  2. Saw this new brand made in Singapore in Carousell recently and decided to try. Bought 2 bottles and got my workshop friend to change for a small labor cost.So far after a week all good. Went back and bought 2 more bottles to standby. Apparently the boss said they are doing some soft launch promo price now and will be selling off the shelves in supermarkets soon. When asked him if price will increase he just said enjoy the promo price first. 4L bottle fully synthetic api sn/sm $17.90
  3. Tried to remove some minor scratches on the alloy rims (non glossy non shining type) with fine sandpaper on a boring sunday. Managed to buff out the scratches but left a bit of polishing marks . It is not noticeable unless look at it closely. I can live with it. Do I need to do anything more on the affected areas like applying a protective coat?
  4. Looking forward to self driving autonomous vehicle in the near future ? Why wait ? You can now remotely hack someone's modern car via your 3G/4G cellnet into the vehicle's CANBUS network. Question is what are you going to do with it when empowered with that remote control. http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/07/24/hackers-reveal-nasty-new-car-attacks-with-me-behind-the-wheel-video/
  5. There were a lot of argument car is so expensive due to high COE and profit margin by AD/PI. It will be interesting to see how many people who purchase car in recent time paying for their own car OR someone else pay for it. You may stay anonymous without owning up..

  13. "While more than two-thirds (69%) of drivers consciously worry about being killed when driving, only 1% believe they perform worse than average when it comes to driving safely. Conversely, 98% think they are safer than, or as safe as the average driver." Lifted directly from a UK press release I received today - though it was kind of appropriate.
  14. someone working in SG and was in msia for the weekend, he drove a SG registered car, a toyota/suzuki i didn't get proper info. So they went out with another relative who was driving a Nissan Xtrail. They went to Damansara Uptown for lunch, upon parking their cars both caR couldn't lock their cars using the remote, however they didn't think much of it at that time and just locked the cars using the keys. Later after lunch, they got back to the cars and then went to another makan place for dessert two streets away. 30 mins later after dessert the cars were stolen. So it was believed the thieves somehow jammed their alarm remotes and took the car and this website sells it http://www.jammer-store.com/433mhz-remote-...er-blocker.html so if you cant remote lock yr car, go else where... What i normally do in Malaysia. Purposely activate the immobilisers, wait till the siren finish, lock my car with key and walk off plus wheel lock with front in parking and steer the wheel to either right or left depending on which side have barrier or pillar also installed a switch when activated, even your original car key cannot start the car. some will say don go in lor but jobs require, and changing job or don work is not an option for some
  15. hehee.... mine is McGap, thrown in free with the car and guess what, it failed the inspection today..... didnt know for the past ~3yrs, i was driving an "illegally" tinted rear end.. the front is ok.... so, for those on this, beware if your car is going in for inspection...

  19. Hi bros, notice this issue in 1 outta 10 start ups irregardless of engine warm or cold. I crank and it will go "eee (1 sec slience) eee eee eee brooom......" I don't have to change the key position or recrank, it will just eee first time, slient for 1 sec than continue cranking on its on and start up. All happens very quickly. Battery is coming to 1.5 year old now. Is it a old batt issue or something else ? Car is 3years 2 mth now
  20. 2 nights ago. I was coming down from Simei MSCP. Saw this long queue of cars in front. Waited for a few minutes and the queue didn't move. Went to the first car in the queue that was stuck before the car park gantry. Found out from the lady in the car that their cash card couldn't be used. Her mum was trying to borrow from other drivers but no one budged. I passed them mine and they managed to get out immediately. And the parking fee was only 45 cts. I'm just puzzled why would the few drivers immediately behind this car preferred to get stuck than taking the risk of lending the cash card. What would you do?
  21. ST 26/5/08 FROM Sunday, motorists must report all accidents - no matter how minor - to their respective insurers within 24hours or part of their no-claims discount (NCD) will be docked. Worse, their insurers might not cover them if a claim is filed against them. This tough stance is the latest attempt by the insurance industry to curb runaway claims, which drove motor underwriting losses to a five-year high of $103.2 million last year. The picture continues to look bleak this year: In the first quarter, motor-underwriting losses hit $35.3 million - nearly treble that for the same period last year. Insurers reckon inflated claims are a major cause. These claims are often filed well after an accident. Although it has long been a legal requirement to report all accidents, this is the first time insurers are insisting on a 24-hour timeframe so 'fresh information' is at hand. Insurers also believe people are less likely to lie or have less chance to collaborate with workshops to submit inflated claims within the first 24hours of an accident. In announcing the new step, the General Insurance Association (GIA) - which represents about 30 motor insurers here - said on Monday that car owners will lose 10 percentage points of their NCD if they do not comply. NCDs are given annually to motorists who have not made accident claims, up to a maximum of 50 per cent of their annual premium. So a motorist who pays a premium of $500 after a 50 per cent NCD and does not report an accident to his insurer within 24hours would have to pay $600 the next time he renews his policy. Motorists with no NCD will not suffer this penalty, but the GIA warned that those who do not comply with the new rule are in breach of policy terms and an insurer would have the right to refuse their claims.
  22. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080315/tap...st-c3bb44c.html As always, whenever an issue such as this comes up & is voiced publicly, this happens. What happened to the ideal ; "for the good of the general public"? Really wish we had something similar to the First Ammendment of The Constitution of the USA. Dirty politics abound, no doubt, but not everyone has to suffer in absolute silence.
