Wei Loong, 18, he plunged into the shallow end of the pool, which is only 1.1m-deep, hitting his head against the tiles of the pool, reported The New Paper. Tay, who is among four teens charged with the Downtown East murder of Darren Ng Wei Jie, is now in the intensive care unit of Changi General Hospital (CGH) after an operation to relieve the internal bleeding inside his skull. 14. Day : Sunday, 22-Mar-09 Time : about 7.20pm Location : next to CP Exit, on the left side. I was driving around looking for a parking lot when I turn left. There was already 2 infront of me, right infront of me was a red madza and infront of this was a champagne mercedez. I can see 2 seperate lots available, seperated by a few cars - not more than 5. I think the mercedez was about to start to move forward then reverse into the furthest lot which is only logical. There would not be a problem for the mazda to make his move to reverse into the lot nearer to him, infact it was at just about infront of him. After I managed to parked, I was able to ascertained between the 2 empty lots(which jas already been occupied by both the red mazda and the mercedez is 3 cars away. What I saw next, . The red mazda coming from behind mercedez right side, then cut infront on the left and stop in a diagonal position and proceed to reverse into the lot that was nearer to the mercedez. The mercedez gave a horn to warn of danger. The red madza front passenger gave a hand gesture to the mercedez that there is a empty parking lot behind. As the mercedez was reversing into that lot, the driver(male with a mascular body) and the passengers(2 female) came out after parking. The 2 female passengers were looking into the direction of the mercedez and laughing away. The mercedez was driven by a lady with a female passenger.

  17. Yes I'm the blue Evo behind you as we were turning left from Clementi Road to AYE (towards ECP) together. There are two left-turning lanes. You were on the left lane and I was on the right. I picked up my speed as we were entering the left turn but you chose not to keep to your left lane and decided to sweep into my right lane, almost causing me to knock into your rear. So I gave you a tap on my horn, and then filter friendly to your left rear so as to overtake you on your left. But you na bei jee bye was not happy with my horning you, so you swerved back into my lane and jammed brake. Luckily my Brembos did not fail me as I was just millimeters away from knocking you. Knn then after that you tried to race me off. You Wish (pun intended ). You even tried to pull the same swerving stunt again but too bad I overtook you with a breeze even on my 5th gear. You suck. You are a damn bloody idiot. You have passengers seated all the way to the back seat and you decided that their lives are less important than your foolhardy act. You decided to take the chance for me to ram into your rear and hurt your loved ones. And please bear this in mind: you were wrong in the first place for not keeping to your lane during turning. Or maybe you need my grandma to teach you that? My suggestion to you: 1) Improve you driving skills 2) Switch to normal plate so that you can have more road-time to practise driving 3) Ditch that clumsy Wish of yours, cos your skills made it more spastic 4) Get a faster car. Haha.
  18. CTE lagi best...was behind this silver OPC altis and a red SFB alfa hatch ard 7+pm on the way to town on Tues. It was drizzling and the traffic was start-stop but the opc altis was following the alfa hatch a little too close. But what happened after they went past the PIE exit really takes the cake, the dumbass alfa driver came to complete halt on the extreme right lane of an expressway! A lot of pple behind me had to halt suddenly and after a few secs we began to filter out. (kind of dangerous to be stationary during peak hour highway traffic plus the road was wet) As i filtered to second lane and went past the 2 cars, the moron from the alfa got out and made his way to the altis and started yelling and gesturing... Not sure what happen after that but if some driver from behind took his eyes off the road for a second, when he turns his attention back onto the road, he will not be expecting 2 stationary vehicles on the extreme right lane of CTE during peak hour. Dunno what that dickhead was thinking but getting out of your ride on lane 1 during peak hour CTE to verbally lash the driver who irritated u?? Just think back to the prime mover mowing the civic on the road shoulder accident a few years back. If you know the hatch driver, pls ask him to go for anger mgt therapy and try not to repeat this kind of stunt, tailgater may be in the wrong but don't risk his life like that. If some twit slams into that altis from behind, the alfa driver is a sitting duck if the collision sends the altis towards him.
